Description

Pressure Redistribution, Heel Protection & Advanced Foam Support for Homecare and Long-Term Care Patients

The Protekt® 300 Pressure Redistribution Foam Hospital Bed Mattress is a premium therapeutic hospital bed mattress designed to help improve comfort, reduce pressure buildup, support skin protection, and provide safer long-term positioning support for patients in homecare, nursing home, rehabilitation, hospice, and medical facility environments.

Built with multi-tiered high-density foam, a sloped heel section, pressure redistribution technology, and supportive transfer edge reinforcement, the Protekt® 300 is specifically engineered to help patients who spend extended periods in bed and may be at risk for pressure injuries, circulation concerns, skin breakdown, or general discomfort from standard innerspring mattresses.

Unlike basic medical mattresses that simply provide a sleeping surface, the Protekt® 300 is designed as a true therapeutic foam hospital bed mattress focused on pressure redistribution, patient positioning stability, caregiver support, and long-term comfort.

Whether you are searching for:

  • ✔️ A premium hospital bed mattress
  • ✔️ A therapeutic foam hospital bed mattress
  • ✔️ A mattress for bed sores
  • ✔️ A pressure redistribution medical mattress
  • ✔️ A homecare hospital bed mattress
  • ✔️ A mattress for elderly patients
  • ✔️ A long-term care foam mattress
  • ✔️ A pressure relief mattress for adjustable beds
  • ✔️ A medical mattress with heel protection
  • ✔️ A hospital mattress for home use

the Protekt® 300 is designed to provide advanced support, pressure redistribution, and safer long-term bed comfort for patients requiring more protection and support than a traditional foam or spring mattress.

Why This Hospital Bed Mattress Stands Out

The Protekt® 300 combines advanced pressure redistribution foam layers, heel pressure reduction technology, supportive transfer edges, fluid-resistant infection-control materials, and optional raised side rail systems into one therapeutic support surface.

✔️ Multi-tiered pressure redistribution foam
✔️ High resiliency die-cut foam design
✔️ Sloped heel pressure reduction section
✔️ Open-cell memory foam heel support
✔️ PTSS transfer edge rail system
✔️ Stretch nylon low-shear cover
✔️ Anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection
✔️ Fluid-resistant infection control surface
✔️ Optional raised side rail support
✔️ Designed for moderate to high-risk patients
✔️ Excellent long-term care comfort
✔️ Available in standard and Plus height options

Designed for Pressure Redistribution & Bed Sore Prevention Support

One of the most important functions of the Protekt® 300 foam hospital bed mattress is helping reduce concentrated pressure buildup that can occur when patients remain in bed for long periods of time.

The mattress uses multiple layers of therapeutic foam engineered to redistribute body weight more evenly across the support surface instead of allowing pressure to remain concentrated under vulnerable areas like:

  • ✔️ Heels
  • ✔️ Tailbone and sacrum
  • ✔️ Hips
  • ✔️ Shoulder blades
  • ✔️ Lower back

This helps improve comfort while also supporting circulation and reducing stress on vulnerable skin areas.

For patients at risk of skin breakdown or pressure injuries, this makes the Protekt® 300 a strong option as a mattress for bed sores, pressure redistribution support, and long-term care comfort.

Advanced Heel Protection & Circulation Support

Heel pressure is one of the most common problem areas for patients who spend long periods in bed. The Protekt® 300 includes a specially engineered sloped heel section designed to reduce direct pressure on the heel area while redistributing weight toward the lower leg.

The heel section includes:

  • ✔️ Sloped heel pressure relief design
  • ✔️ Open-cell memory foam support
  • ✔️ Improved heel immersion
  • ✔️ Enhanced pressure redistribution
  • ✔️ Better circulation support
  • ✔️ Reduced heel pressure concentration

This makes the mattress especially valuable for:

  • ✔️ Elderly patients
  • ✔️ Bedridden individuals
  • ✔️ Post-surgical recovery
  • ✔️ Patients with mobility limitations
  • ✔️ Long-term care patients
  • ✔️ Patients vulnerable to heel pressure injuries

Multi-Tiered Foam Construction for Long-Term Comfort

The Protekt® 300 uses layered therapeutic foam construction to create a support surface that balances pressure redistribution, stability, immersion, and long-term durability.

The upper foam layers help contour to the body while the high resiliency support layers underneath help maintain structure and support over time.

Benefits of the multi-tiered foam design include:

  • ✔️ Better body weight distribution
  • ✔️ Improved patient comfort
  • ✔️ Reduced pressure concentration
  • ✔️ Better long-term durability
  • ✔️ More supportive sleeping surface
  • ✔️ Improved stability during repositioning

Unlike lower-quality foam mattresses that compress quickly or flatten over time, the Protekt® 300 is built for continuous medical and homecare use.

PTSS Rail System for Safer Transfers & Edge Support

The Protekt® 300 includes the PTSS Rail System, which provides reinforced edge support along the sides of the mattress.

This feature is extremely valuable because many patients and caregivers struggle with:

  • ❌ Difficulty transferring in and out of bed
  • ❌ Mattress edge collapse while sitting
  • ❌ Instability during repositioning
  • ❌ Unsafe edge sitting

The reinforced transfer edges help:

  • ✔️ Improve transfer stability
  • ✔️ Support safer edge sitting
  • ✔️ Assist caregivers during repositioning
  • ✔️ Reduce edge collapse
  • ✔️ Create a more supportive perimeter

This is especially useful for elderly users, rehab patients, bariatric support needs, and patients who frequently transfer between bed, wheelchair, or lift devices.

Low Shear, Fluid-Resistant Medical Cover

The Protekt® 300 includes a premium stretch nylon medical cover engineered for infection control, moisture protection, and patient comfort.

The cover is:

  • ✔️ Anti-microbial
  • ✔️ Anti-bacterial
  • ✔️ Fluid resistant
  • ✔️ Low shear and low friction
  • ✔️ Easy to clean
  • ✔️ Designed for medical environments

The low-shear surface is important because it helps reduce friction against the skin during repositioning and movement in bed.

The mattress also includes:

  • ✔️ Anti-contamination zipper flap
  • ✔️ 360° zipper access
  • ✔️ Easy cover removal for cleaning
  • ✔️ Fluid migration protection

This makes the mattress an excellent option for:

  • ✔️ Homecare environments
  • ✔️ Long-term care facilities
  • ✔️ Skilled nursing facilities
  • ✔️ Rehab centers
  • ✔️ Hospice care

6” Standard vs 9” Plus Height – What’s the Difference?

The Protekt® 300 is available in both standard 6-inch models and taller 9-inch Plus models.

6” Standard Models

The 6-inch version is ideal for:

✔️ Standard homecare bed setups
✔️ Lower transfer heights
✔️ Traditional medical bed configurations
✔️ Patients needing therapeutic support without added mattress height

9” Plus Models

The taller 9-inch Plus models provide:

✔️ Additional immersion depth
✔️ Increased comfort feel
✔️ Enhanced pressure redistribution
✔️ More substantial support surface
✔️ Greater overall cushioning

Many caregivers and users prefer the Plus models for patients spending very long hours in bed or needing a more substantial therapeutic surface.

Optional Raised Rail & Rail Wedge Support Options

Some Protekt® 300 configurations and optional accessories include raised side rail supports and rail wedges designed to help improve edge definition and patient safety.

These options may help:

✔️ Improve edge awareness
✔️ Reduce rolling toward mattress edges
✔️ Support safer repositioning
✔️ Assist certain fall-risk patients
✔️ Improve caregiver confidence

Depending on the configuration selected, some taller Plus models may already include enhanced side support characteristics due to their thicker foam structure, while optional rail accessories can provide additional edge definition where needed.

If you are unsure which configuration is best for your patient or care environment, MedCare Mobility can help determine the most appropriate mattress setup based on safety concerns, transfer needs, bed type, and patient condition.

✔️ Patients needing pressure redistribution
✔️ Homecare hospital bed users
