Description

Invacare Foam Hospital Bed Mattress for Long-Term Care, Comfort & Pressure Redistribution

The Invacare Essential Care Convoluted Foam Hospital Bed Mattress is a supportive Invacare foam hospital bed mattress designed for patients who need dependable comfort, pressure redistribution, skin protection support, and long-term bed rest comfort in homecare, assisted living, rehab, nursing care, and healthcare environments.

Built with high-quality therapeutic foam, a five-zone convoluted surface, a fluid-proof nylon woven cover, and a non-skid bottom cover, this mattress is made to help support patient comfort while reducing concentrated pressure areas during extended time in bed.

Whether you are searching for a convoluted foam hospital mattress, a hospital bed mattress for long term care, or a dependable foam mattress for elderly homecare, the Invacare Essential Care Mattress is designed to provide practical medical-grade support for daily patient care.

Why This Invacare Foam Hospital Bed Mattress Stands Out

The Invacare Essential Care Mattress is not a basic flat foam mattress. It uses five distinct convoluted zones designed to improve surface contact and promote comfort for the head, trunk, and feet.

This zoned foam design helps:

  • ✔️ Improve body surface contact
  • ✔️ Promote better pressure redistribution
  • ✔️ Support long-term bed comfort
  • ✔️ Reduce concentrated pressure buildup
  • ✔️ Improve comfort for elderly patients
  • ✔️ Support homecare and facility use

For patients who spend many hours in bed, this type of convoluted foam hospital mattress can provide a more supportive and comfortable surface than a basic flat foam or standard mattress.

Five-Zone Convoluted Foam Pressure Support

The mattress features five distinct convoluted zones that help improve pressure redistribution across key body areas.

These zones are designed to support:

  • ✔️ Head comfort
  • ✔️ Trunk support
  • ✔️ Hip and pelvic pressure distribution
  • ✔️ Leg comfort
  • ✔️ Foot support

The convoluted foam surface helps distribute weight more evenly across the mattress instead of allowing pressure to stay concentrated in one area for too long.

This makes it a strong option for patients who need a hospital bed mattress for long term care, especially when comfort, skin protection, and daily patient support are major concerns.

High-Quality 1.8 lb Density Foam

The Invacare Essential Care Mattress is constructed with high-quality 1.8 lb density foam designed to provide pressure redistribution and quick recovery of the support surface.

This foam construction helps:

  • ✔️ Maintain consistent patient support
  • ✔️ Recover shape after pressure
  • ✔️ Improve long-term durability
  • ✔️ Support stable positioning
  • ✔️ Provide better comfort than basic foam

The foam is also sourced from the USA and has CertiPUR-US® certification, adding another layer of quality assurance for patients, caregivers, and care facilities.

Fluid-Proof Nylon Woven Cover with Zipper Guard

The mattress includes a fluid-proof nylon woven cover with a zipper guard to help prevent fluid ingress.

This is important in patient care because moisture exposure can damage the mattress core and make cleaning more difficult over time.

The cover helps provide:

  • ✔️ Fluid protection
  • ✔️ Easier cleaning
  • ✔️ Better hygiene support
  • ✔️ Long-term durability
  • ✔️ Protection for the foam core

The cover zipper opens on three sides, making foam inspection and cover replacement easier for caregivers and facilities.

Non-Skid Bottom for Adjustable Hospital Beds

The non-skid bottom cover helps keep the mattress in place during head and knee articulation.

This is especially important for:

  • ✔️ Adjustable hospital beds
  • ✔️ Semi-electric beds
  • ✔️ Full electric beds
  • ✔️ Long-term care beds
  • ✔️ Homecare medical beds

When a hospital bed raises or lowers the head and knee sections, a mattress can shift if the bottom surface does not grip properly. The non-skid bottom helps improve mattress stability and caregiver confidence during daily use.

Best For Long-Term Care, Homecare & Elderly Patients

This Invacare foam hospital bed mattress is best suited for:

  • ✔️ Elderly patients
  • ✔️ Homecare patients
  • ✔️ Long-term care residents
  • ✔️ Rehab recovery patients
  • ✔️ Assisted living residents
  • ✔️ Patients spending extended time in bed
  • ✔️ Users needing pressure redistribution support
  • ✔️ Caregivers needing easy-clean medical bedding

It is suitable for multiple care environments including home, residential, and long-term care.

The Invacare Essential Care Mattress is available in multiple hospital bed sizes, including:

  • ✔️ 36” x 80”
  • ✔️ 36” x 84”
  • ✔️ 42” x 80”
  • ✔️ 42” x 84”

This gives customers more flexibility when matching the mattress to standard or wider hospital bed frames.
