Description
VOCIC AX10 Bathtub Lift for Elderly – Multi-Functional Bathtub Lift Chair & Floor Lift
The VOCIC AX10 bathtub lift for elderly adults is a powered bathing aid designed to help people with limited mobility lower themselves toward the bottom of a bathtub and rise back up without relying on the strength required for a conventional bath transfer. With a seat that lowers to approximately 3.1 inches and rises to approximately 19.7 inches, the AX10 allows users to enjoy a lower bathing position while providing powered assistance when it is time to exit the tub.
Unlike a basic shower chair that remains at a fixed height, this bathtub lift chair provides powered vertical movement using a rechargeable 14.8V / 2.2Ah battery system and hand controller. Six large suction cups help stabilize the base inside an appropriate bathtub, while an IP68 waterproof rating supports use in the wet bathing environment.
The AX10 also has an important second function: it can serve as a floor lift for situations where a person with reduced mobility needs assistance rising from floor level. At approximately 30 lbs with a 300 lb working load capacity, it combines bathtub access and floor-level lifting assistance in one compact mobility aid. This makes it especially relevant for older adults, people with reduced leg strength or mobility, caregivers, and households looking for more than a standard fixed shower or bath seat.
Why Choose the VOCIC AX10 Bathtub Lift Chair?
Getting down into a bathtub can be difficult for someone who has trouble bending, lowering their body, standing back up, or transferring safely around a wet bathing area. A standard shower chair can provide a place to sit, but it does not actually lower the user toward the bottom of the bathtub or lift the user back toward transfer height.
The AX10 addresses this problem with a powered lifting range of approximately 3.1 to 19.7 inches. The user can remain seated while the chair moves vertically, reducing the amount of physical lowering and rising required from the user.
For shoppers comparing a bathtub lift for elderly adults, the AX10 combines several important characteristics: 300 lb capacity, approximately 30 lb product weight, rechargeable operation, six replaceable suction cups, IP68 waterproof protection, and dual bathtub-lift and floor-lift functionality.
These features make it substantially different from a fixed bath bench, shower stool, transfer bench, or manually operated bathing chair.
How Does the AX10 Bathtub Chair Lift Work?
The AX10 places the user on a powered seat that can move between a low bathing position and a raised transfer position. Once properly positioned and secured in a compatible bathtub, the user sits on the chair and operates the lift using the supplied hand controller.
The seat can descend to approximately 3.1 inches from its lowest position and rise to approximately 19.7 inches. This large vertical travel range allows the user to get much closer to the bottom of the tub than with a conventional fixed-height bath chair.
When bathing is complete, the powered mechanism raises the user back toward the top of the bathtub, where the user can complete the appropriate transfer out of the chair.
The AX10 does not eliminate the need to assess the user’s ability to transfer onto and off the seat. Individual strength, balance, mobility, bathtub dimensions, bathroom layout, caregiver assistance, and transfer technique should all be considered when determining whether a bathtub chair lift is appropriate.
Lowers to Approximately 3.1 Inches
One of the most important differences between a bathtub lift and a standard bath chair is how low the user can be positioned inside the bathtub.
The AX10 lowers to approximately 3.1 inches, allowing the seat to move substantially closer to the bottom of the bathtub. This can provide a more traditional seated bathing position than remaining near the rim of the tub on a fixed bath bench.
For someone specifically searching for a bathtub lift for elderly family members because they miss being able to sit lower in the bath, minimum seat height is one of the most important specifications to compare between products.
The actual bathing position will also depend on the user’s body dimensions, bathtub depth, seat cushioning, and the specific installation environment.
Raises to Approximately 19.7 Inches
When it is time to exit the bathtub, the AX10 can raise its seat to approximately 19.7 inches.
The purpose of this upper position is to bring the user back toward a more practical transfer height instead of requiring the person to stand directly from near the bottom of the bathtub.
This is particularly relevant for older adults and people whose difficulty is not necessarily sitting during a bath, but lowering themselves into the tub and getting back up afterward.
Before ordering, compare the AX10’s lifting range with the height and dimensions of the intended bathtub and consider how the user will transfer onto and off the seat.
300 lb Weight Capacity
The VOCIC AX10 supports a working load of approximately 300 lbs.
This capacity accommodates many adult users while allowing the lift itself to remain relatively manageable at approximately 30 lbs.
Weight capacity should never be considered by itself when selecting a bath lift. Buyers should also compare the user’s body dimensions with the 15.7-inch seat width and approximately 20.8-inch seat length to determine whether the seating area is appropriate.
Users should remain within the specified working load and follow the product’s operating and positioning instructions during use.
Only 30 lbs for Easier Handling
The AX10 weighs approximately 30 lbs, an important consideration when the bath lift needs to be installed, removed, repositioned, cleaned, or stored.
A lower product weight can also matter when a caregiver or family member is responsible for managing the equipment between uses.
The 30 lb weight should still be evaluated realistically. Anyone expected to lift or reposition the AX10 should be physically capable of handling the device safely, particularly around a bathtub where surfaces may be wet or confined.
IP68 Waterproof Protection
Because a bathtub lift chair operates directly in a wet environment, water resistance is a fundamental product consideration. The AX10 has an IP68 waterproof rating.
Its hand controller is designed for use around the bathtub and provides control of the powered lifting system from the seated position.
Even with a waterproof design, the product should be operated, charged, maintained, and stored according to its instructions. The charger and other components intended for dry-area use should never be treated as submerged bathtub equipment.
Six Large Suction Cups for Bathtub Stability
The AX10 base uses six 3.9-inch suction cups to help secure the bath lift to a suitable bathtub surface.
This is particularly important because the chair must remain appropriately positioned as the user is raised and lowered.
The suction cups are also replaceable, allowing worn components to be replaced rather than treating them as a permanent part of the base.
Suction performance depends on the bathtub surface and proper installation. The base should be positioned on a compatible, clean surface and checked before use. Textured, uneven, damaged, or otherwise incompatible bathtub surfaces may affect suction performance.
Rechargeable Battery with Approximately 10 Uses
The AX10 operates from a rechargeable 14.8V / 2.2Ah battery, allowing the lifting system to function without operating from a household power cord while the user is in the bathtub.
A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours, and the battery can provide approximately 10 uses per full charge under normal operating conditions.
The charging system accepts approximately 100–240VAC input, and a charger is included with the lift.
Actual number of lifting cycles can vary with operating conditions, user weight, battery condition, and how the lift is used. Maintaining an adequate charge before bathing is an important part of routine product use.
More Than a Bath Lift: Also Functions as a Floor Lift
One of the AX10’s most distinctive features is its multi-functional design. In addition to functioning as a bathtub chair lift, the AX10 can also be used as a floor lift.
For a person with reduced mobility who is already on the floor and cannot readily rise without assistance, the AX10 can provide powered elevation from a low position toward a higher seated position.
This secondary function can be valuable in a home where the same user who has difficulty lowering into and rising from a bathtub may also have difficulty getting back up from floor level.
A floor lift is not a substitute for emergency medical care or an assessment after a fall. If an injury, head impact, significant pain, new weakness, loss of consciousness, or another medical concern is suspected, the person should not simply be lifted before appropriate help is obtained.
Bathtub Lift Chair vs. Shower Chair: What Is the Difference?
A shower chair generally provides a fixed elevated seat for someone who needs to sit while bathing. It does not normally lower the user toward the floor of the bathtub or raise the user back up.
A bathtub lift chair such as the AX10 is powered and moves vertically. The AX10 lowers to approximately 3.1 inches and raises to approximately 19.7 inches, helping address one of the hardest parts of tub bathing for someone with limited mobility: getting down and back up.
A fixed shower chair may be sufficient for someone who simply needs seated showering. A powered bathtub lift may be more appropriate for a user who specifically wants to bathe lower in the tub but has difficulty safely lowering or raising their body.
Bathtub Lift vs. Tub Transfer Bench
A tub transfer bench and a powered bathtub chair lift solve different bathing-access problems.
A transfer bench generally spans the side of the bathtub so the user can sit outside the tub and move across the bench rather than stepping directly over the bathtub wall. The user typically remains at an elevated seating level during bathing.
The AX10 instead provides powered vertical movement inside the bathtub, allowing the user to descend much closer to the tub floor and then rise back toward transfer height.
The better choice depends on the person’s transfer ability, balance, bathing preference, bathroom layout, tub dimensions, and whether sitting low in the bathtub is an important goal.
Will the AX10 Fit My Bathtub?
Bathtub compatibility should be checked before purchasing any bathtub lift for elderly or mobility-limited users.
The AX10 itself measures approximately 28 inches long by 16.9 inches wide by 8.7 inches high in its listed product dimensions. The seat is approximately 20.8 inches long by 15.7 inches wide, and six suction cups secure the base.
Measure the usable interior floor of the bathtub, tub depth, available width, contours, drain location, and surrounding transfer area. The chair needs sufficient space to sit correctly and operate through its lifting range without interference.
The bathtub surface also matters because the suction cups need an appropriate surface for secure attachment. Do not assume that every bathtub shape, texture, or configuration will be compatible simply because the lift physically fits inside it.
Who Is the AX10 Bathtub Lift Best For?
The AX10 is designed for older adults and other people with reduced mobility who have difficulty lowering themselves into a bathtub or rising back toward transfer height.
It can be particularly useful for someone who still wants a lower seated bathing experience but finds the physical movement required to get down and back up increasingly difficult.
It may also be relevant in a caregiver-assisted environment where powered raising and lowering can reduce the amount of manual lifting involved in the bathing routine.
Because it can also function as a floor lift, the AX10 may be especially attractive to households looking for one device that can address both bathtub access and floor-level lifting assistance.
It may not be appropriate for every person with mobility limitations. Users who cannot maintain an appropriate seated position, cannot safely transfer onto or off the chair, exceed its capacity, or require specialized positioning or transfer support should consider whether a different bathing or patient-transfer solution better matches their needs.
What Should You Check Before Buying a Bathtub Lift for Elderly Users?
Choosing a bathtub lift for elderly adults should involve more than comparing price or weight capacity. The most important considerations include minimum and maximum seat height, seat dimensions, bathtub compatibility, user weight, product weight, suction system, waterproof protection, battery capacity, controls, transfer ability, and the user’s ability to remain appropriately positioned while the lift moves.
For the AX10, the key numbers are straightforward: approximately 30 lb product weight, 300 lb load capacity, 3.1-inch minimum height, 19.7-inch maximum height, 15.7-inch seat width, six 3.9-inch replaceable suction cups, IP68 waterproof rating, and approximately 10 uses from a full charge.
Before ordering, consider the complete bathing routine: Can the user safely get onto the chair? Is the seat appropriately sized? Will the base fit the bathtub? Is the bathtub surface compatible with the suction cups? Can the user operate the controller? And can the user safely transfer off the chair once it is raised?
Common Bathing Problem → AX10 Solution
Problem: The user can no longer safely lower themselves toward the bottom of the bathtub.
AX10 Solution: The powered seat lowers to approximately 3.1 inches, reducing the amount of physical lowering required from the user.
Problem: Standing back up from a low bathtub position is difficult.
AX10 Solution: The chair raises to approximately 19.7 inches, bringing the user back toward a more practical transfer height.
Problem: A fixed shower chair keeps the user too high for the desired bathing experience.
AX10 Solution: Powered vertical travel allows the user to sit considerably lower in the tub than with a conventional fixed-height chair.
Problem: The household also needs a way to assist a mobility-limited person from floor level.
AX10 Solution: Its multi-functional design allows the chair to also function as a floor lift when appropriate.
