Description
Aquatec SRB Bath Lift with Reclining Backrest & Upper Body Support
This item is a specialty Item and may have a lead time of 3-4 weeks. if you need to have it immidiately please confirm availability first.
The Aquatec SRB Bath Lift is a specialized reclining bathtub lift designed for individuals who need more upper-body support and positioning assistance while getting into, bathing in, and rising from a bathtub. Unlike a basic bath lift chair, the SRB combines a backrest that reclines up to 40 degrees with adjustable side laterals that provide additional support around the upper body.
Part of the Aquatec bath lift family from Invacare, the SRB lowers to an exceptionally low 2.5-inch minimum seat height, allowing the user to sit deeper in the bathtub for a more natural bathing experience. When bathing is finished, its reinforced scissor lifting mechanism raises the seat to a maximum height of approximately 16.5 inches. The lift supports users weighing up to 300 lbs.
The Aquatec SRB reclining bath lift also incorporates a floating ergonomic hand control, battery-powered operation, an integrated head support, hinged side flaps, washable white covers, and a two-piece design that separates for cleaning, storage, and transportation. For users who need a bath lift with additional trunk and upper-body support, the SRB offers a more specialized configuration than the standard Aquatec reclining model.
Why the Aquatec SRB Bath Lift Stands Out
The defining feature of the Aquatec SRB is not simply that it raises and lowers a person in the bathtub. It is specifically designed for users who may benefit from additional upper-body support and positioning while seated on the bath lift.
Adjustable side laterals provide support alongside the upper body, while the tall backrest and integrated head support create a more supportive seating system. The backrest can then recline by up to 40 degrees, allowing the user to move from a more upright position into a relaxed bathing position.
- ✔️ Adjustable upper-body side laterals
- ✔️ Backrest reclines up to 40°
- ✔️ Ultra-low 2.5-inch seat height
- ✔️ Reinforced scissor lifting mechanism
- ✔️ Floating ergonomic hand control
- ✔️ 300 lb weight capacity
Adjustable Side Laterals for Additional Upper Body Support
The feature that distinguishes the Aquatec SRB bath lift from the standard Aquatec R reclining model is its adjustable side lateral support system. These laterals are designed to provide additional support and positioning around the user’s upper body while seated.
This makes the SRB particularly relevant for an individual who needs more support than a conventional open-sided bath lift provides. The laterals can help support a more controlled seated position during the bathing process while still allowing the user to benefit from the lift’s reclining backrest.
Because positioning needs vary considerably from one person to another, users with significant postural or mobility limitations should have their seating and transfer requirements appropriately assessed before selecting a bath lift.
Reclining Bath Lift with Up to 40° Backrest Recline
The Aquatec SRB features a reclining backrest that can recline by up to 40 degrees. Instead of requiring the user to remain completely upright throughout bathing, the reclining function allows a more relaxed position when appropriate.
The backrest measures approximately 14 inches wide and 26 inches high and incorporates head support as part of the bath lift’s supportive design. When the backrest is upright, the lift has a total depth of approximately 25.5 inches. Fully reclined, its total depth is approximately 36 inches.
Because a reclining bath lift requires additional space behind the seat as it reclines, bathtub dimensions and available clearance should be considered before purchase.
2.5-Inch Minimum Seat Height for Deeper Bathing
One of the most important specifications when comparing a bath lift is how low the seat can descend into the bathtub. A lift that remains too high above the bottom of the tub can significantly reduce the amount of water surrounding the user.
The Aquatec SRB lowers to just 2.5 inches above the tub floor. This exceptionally low position provides considerably more room for a deeper, more comfortable bathing experience while still giving the user the lifting assistance of a powered bath lift.
When raised, the seat reaches approximately 16.5 inches high, creating a substantial lifting range between the lowered bathing position and raised transfer position.
Reinforced Scissor Lifting Mechanism
The Aquatec bath lift uses a reinforced scissor mechanism engineered to combine dependable lifting with a compact structure. This lifting system moves the seat vertically between its 2.5-inch minimum and 16.5-inch maximum seat heights while supporting a maximum user weight of 300 lbs.
The compact scissor design also helps preserve usable space around the lift, contributing to the SRB’s ability to provide a low bathing position without requiring an unnecessarily bulky lifting assembly.
Battery Safety Helps Prevent Stranding
A particularly important feature of the Aquatec SRB is its battery-management safety function. The lift will not allow the seat to descend when there is insufficient battery power available to raise the user again.
This helps address one of the most important concerns with a battery-powered bath lift: lowering a user into the bathtub and then discovering that insufficient battery capacity remains for the return trip.
The hand control incorporates a lightweight, efficient rechargeable battery and is designed for straightforward operation of the lift and reclining functions.
Floating Ergonomic Hand Control
The Aquatec SRB is operated using an ergonomic floating hand control. Because the pendant floats, it is designed to remain easier to locate and retrieve in the bathing environment rather than disappearing beneath the water.
A spiral cable keeps the controller connected to the bath lift while providing convenient reach. The hand control also features a quick-release connection, supporting straightforward setup and removal.
The simple hand-operated controls allow the user or caregiver to control the powered lifting and reclining functions from within easy reach.
15-Inch Seat with Hinged Side Flaps
The main seating surface measures approximately 15 inches wide by 19 inches deep. Hinged side flaps extend the total seat width to approximately 28 inches when opened.
The side flaps are designed to sit flush with the main seating surface, creating a more continuous surface for appropriate side transfers and helping reduce potential skin entrapment between the seat and flap.
Because the total width with side flaps is 28 inches, buyers should compare the lift dimensions with the inside dimensions and upper edges of their bathtub before purchase.
Textured Seat Can Be Used Without Covers
The Aquatec SRB features a textured seating surface, allowing the bath lift to be used without the removable covers if desired. For users who prefer a covered seating surface, the SRB comes in white and supports removable covers.
The white seat and backrest cover can be removed for laundering by unbuttoning it around the edges. This gives users and caregivers flexibility when cleaning and maintaining the bathing surface.
Two-Piece Design for Easier Removal & Storage
Despite its supportive construction, the Aquatec SRB is designed to come apart into two primary sections. When the backrest is pushed forward, it folds down and automatically unlocks, allowing the backrest and base/seat section to be separated.
This is especially useful when the bathtub needs to remain available for other household members. Rather than treating the lift as a permanently installed fixture, the two sections can be removed from the bathtub and fit neatly together for more compact storage.
The SRB weighs approximately 25.5 lbs without the hand control. Separating the unit also means the entire lift does not need to be handled as one 25.5 lb assembly: the seat section weighs approximately 14.5 lbs and the backrest approximately 11 lbs.
Easy-to-Clean Bath Lift Design
Bathroom equipment is routinely exposed to water, soap, body-care products, and moisture, making cleanability an important consideration. The Aquatec SRB uses an open, clean-cut design with smooth surfaces intended to simplify routine cleaning.
The removable covers can be laundered separately, while the underlying textured seating surface provides another practical option for users who prefer to operate the bath lift without covers.
Aquatec SRB vs. Standard Aquatec R Bath Lift
Aquatec SRB Special Reclining Back
- ✔️ Adjustable upper-body side laterals
- ✔️ Up to 40° backrest recline
- ✔️ Integrated head support
- ✔️ 300 lb weight capacity
- ✔️ 2.5-inch minimum seat height
- ✔️ White bath lift finish
Aquatec R Reclining Back
- ✔️ Up to 40° backrest recline
- ✔️ 300 lb weight capacity
- ✔️ 2.5-inch minimum seat height
- ✔️ Standard reclining configuration
Both models provide the core Aquatec reclining bath lift functionality. The SRB is the more specialized choice when additional lateral upper-body support and positioning are required. Users who do not require the side lateral system may not need the additional support configuration of the SRB.
Aquatec SRB vs. Aquatec XL
The Aquatec SRB has a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs. For users requiring a higher-capacity Aquatec bath lift, the Aquatec XL is rated for up to 375 lbs.
The important distinction is that the SRB is specifically configured around additional upper-body lateral support, while the XL addresses the need for increased weight capacity. The appropriate model should therefore be selected according to the user’s weight, positioning requirements, support needs, and bathtub dimensions rather than capacity alone.
Who Is the Aquatec SRB Bath Lift Best For?
The Aquatec SRB reclining bath lift is designed for users who want powered assistance getting down into and back up from a bathtub while also requiring greater upper-body support than a standard bath lift provides.
It may be particularly appropriate for:
- ✔️ Users needing upper-body lateral support
- ✔️ Individuals needing powered bath lowering
- ✔️ Users preferring reclining back support
- ✔️ Caregiver-assisted bathing routines
- ✔️ Users requiring deeper tub positioning
- ✔️ Adults weighing up to 300 lbs
- ✔️ Homes requiring removable bathing equipment
Who May Need a Different Bath Lift?
The SRB provides additional positioning support, but it is not appropriate for every user or bathtub. A different bathing solution may be required when the user’s body dimensions, transfer ability, postural needs, weight, or bathroom environment fall outside the SRB’s intended configuration.
A different product should be considered for:
- ✔️ Users exceeding 300 lbs
- ✔️ Bathtubs lacking adequate dimensions
- ✔️ Users needing greater positioning support
- ✔️ Users requiring mechanical transfer assistance
- ✔️ Non-bathtub bathing environments
The Aquatec SRB is a bath lift, not a patient transfer lift. A user who cannot safely transfer onto or off the bath lift may require additional transfer equipment or caregiver assistance based on an appropriate assessment.
Common Bathing Challenges the Aquatec SRB Addresses
Need: Difficulty Lowering Into a Bathtub
Solution: The powered reinforced lifting mechanism lowers the seat from approximately 16.5 inches to just 2.5 inches above the tub floor, reducing the need for the user to physically lower themselves to the bottom of the bathtub.
Need: Difficulty Rising From the Tub
Solution: After bathing, the powered lift raises the user toward the upper transfer position instead of requiring them to rise from near floor level without assistance.
Need: Additional Upper-Body Support
Solution: The SRB’s adjustable side laterals provide additional support and positioning around the upper body compared with the standard reclining Aquatec configuration.
Need: More Relaxed Bathing Position
Solution: The backrest can recline by up to 40 degrees, allowing a more reclined bathing position when appropriate.
Need: Maximum Water Immersion
Solution: A minimum seat height of only 2.5 inches places the user substantially closer to the bottom of the bathtub for a deeper bathing experience.
Need: Bath Lift Removal After Use
Solution: The two-piece design allows the backrest and seat/base assembly to separate, making the bath lift easier to remove and more compact to store.

No. The Aquatec SRB is a bath lift that raises and lowers a person while seated in a bathtub. It does not mechanically transfer a person from a wheelchair, bed, or other surface onto the bath lift. Users unable to safely transfer onto the seat may require additional transfer assistance or equipment.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
