Description

Lumex Walkabout Lite Rollator – 14.5 lb Four-Wheel Rollator With Seat, Backbar and Basket

The Lumex Walkabout Lite rollator is the lightest model in the Walkabout family: an aluminum frame that weighs just 14.5 lbs, rated by Lumex for users up to 300 lbs. It has a padded seat, a removable padded straight backbar, locking loop brakes, durable 6″ wheels and a basket.

People shopping for a Walkabout Lite rollator usually want one thing first: something light enough to lift into a car without help. At 14.5 lbs, this Lumex rollator is 2 lbs lighter than the Walkabout Contour Deluxe, and it folds quickly into a compact unit for the trunk or a closet.

The handles adjust from 32″ to 37″, the seat sits 22.5″ off the floor, and it comes in eight frame colors. Choose yours in the dropdown above.

Why Choose the Walkabout Lite?

It’s light, simple and easy to live with. Every part you use daily is right there: a padded seat for a rest, a backbar that pulls off with two knobs, loop brakes you squeeze to slow and push down to park, and a basket that hangs under the seat or on the front. Graham-Field’s portal lists a five-year limited warranty, and you get eight colors to pick from.

Who Is the Walkabout Lite Best For?

The Walkabout Lite is a good fit for:

  • Older adults who walk on their own but want a seat close by for rest stops
  • Anyone who needs to lift the rollator into a car without help
  • Shorter to average-height users (handles 32″ to 37″)
  • Apartments and homes with smooth floors, plus sidewalks and store aisles
  • People who want a bright frame color that’s easy to spot

Still deciding between a walker and a rollator? Try our Walker Assessment Tool for a quick recommendation.

Who May Need a Different Rollator?

  • Taller users: the handles top out at 37″. If your wrist-crease height is higher, look at the Lumex Walkabout Contour Deluxe Rollator (up to 39″) or the tall Allura LX.
  • People who walk on rough ground: the 6″ wheels suit smooth surfaces best. Bigger 8″ wheels, like those on the Contour Deluxe, roll over cracks and grass more easily.
  • Users who need a wider seat: the seat is 14″ wide. The Lumex Walkabout Allura Rollator has an 18″ seat.
  • Users over 300 lbs: choose a bariatric rollator.
  • Anyone who needs to be pushed while seated: Lumex says rollators aren’t meant to be propelled while seated. Use a transport chair.

Just 14.5 lbs

The aluminum frame keeps the Walkabout Lite at 14.5 lbs, the lightest weight in this group of Lumex rollators. That’s the number that matters when you’re lifting it into a trunk after every appointment.

300 lb Weight Capacity

Lumex rates the Walkabout Lite for up to 300 lbs, evenly distributed, for walking and for sitting on the seat.

Removable Straight Backbar With Pull Knobs

The padded straight backbar comes off with easy-release pull knobs. Leave it on for support when you sit, or take it off for a lighter, more open frame.

Locking “Quick Stop” Loop Brakes

Pull up on the loops to slow down or stop. Push them down to lock the wheels before you sit. It’s the same simple brake used across the Walkabout line.

Basket Under the Seat or in Front

The included basket can go underneath the seat or on the front, so a purse, groceries or a water bottle ride along where you prefer them.

Choosing Your Options

There’s one dropdown: Frame Color. Graham-Field’s spec sheet lists the same frame, seat, wheels, weight and measurements for all eight colors, so choose the one you like.

Frame Color Graham-Field code
Aqua RJ4300AQ
Blue (Royal Blue) RJ4300B
Champagne RJ4300CH
Green (Teal Green) RJ4300G
Black RJ4300K
Lavender RJ4300L
Pink RJ4300P
Burgundy RJ4300R

Want a closer look at a color? Call us at 585-505-6665.

Walkabout Lite vs. Walkabout Contour Deluxe

Both are Lumex aluminum rollators rated for 300 lbs with a padded seat, a basket and loop brakes. The Lite is 2 lbs lighter (14.5 vs. 16.5 lbs), has 6″ wheels and a straight backbar, and its handles adjust from 32″ to 37″. The Contour Deluxe has bigger 8″ wheels for outdoor use, a contoured backbar, rear reflectors and handles from 34″ to 39″. If you’re mostly indoors or lifting it often, go Lite. If you walk outside a lot or you’re taller, go Contour Deluxe.

Common Problem → Walkabout Lite Solution

Problem: Grandma lives alone and drives herself to church and the pharmacy. Her old rollator is so heavy she leaves it at home, and then she has nowhere to sit when her legs get tired.

Solution: The Walkabout Lite weighs 14.5 lbs and folds compact, so she can lift it into the back seat on her own. When she needs a break, she pushes the loop brakes down to lock and sits on the padded seat.

“She’s only 5’1″. Will the handles go low enough?” The handles adjust down to 32″. Measure from the floor to her wrist crease in her everyday shoes. If it’s between 32″ and 37″, it fits.

Sizing & Fit

  • Handle height: 32″ to 37″. Measure floor to wrist crease in everyday shoes.
  • Seat: 14″ wide, 13.5″ deep, 22.5″ off the floor.
  • Doorways: 24.5″ wide overall and 27.5″ deep. Doorways on your route should be wider than 24.5″.
  • Hand room: 16″ between the hand grips.
  • Weight: 300 lbs maximum, evenly distributed.

Care & Cleaning

Follow the care steps in the Lumex user manual that comes with the rollator. As general care, wipe the frame and seat with a damp cloth and mild soap, dry them, keep the wheels free of hair and string, and check that the brakes hold before each use. If they don’t, stop using the rollator and call us at 585-505-6665.

What’s Included

Graham-Field lists the rollator with its padded seat, the removable padded straight backbar, the basket (fits under the seat or in front) and an easy-to-read user manual. Ask us to confirm anything else before you order.

Warranty

Graham-Field’s dealer portal lists a five (5) year limited warranty on the Walkabout Lite. As an authorized Graham-Field dealer, we’ll help you with any warranty claim.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
