Description

VOCIC AX15 Patient Floor Lift Chair – Electric Chair Lift From Floor, 440 lb Capacity

Getting someone safely back up after they have ended up on the floor can be one of the most difficult situations for a family member or caregiver. The VOCIC AX15 Patient Floor Lift Chair is designed specifically for this challenge. Instead of requiring a caregiver to manually lift someone from near floor level, the AX15 provides a powered seated platform that lowers to approximately 2.7 inches from the floor and electrically raises the user to approximately 22 inches high.

This makes the AX15 especially relevant for families searching for a floor lift for elderly users, an electric chair lift from floor level, or a more chair-like alternative to traditional floor-recovery equipment. Once the user is safely positioned on the seat, the powered lifting mechanism gradually raises the entire seated support rather than requiring the caregiver to physically lift the person’s body weight.

What particularly separates the AX15 from many portable floor lifts is its chair-style design. The user is supported by a padded seat, tall padded backrest, wide armrests and front support belt while being raised. It also supports up to 440 lbs, folds into a compact upright configuration for storage, and incorporates small wheels into the base to make repositioning the folded lift easier.

Why Choose the VOCIC AX15 Patient Floor Lift Chair?

The AX15 addresses a very specific mobility problem: how to raise a person who is already on or very close to the floor without relying primarily on caregiver strength.

A conventional chair starts too high to help someone who is sitting on the floor. A caregiver may also be unable to safely perform a manual floor lift, particularly when the person being assisted is larger or has limited mobility. The AX15 approaches the problem differently. Its seat lowers to approximately 2.7 inches, creating an extremely low seating position from which an appropriate user can be raised. The powered lifting system then elevates the seated user to approximately 22 inches, bringing them much closer to ordinary chair, sofa or bed seating height.

For someone comparing the best floor lift for elderly family members, the combination of low floor access, powered elevation, supportive chair-style seating, a 440 lb capacity and folding storage makes the AX15 a particularly practical option to consider.

Lowers to Just 2.7 Inches From the Floor

The defining feature of this patient floor lift chair is how close its seat can get to the floor. At its lowest position, the AX15 seat is approximately 2.7 inches above floor level.

That matters because floor recovery requires a very different design from simply helping someone rise from an ordinary chair. By bringing the seat close to floor level, the AX15 creates a low seating surface onto which an appropriate user can be positioned before the powered lifting process begins.

This is particularly useful when someone has ended up sitting on the floor and cannot independently return to normal seating height. The user still needs to be safely positioned onto the lift and may require caregiver assistance depending on their mobility, balance and physical condition.

Raises the User Up to 22 Inches

Once the user is properly positioned, the powered lifting system raises the seat from approximately 2.7 inches to 22 inches. This wide lifting range allows the AX15 to bring a person from near-floor level toward the height of many common household seating surfaces.

For perspective, beds and sofas can vary significantly in height. The AX15’s approximately 22-inch maximum seat height can bring the user much closer to a practical seated transfer level without requiring the caregiver to manually raise the person’s full body weight from the floor.

If the AX15 will be used alongside a particular bed, sofa or chair, measure that surface before purchasing and compare it with the AX15’s approximately 2.7-to-22-inch lifting range.

Electric Lifting Reduces Manual Caregiver Lifting

One of the biggest reasons to consider an electric chair lift from floor level is to reduce the physical lifting demanded from a caregiver.

The AX15 uses an electrically powered lifting mechanism controlled through the included hand control. Rather than attempting to manually raise the user’s full body weight, the caregiver can operate the powered system to gradually raise or lower the chair after the user has been safely positioned.

This does not eliminate the need for caregiver involvement. Depending on the user’s condition, assistance may still be required for positioning, balance and transfers. The AX15 is best understood as a powered floor-recovery aid that helps address one of the most physically difficult parts of the process: raising someone from near floor level back toward normal seated height.

440 lb Weight Capacity for a Wider Range of Users

The VOCIC AX15 supports users weighing up to 440 lbs (200 kg). This substantial capacity makes it suitable for consideration by households and caregivers who need more support capacity than many lighter-duty floor-recovery devices provide.

The lift uses a sturdy steel and plastic frame structure designed to support the user throughout the powered lifting cycle. Its extended floor-contacting base creates a broad footprint while the chair raises and lowers.

Weight capacity alone does not determine proper fit. The user’s body dimensions, ability to remain safely seated, positioning needs, balance and transfer requirements should all be considered when choosing a floor lift for elderly or mobility-limited users.

A Floor Lift With Chair-Style Seating

The AX15 is different from floor-recovery devices that provide only a small lifting platform. Its design more closely resembles a supportive chair, with a padded seat, tall padded backrest, wide armrests and front support belt.

The leather-style cushioned seating surface provides a softer place to sit during the lifting process while also offering a surface designed for convenient everyday maintenance. The broad padded seat supports the user across the seated area rather than relying on a narrow lifting point.

For someone who may feel vulnerable or unstable after reaching the floor, the chair-style configuration provides a more familiar seated position while the powered system raises them toward ordinary seating height.

Wide Armrests Provide Additional Seated Support

The AX15 incorporates wide armrests on both sides of the chair, giving the user additional places to position and rest their arms while seated and being raised.

The armrests can also be moved out of the way when appropriate, creating more open side access for positioning and transfers. This can be particularly helpful when a caregiver needs additional access to the user before or after the lifting process.

Stable T-Shaped Base for Floor-Level Lifting

Stability becomes particularly important when a lifting device travels from only a few inches above the floor to normal seating height. The AX15 uses a broad T-shaped floor base with extended supports that remain positioned against the floor as the chair raises and lowers.

The base footprint is approximately 23.7 inches (60.2 cm) long × 19.8 inches (50.3 cm) wide. This footprint should be considered when determining whether there is sufficient room to position and operate the lift beside a sofa, bed, chair or other intended location.

Foldable One-Piece Design for Easier Storage

A floor lift can be extremely useful when needed, but most families do not want another large piece of equipment permanently occupying the room. The AX15 addresses that problem with a collapsible one-piece design.

Instead of requiring the primary structure to be completely taken apart for storage, the AX15 folds into a compact upright configuration. This makes it easier to keep the lift available in a bedroom, living room or another convenient location without leaving it fully extended throughout the day.

For shoppers specifically looking for a portable floor lift, this folding construction is one of the AX15’s most practical advantages. At approximately 44.53 lbs, it is still a substantial powered lifting device, but its folding design and integrated wheels make repositioning and storage considerably more manageable.

Integrated Wheels Help With Repositioning

The AX15 incorporates small wheels near the base to make repositioning the folded lift easier. Rather than requiring the entire approximately 44.53 lb unit to be carried every time it needs to be stored or moved, the wheeled base helps make everyday handling more manageable.

The AX15 is a lifting device rather than a wheelchair. The integrated wheels are intended to help with repositioning the equipment and should not be used to transport a seated person around the home.

Patient Floor Lift Chair vs. Traditional Patient Lift

The AX15 and a traditional full-body patient lift solve different transfer problems.

A conventional Hoyer-style patient lift typically uses a sling to support and transfer a person between surfaces. The AX15 instead provides a powered chair-style platform that lowers close to the floor and raises the user while they remain seated on the chair.

That makes the AX15 particularly relevant when the primary need is helping an appropriate user return from floor level to a practical seated height. A person who requires full-body sling support, cannot maintain a safe seated position, or requires fully dependent transfers may need a traditional full-body patient lift instead.

Is the AX15 a Sit-to-Stand Lift?

Despite the AX15 sometimes being described as a lift chair, its primary function is best understood as a patient floor lift chair. It electrically raises the seat and seated user together from approximately 2.7 inches above the floor to approximately 22 inches high.

It should not be confused with a conventional sit-to-stand patient lift that supports a user while actively transitioning into a standing position. The AX15 is designed primarily to elevate a seated person from near floor level toward normal chair or transfer height.

Who Is the VOCIC AX15 Best For?

The AX15 may be especially useful for an older adult or mobility-limited person who may end up on the floor and have difficulty getting back to ordinary seating height. It can also provide valuable assistance for a spouse, family member or caregiver who may not have the physical strength to manually lift someone from the floor.

It is particularly relevant if you are searching for a floor lift for elderly family members that provides a supportive chair-style seating surface rather than only a small lifting platform, or if you want an electric floor lift that can be folded and stored when it is not needed.

The user must still be able to be safely positioned and supported on the chair. Individuals with complex transfer needs, poor seated stability, significant contractures, acute injuries or other conditions that affect safe positioning may require a different transfer method or professional assessment.

Can the AX15 Help After an Elderly Person Falls?

If an older adult is uninjured and it has been determined that moving them is appropriate, the AX15 is designed to address the physical challenge of raising someone who is at floor level. The chair can be lowered close to the floor, the user appropriately positioned on the seat, and the powered lift used to bring them back toward ordinary seating height.

A floor lift should not be used to bypass medical evaluation after a potentially serious fall. If there is significant pain, suspected head injury, possible fracture, loss of consciousness, new weakness, or uncertainty about whether the person should be moved, seek appropriate medical or emergency assistance before attempting to lift them.

Can the AX15 Help Transfer Someone Toward a Bed or Sofa?

The AX15 raises its seating surface to approximately 22 inches high, bringing the user toward the height of many common household chairs, sofas and beds. This can make the next stage of an appropriate seated transfer easier than attempting to transfer directly from floor level.

Furniture height, clearance and the user’s transfer ability all matter. Before purchasing, measure the intended bed, sofa or chair and compare it with the AX15’s lifting range and base dimensions. The AX15 should not be assumed to provide a direct lateral transfer to every furniture configuration.

What Should You Measure Before Buying the AX15?

Before choosing the AX15, consider both the user’s fit and the space where the lift will operate. The AX15 has an approximately 17.3-inch seat width and a base footprint of approximately 19.8 × 23.7 inches, so the user’s body dimensions and available floor space should both be considered.

You should also compare the AX15’s approximately 2.7-to-22-inch seat-height range with the bed, sofa, chair or other surface involved in the user’s transfer. Enough clear floor space should remain around the base for proper positioning and operation.

Common Caregiving Problem → AX15 Floor Lift Solution

Problem: An elderly parent, spouse or mobility-limited person ends up on the floor and cannot independently return to a chair. The caregiver is concerned about trying to physically lift the person’s full body weight from floor level.

AX15 Solution: Lower the powered chair to approximately 2.7 inches from the floor, safely position the appropriate user on the padded seating surface, and use the electric hand control to raise the seated user toward a normal chair-height position—up to approximately 22 inches.

For families asking, “Is there an electric chair that can lift an elderly person from the floor?”, this is the specific problem the VOCIC AX15 is designed to address.

The AX15 raises its seating surface to approximately 22 inches from the floor.

What is the AX15 weight capacity?

The VOCIC AX15 has a maximum weight capacity of 440 lbs (200 kg).

Is the AX15 a floor lift for elderly users?

Yes. The AX15 may be suitable for an elderly person or another mobility-limited user who needs assistance being raised from floor level, provided the individual can be safely positioned and supported on the chair and the device is appropriate for their transfer needs.

Can the AX15 lift someone after a fall?

The AX15 is designed to help raise an appropriate seated user from near floor level. After a fall, first determine whether moving the person is appropriate. If an injury is suspected or the person’s condition is uncertain, seek medical or emergency assistance before attempting a transfer.

Does the AX15 require a caregiver to manually lift the person?

The AX15 uses an electric powered mechanism to raise and lower the seating surface, reducing the need for a caregiver to manually lift the user’s full body weight from the floor. Caregiver assistance may still be required for safe positioning, balance and transfers.

Is the AX15 the same as a Hoyer lift?

No. A traditional Hoyer-style patient lift generally uses a sling to provide full-body support during a transfer. The AX15 is a chair-style floor lift that raises the user while seated on its padded platform.

Is the AX15 a sit-to-stand patient lift?

The AX15 is primarily a patient floor lift chair. It raises the seat and seated user together from near floor level to approximately 22 inches high. It is different from a conventional sit-to-stand lift designed to support a user while transitioning into a standing position.

Does the AX15 use a patient sling?

No traditional full-body patient sling is used for the chair-style lifting function. The user is positioned directly on the padded seating surface and supported by the chair structure during lifting.

Does the AX15 have a padded seat and backrest?

Yes. The AX15 features a padded leather-style seat, tall padded backrest and wide armrests to provide a supportive chair-style seating position while the user is raised or lowered.

What is the AX15 seat width?

Does the AX15 fold for storage?

Yes. The AX15 uses a collapsible one-piece design that allows the chair to fold into a compact upright configuration without completely disassembling the primary structure.

Is the AX15 a portable floor lift?

The AX15 is designed to be easier to reposition and store through its folding construction and integrated base wheels. It weighs approximately 44.53 lbs, so it is portable in the sense of being foldable and movable rather than being an ultra-lightweight lifting device.

How much does the AX15 weigh?

The AX15 itself weighs approximately 44.53 lbs. Its packed shipping weight is approximately 55.1 lbs.

What is the AX15 frame made from?

The AX15 uses a steel and plastic frame structure designed to provide a sturdy base for its powered lifting system.

Does the AX15 include the hand control and charger?

Yes. The hand control and charger are both included with the VOCIC AX15.

How do I know when the AX15 controller is charged?

The charger’s indicator displays red while charging and green when fully charged. The hand controller itself does not illuminate simply because it is charging. The controller’s battery status can be checked when using the UP or DOWN control.

What is the AX15 rated input voltage?

The AX15 has a rated input voltage of 16.8 VDC.

Can the AX15 be used as a wheelchair?

No. The AX15 is a powered floor lifting device rather than a wheelchair or general-purpose seated transportation chair. Its integrated wheels are intended to assist with repositioning the equipment, not transporting a seated user around the home.

Will the AX15 work with my bed or sofa?

Compatibility depends on the height, surrounding clearance and transfer arrangement of the furniture. The AX15 raises from approximately 2.7 inches to 22 inches. Measure the intended bed, sofa or chair and available floor space before purchasing.

What should I measure before buying the AX15?

Consider the user’s body dimensions, the approximately 17.3-inch seat width, the approximately 19.8 × 23.7-inch base footprint, and the 2.7-to-22-inch lifting range. You should also measure the intended furniture height and the clear floor space available for positioning the lift.

Who may need a different type of patient lift?

A user who cannot safely maintain a seated position, requires full-body sling support, has complex positioning needs, or requires a fully dependent transfer may need a different type of patient lift. When transfer requirements are complex, an occupational therapist, physical therapist or other qualified healthcare professional can help determine the appropriate equipment.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
