Description
Lumex PVC Linen Cart with Cover – Clean Linen Storage and Transport in 4 Sizes
The Lumex PVC linen cart with cover keeps clean sheets, towels and gowns stored, covered and ready to roll to the room that needs them. Graham-Field builds the frame from PVC pipe, puts it on four casters (two locking, two non-locking) and drapes a fabric cover over the whole cart that closes with hook and loop on both sides.
It comes in four sizes. The small carts (8523 and 8524) are 33″ wide with 20″ x 25″ shelves, and the large carts (8525 and 8526) are about 57″ wide with 24″ x 50″ shelves. Pick the model in the dropdown above.
It’s a common linen cart hospital floors, clinics and laundry rooms use for the clean side of the linen flow, and it’s one of the more practical linen carts for nursing homes, where one cart often serves a whole hallway.
Why Choose the Lumex PVC Linen Cart?
Graham-Field designed it for one job: storing and moving linens. The push handle design helps reduce wrist injuries, according to Graham-Field, and the cover opens on both sides, so staff can reach the shelves from either side of the cart and close it again for complete enclosure. Graham-Field makes the covers in anti-bacterial mesh or anti-bacterial solid vinyl, and two of the four casters lock so the cart stays put while it’s loaded.
Who Is the Lumex Linen Cart Best For?
It’s a good fit for:
- Assisted living and long-term care homes that move clean linen down a hallway
- Clinics, surgery centers and physician offices that stock gowns, drapes and towels
- Therapy practices and spas that go through stacks of towels every day
- Laundry rooms that need covered storage between the dryer and the floor
It’s not a soiled linen hamper. For used linen, look at a hamper stand like the McKesson PREMIER hamper stand with foot pedal or the Medegen soiled linen hamper stand.
Choosing Your Options
There’s one dropdown: Model. Each model is a different size and shelf count. The numbers below are from Graham-Field’s product sheet.
| Model | Shelves | Height | Width x Depth | Shelf Size | Space Between Shelves | Weight Capacity (evenly distributed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8523 Small | 3 | 51 1/4″ | 33″ x 20″ | 20″ x 25″ | 12″ | 75 lb |
| 8524 Small | 4 | 65 1/2″ | 33″ x 20″ | 20″ x 25″ | 12″ | 75 lb |
| 8525 Large | 2 | Ask us | 56 1/2″ x 24″ | 24″ x 50″ | 16 1/2″ | 150 lb |
| 8526 Large | 3 | 65″ | 58″ x 24″ | 24″ x 50″ | 16″ | 175 lb |
Small or large? The small carts are narrower (33″) and easier to park in a closet or hallway, and the 4-shelf 8524 adds a shelf on the same footprint. The large carts hold far more per shelf (24″ x 50″) and suit laundry rooms and central supply. Measure your doorways and elevator before you pick a large cart. Graham-Field lists the 8525 height as 45 1/4″ on its product sheet and 42 1/2″ on its web page, so ask us if the exact height matters.
Cover That Opens on Both Sides
The fabric cover drapes over the frame and fastens to it. It has a hook and loop opening on both sides, so you can load from the laundry side and unload from the hallway side without turning the cart around. Closed, it covers the cart completely. Graham-Field makes the covers in royal blue, forest green and mauve. Call us at 585-505-6665 to confirm the cover color before you order.
PVC Frame on Locking Casters
The frame is PVC pipe joined with fittings and stainless steel screws. It rolls on four casters: two lock to keep the cart in place while staff load it, and two roll free. Graham-Field’s assembly sheet for these carts says they’re made in the U.S.A.
Easy Assembly
The cart ships partially assembled. In the box: the cart, four casters (two locking, two non-locking), two handles, the linen cover and six 1/2″ stainless steel screws. You push the casters into their fittings and screw them in, drape the cover and fasten it, then screw the handles into their fittings. If a cart arrives fully knocked down, Graham-Field’s sheet shows how to fit the vertical pipes first. Make sure every screw is tight before you load it.
Linen Cart vs. Utility Cart
Both run on the same kind of PVC frame. The linen cart adds a full fabric cover, which keeps clean linen covered while it’s stored and moved. An open cart like the Pedigo stainless steel utility cart is better for supplies and equipment you need to grab fast. See every cart we carry in Medical Carts.
Common Problem → Lumex Linen Cart Solution
Problem: An assisted living home stacks clean towels on an open shelf in the hallway, and staff waste time going back to the laundry room for sheets.
Solution: One 8526 large 3-shelf cart holds a hallway’s worth of clean linen behind a closed cover, and it rolls to the rooms on its casters. Staff open whichever side faces them, take what they need and close it.
“Will it fit in our linen closet?” The small 8523 and 8524 are 33″ wide and 20″ deep, so they’re the ones to pick for a closet or a tight hallway.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
