Description

ComfyGO MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Heavy Duty Electric Wheelchair – Built for More Space, Strength & Travel

Finding a heavy duty electric wheelchair can be difficult when you need a higher weight capacity and more seating room but do not want an oversized power chair that is difficult to transport. The ComfyGO MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is designed specifically to bridge that gap. It supports up to 440 lbs, provides a spacious 20.5-inch seating area, folds for transportation, and uses dual 250W brushless motors for powered everyday mobility.

For someone searching for a bariatric power wheelchair with 400 lb capacity or greater, the 440 HD PLUS offers an especially useful combination: higher-capacity seating without giving up the convenience of a folding electric wheelchair. It can travel over pavement as well as suitable low grass, compacted dirt, gravel and other firm surfaces, while its intelligent electromagnetic braking system and five selectable speed levels give the user greater control over how the chair moves.

The 440 HD PLUS is also configurable around how you plan to use it. Choose the 12Ah lithium-ion battery for travel and up to approximately 12 miles of range, or select the 26Ah long-range battery for up to approximately 25 miles between charges. The 12Ah battery is accepted by most major airlines and cruise lines, while travelers should always confirm current mobility-device and lithium-battery requirements directly with their carrier before departure.

Why Choose the MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Heavy Duty Electric Wheelchair?

The 440 HD PLUS is best suited to users who need more capacity and seating room than a standard folding power wheelchair but still want something that can fold for storage or vehicle transport. Its 440 lb maximum capacity places it firmly in the heavy-duty category, while its folding frame provides a very different experience from many traditional bariatric power wheelchairs with large, non-folding bases.

That makes it a strong option for questions such as: “What folding electric wheelchair can support over 400 pounds?”, “Is there a bariatric power wheelchair I can take when traveling?”, or “What heavy duty power wheelchair has a wider seat without being a huge mobility chair?” The 440 HD PLUS was designed around exactly this combination of capacity, usable space, powered mobility and portability.

440 lb Weight Capacity for Heavy-Duty Mobility

The defining feature of the MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is its 440 lb maximum user weight capacity. For larger users, choosing a power wheelchair is about more than simply finding a chair that moves. The frame, seating space, motors and overall configuration all need to be appropriate for the user.

With its 440 lb rating, the 440 HD PLUS exceeds the capacity of many conventional folding power chairs. This makes it particularly relevant for shoppers comparing a bariatric power wheelchair 400 lb capacity model with a more portable folding electric wheelchair heavy duty design.

Spacious 20.5-Inch Seating Area

Higher weight capacity is only useful when the seating area is also appropriate for the person using the chair. The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS provides a 20.5-inch seating width, giving larger users more usable seating room than many narrower travel power chairs.

When choosing any bariatric or heavy-duty wheelchair, weight capacity should never be used as the only measure of fit. We recommend comparing the user’s seated hip width and positioning needs with the chair’s seating dimensions before ordering.

Dual 250W Brushless Motors – 500W Combined Power

The 440 HD PLUS is powered by two independent 250W brushless motors, providing 500W of combined motor power. The dual-motor configuration delivers the powered performance needed for everyday mobility while retaining the compact architecture of a folding electric wheelchair.

The chair is rated for inclines of up to approximately 9 degrees under appropriate operating conditions. It can also travel across common firm surfaces including pavement, brick, ramps, low grass, gravel and compacted dirt. Actual performance will depend on user weight, incline, surface condition, traction, battery charge and other environmental factors.

Up to 25 Miles With the Long-Range Battery

One of the biggest decisions when configuring the 440 HD PLUS is whether your priority is airline travel or maximum driving range.

The standard 12Ah lithium-ion battery provides up to approximately 12 miles of driving range and is the battery option intended for airline and cruise travel. For users who expect longer days away from a charger, the optional 26Ah lithium-ion battery increases the potential driving range to up to approximately 25 miles.

The 26Ah battery is the long-range choice but is not intended for airline or cruise travel. Actual range with either battery varies according to user weight, terrain, inclines, speed, temperature, weather, driving habits and battery condition.

A Heavy Duty Wheelchair Electric Design That Folds

A major advantage of the 440 HD PLUS is that its heavy-duty capacity does not require a permanently rigid power-chair base. The wheelchair folds manually into a much more compact configuration, making storage and vehicle transportation considerably more practical.

The chair measures approximately 38 inches long × 26 inches wide × 36 inches high when open and approximately 16 inches × 26 inches × 29 inches when folded. Because trunks, SUVs and cargo areas vary significantly, always compare the folded dimensions with the available vehicle opening and cargo space before purchasing.

Heavy-Duty Capacity Without a Traditional Bulky Power Base

Many people searching for a heavy duty wheelchair electric model assume that a 400+ lb capacity automatically means a very large, rigid power wheelchair. The 440 HD PLUS takes a different approach. It combines a 440 lb capacity with a folding frame, making it particularly attractive to users and caregivers who still need to load, store or travel with the wheelchair.

The 440 HD PLUS weighs approximately 62.2 lbs in its 12Ah configuration and approximately 64.8 lbs in its 26Ah configuration. Although considerably more transportable than many full-size bariatric power chairs, it is still a substantial mobility device. Caregivers should consider the lifting ability required for loading it into a vehicle.

360° Intelligent Joystick With LCD Display

Driving the 440 HD PLUS is controlled through a weather-resistant 360-degree intelligent joystick. The controller combines directional steering with an LCD display, battery-level information, power control, horn and speed adjustment.

The wheelchair offers five selectable speed levels, allowing the user to choose approximately 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% or 100% of the chair’s maximum speed. Top speed is limited to approximately 4 mph.

The joystick can be installed on the right or left armrest, an important consideration for users who have better strength, dexterity or coordination on one side.

Caregiver Remote Control Included

The 440 HD PLUS also includes a handheld caregiver remote control. Once the wheelchair itself is powered on, the remote can be used from up to approximately 30 feet away to maneuver the chair, adjust speed and operate the horn.

This can be particularly useful when a caregiver needs another way to control or reposition the power wheelchair. The remote does not replace appropriate supervision or safe wheelchair operation, and the wheelchair must be switched on before the remote can communicate with it.

Intelligent Electromagnetic Braking

The dual motors incorporate an intelligent electromagnetic braking system for controlled stopping during powered operation. The system works together with the joystick controls to make acceleration, maneuvering and stopping more manageable during normal use.

If battery power is unavailable, the motors can also be disengaged with the motor levers so the 440 HD PLUS can be placed into freewheel mode for manual pushing. Power should be turned off before changing the motor engagement setting.

12-Inch Rear and 8-Inch Front Solid Tires

The wheelchair uses 12-inch solid rear tires and 8-inch solid front tires. Because the standard tires are solid, there are no pneumatic tubes to routinely inflate or repair after a puncture.

The wheel and motor configuration is designed for everyday indoor and outdoor mobility on suitable surfaces. As with any power wheelchair, loose terrain, steep grades, wet surfaces, deep grass and significant obstacles require additional caution.

Flip-Up Armrests for Easier Transfers

Both armrests can be raised, helping create additional side access when transferring into or out of the wheelchair. Flip-up armrests can also make it easier to position the chair closer to certain tables, desks and other surfaces.

The best transfer technique depends on the user’s mobility, strength, balance and level of assistance. Users who require hands-on transfer support should follow the recommendations of their healthcare or rehabilitation professional.

Airline & Cruise Travel With the 12Ah Battery

For users specifically looking for a heavy duty folding electric wheelchair for travel, the 12Ah battery configuration is the important option. Its lithium-ion battery is intended to meet the requirements used by most major airlines and cruise lines while still providing up to approximately 12 miles of range.

Airlines and cruise lines can have their own procedures for mobility devices and lithium batteries, and policies can change. Always contact the specific carrier before travel to confirm battery documentation, handling requirements and acceptance of the wheelchair.

The optional 26Ah long-range battery should not be selected for airline or cruise travel.

Charge the Battery On or Off the Wheelchair

The lithium-ion battery can be charged through the wheelchair’s controller or charged directly at the battery. A depleted battery typically requires approximately 6–8 hours to recharge using the standard charger, while a partially charged battery may require less time.

A standard 24V 2A charger is included. A compatible 24V 3A charger may be selected separately for faster charging of the long-range battery configuration.

Who Is the MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Best For?

The 440 HD PLUS is especially worth considering for someone who needs a higher-capacity electric wheelchair but still values portability. It can be an excellent fit for:

  • Users requiring up to a 440 lb capacity
  • Larger users needing a wider seating area
  • People seeking a folding bariatric power wheelchair
  • Users transporting a power chair by vehicle
  • Travelers choosing the 12Ah battery configuration
  • Users wanting extended range with the 26Ah battery
  • Caregivers who value remote-control capability
  • Users traveling across mixed firm surfaces

The important distinction is that this is not simply a standard lightweight travel chair with a higher number printed on the specification sheet. Its 440 lb capacity, 20.5-inch seating area, dual-motor drive, 9-degree maximum rated slope and heavy-duty folding configuration are specifically aimed at users who need more from a folding power wheelchair.

440 HD PLUS vs. a Standard Folding Electric Wheelchair

A standard folding electric wheelchair may be lighter, but many models have narrower seats and maximum capacities around 250–300 lbs. For a larger user, those specifications may rule out an otherwise attractive travel chair.

The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is designed for the shopper who is effectively asking, “I need a heavy duty electric wheelchair, but I still need it to fold.” Its 440 lb capacity and 20.5-inch seating area address the heavy-duty side of that requirement, while the folding frame, lithium battery system and travel-oriented design address portability.

12Ah vs. 26Ah Battery – Which Should You Choose?

Choose the 12Ah battery if airline or cruise travel is a major priority. It provides up to approximately 12 miles of range and is the travel-oriented battery configuration.

Choose the 26Ah battery if maximum driving range is more important than airline travel. It increases potential range to approximately 25 miles, making it better suited to longer days, extended outings and users who prefer additional range between charges.

If you are unsure which configuration best matches how you intend to use the wheelchair, call 585-505-6665 or chat with a live agent before ordering.

Common Problem → MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Solution

Problem: You need a bariatric power wheelchair with a 400 lb capacity or greater, but many high-capacity chairs are large, rigid and difficult to transport.

Solution: The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS combines a 440 lb capacity, 20.5-inch seating area and dual 250W motors with a folding frame. You can then configure the chair around your priorities with either a travel-oriented 12Ah battery or a long-range 26Ah battery.

For the right user, that combination is what makes the 440 HD PLUS stand apart: heavy-duty capacity without automatically giving up folding portability.

Customize Your 440 HD PLUS

The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS can be configured with different battery and upholstery options. Available cushion colors include Black, Gray, Purple, Blue, Red and Taba, allowing the chair to be personalized beyond its functional configuration.

Optional accessories may include items such as a headrest, headlight with USB charger, phone holder, cup holder, caregiver controls, canopy and protective travel bag. Accessory availability and compatibility should be confirmed for the specific wheelchair configuration before ordering.

Manufacturer Warranty

The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is backed by a manufacturer’s warranty that includes 3 years of coverage on the frame and 1 year on the motors, battery and electronic components. Warranty coverage applies according to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions and does not include damage caused by misuse, neglect or abuse.

What’s Included With the MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS?

The wheelchair arrives almost fully assembled and includes the 440 HD PLUS wheelchair, selected lithium-ion battery, joystick controller, caregiver remote controller, battery charger, anti-tip bars, tool set and user manual. Some remaining components must be attached before the wheelchair is ready for use.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
