Description

Reliable. Battery-Powered. Built for Safer Full-Body Transfers.

The Invacare Reliant 450 Electric Patient Hoist is a premium battery-powered transfer lift designed to make patient handling safer, smoother, and more comfortable for both caregivers and patients. Built for homecare, hospitals, rehab centers, assisted living, and long-term care environments, this electric patient hoist supports users up to 450 lbs and helps reduce the physical strain of manual transfers.

If you are searching for an electric patient lift for sale that offers strong lifting power, reliable battery operation, floor pickup capability, low-bed access, and broad sling compatibility, the Invacare 450 Reliant is one of the most trusted and widely used transfer lifts available today. Its wide lift range allows transfers from the floor, wheelchairs, commodes, beds, and high surfaces with at least 4.5” under-bed clearance, making it a highly versatile choice for real-world caregiving environments.

Two Versions Available – Manual Base or Power Opening Base

The Invacare Reliant 450 is available in two different configurations depending on caregiver needs and transfer frequency.

  • RPL450-1: Manual opening low-base model
  • RPL450-2: Power opening low-base model

Both versions include the same electric lifting system and 450 lb weight capacity. The primary difference is how the base legs widen and narrow during positioning.

✔️ Manual Base Version (RPL450-1)
The caregiver manually adjusts the base legs using the padded shifter handle. This version is excellent for caregivers seeking a more affordable powered patient lift while still benefiting from electric lifting support.

✔️ Power Opening Base Version (RPL450-2)
The powered base option electronically widens and narrows the legs with less physical effort. This is especially helpful for caregivers performing multiple daily transfers or caring for heavier patients where easier positioning is important.

Both versions provide excellent stability, maneuverability, and transfer flexibility for homecare and facility environments.

Why This Electric Patient Hoist Stands Out

This lift is designed for caregivers who need reliable electric lifting support, strong patient capacity, advanced safety systems, and dependable long-term daily performance.

✔️ 450 lb electric lifting capacity
✔️ Floor and high-surface transfers supported
✔️ Removable battery prevents downtime
✔️ Total pinch-point protection design
✔️ 360-degree padded swivel bar
✔️ Optional powered opening base available

Who This Invacare Reliant 450 Is Best For

The Invacare Reliant 450 is best for patients who cannot safely stand, pivot, or transfer independently and require full caregiver assistance.

✔️ Elderly users needing full transfer support
✔️ Patients with mobility limitations
✔️ Bariatric and heavier patient transfers
✔️ Caregivers reducing lifting strain
✔️ Rehab and assisted living facilities
✔️ Homecare providers needing powered support

This lift is ideal for bed-to-wheelchair transfers, wheelchair-to-commode transfers, chair transfers, floor recovery support, and high-surface transfers when used with the proper sling configuration.

Battery-Powered Electric Lifting System

The Reliant 450 uses a quiet, long-life motor combined with a removable battery-powered lifting system to provide smooth, controlled patient transfers with less physical effort from caregivers.

✔️ Quiet long-life electric motor
✔️ Smooth lifting and lowering operation
✔️ Hand pendant simplifies transfers
✔️ Removable quick-release battery pack

The electronic system includes two 24-volt batteries — one battery powers the lift while another can remain charging in the wall-mounted charging station. This helps reduce downtime and allows caregivers to continue transfers more efficiently.

The quick-release battery system is especially valuable in care facilities or busy homecare environments where transfers happen frequently throughout the day.

Wide Lift Range for Floor & Bed Transfers

One of the strongest advantages of this electric patient hoist is its wide lift range, allowing safe transfers from both low and elevated surfaces.

✔️ Floor-level recovery transfers supported
✔️ Bed-to-wheelchair transfers simplified
✔️ High-surface lifting capability
✔️ 4.5” under-bed clearance access

The low base design allows the lift to roll under many beds and chairs, while the wide lift range improves flexibility across different patient transfer situations.

Advanced Safety Features for Caregiver Confidence

The Reliant 450 includes multiple advanced safety protections designed to improve patient safety during transfers.

✔️ Manual emergency lowering system
✔️ Anti-entrapment lowering protection
✔️ Emergency off button included
✔️ Total pinch-point protection covers moving parts
✔️ Rear locking caster brakes standard

If the boom encounters resistance while lowering, the anti-entrapment system automatically stops movement to help reduce injury risk. In the event of total power loss, the manual emergency lowering system allows the patient to be lowered safely and gently.

360° Swivel Bar & Sling Compatibility

The padded swivel bar rotates 360 degrees and includes a six-point hookup system for broad sling compatibility and smoother patient positioning.

✔️ Supports Invacare chain-free slings
✔️ Compatible with chain and strap slings
✔️ Six-point hookup improves positioning
✔️ Padded bar adds patient comfort

Compatible sling types include:

  • Heavy-duty slings
  • Full body / comfort slings
  • Divided leg / universal slings
  • Easy fit slings
  • Toileting slings
  • Dress toileting high slings

The correct sling depends on patient size, posture, head support needs, transfer goals, and toileting requirements.

Optional Digital Scale Available

The Invacare Reliant Digital Scale can retrofit onto Reliant 450 and Reliant 600 lifts for convenient patient weighing during transfers.

✔️ Four-button easy operation
✔️ Automatic shut-off preserves battery
✔️ Useful for rehab and clinical care
✔️ Helps monitor patient weight safely

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
