Description
Shoprider Dasher 4 Wheel Mobility Scooter – Portable, Compact & Easy to Disassemble
The Shoprider Dasher 4 Wheel Mobility Scooter is a compact, portable mobility scooter designed for users who want dependable everyday mobility without the size and weight of a full-size scooter. Built for the user on the go, the Dasher 4 combines a stable four-wheel platform, 300 lb weight capacity, quick-disconnect three-piece design, swivel seating, adjustable tiller, solid tires, and up to a 10-mile driving range depending on battery configuration and operating conditions.
One of the biggest advantages of this 4 wheel mobility scooter is portability. The Dasher 4 can be quickly dismantled into three main sections, with the heaviest piece weighing only approximately 26 lbs. This makes it substantially easier to load, unload, store, and transport than many larger mobility scooters, while still providing the familiar stability and handling characteristics of a four-wheel design.
For everyday operation, the Shoprider Dasher 4 reaches speeds up to 4 mph and offers a listed driving range of up to 8 or 10 miles depending on the selected battery configuration. A swivel seating system assists with getting on and off the scooter, while the curved adjustable T-bar tiller provides additional knee room and allows the steering position to be adjusted for greater operating comfort.
Why the Shoprider Dasher 4 Wheel Mobility Scooter Stands Out
The Dasher 4 is designed around a simple goal: provide a practical mobility 4 wheel scooter that is easier to take with you. Many mobility scooters become difficult to transport because their major components are heavy and cumbersome. Shoprider addresses that problem with a quick-disconnect system that allows the Dasher 4 to separate into three manageable sections.
At the same time, portability does not eliminate the everyday features users expect from a mobility scooter. The Dasher 4 provides a 300 lb capacity, swivel seat, adjustable tiller, solid tires, four-wheel configuration, 4 mph maximum speed, and off-board charging.
- ✔️ 300 lb maximum weight capacity
- ✔️ Quick three-piece scooter disassembly
- ✔️ Heaviest piece only 26 lbs
- ✔️ Up to 10-mile driving range
- ✔️ Comfortable swivel seating system
- ✔️ Adjustable curved T-bar tiller
Portable Three-Piece Design for Easier Transportation
The standout feature of the Shoprider Dasher 4 is its quick-disconnect disassembly system. The scooter dismantles into three primary sections, allowing it to be transported as smaller individual components instead of requiring the entire scooter to be lifted at once.
The heaviest disassembled section weighs approximately 26 lbs. This is an important distinction for users and caregivers comparing portable mobility scooters, because total scooter weight alone does not indicate how difficult a scooter will be to load into a vehicle.
When assembled, the Dasher 4 has a listed unit weight of approximately 94 or 98 lbs depending on configuration. By breaking that weight into separate sections, the scooter becomes considerably more manageable for transportation and storage.
Four-Wheel Design for Stable Everyday Mobility
For shoppers specifically searching for a 4 wheel mobility scooter, the Dasher 4 provides a traditional four-wheel configuration with two front wheels and two drive wheels. Four-wheel scooters are often selected by users who prioritize a familiar, stable platform for everyday mobility.
The Dasher 4 uses 8-inch front wheels and 8-inch drive wheels with solid tires. Solid tires eliminate concerns about pneumatic tire punctures and help simplify routine ownership and maintenance.
The scooter has approximately 2 inches of ground clearance and limited suspension. It is therefore best understood as a compact everyday mobility scooter rather than a high-clearance or heavy-duty off-road scooter.
300 lb Weight Capacity
The current Shoprider Dasher 4 is rated for a maximum user weight of 300 lbs, providing useful capacity in a compact portable scooter.
Important: Shoprider specifies that the 300 lb weight capacity applies to Dasher 4 units purchased after January 1, 2024 and does not apply to earlier models. Owners of an older Dasher 4 should refer to the specifications applicable to their particular unit rather than assuming the current 300 lb rating applies.
Up to 10-Mile Driving Range
The Shoprider Dasher 4 offers battery options that provide a listed driving range of up to 8 miles or up to 10 miles, depending on battery configuration. Available battery specifications include two 12V 12Ah batteries or two 12V 14Ah batteries.
For the longer-range configuration, the 12V 14Ah battery setup provides a listed range of up to 10 miles. This gives users practical mobility for many everyday trips, appointments, shopping outings, community activities, and other appropriate uses without moving into a substantially larger scooter platform.
Actual driving range can vary based on battery condition, battery break-in, user weight, terrain, slopes, temperature, driving habits, scooter condition, and other operating factors.
4 MPH Maximum Speed
The Dasher 4 has a listed maximum speed of approximately 4 mph. This provides a practical pace for a compact senior mobility scooter intended for controlled everyday mobility rather than high-speed travel.
The combination of a 4 mph maximum speed and compact overall dimensions makes the Dasher 4 well suited to users looking for manageable operation in appropriate indoor and outdoor environments.
Swivel Seat for Easier Entry & Exit
The Shoprider Dasher 4 comes standard with a swivel seating system. Rather than requiring the user to always enter or exit directly over the scooter’s floorboard and tiller area, the seat can rotate to provide a more convenient approach when appropriate.
A swivel seat can be especially useful for users who find turning their entire body while stepping onto a scooter difficult. Once positioned appropriately, the seat can be returned to the forward-facing riding position for operation.
Adjustable Curved T-Bar Tiller Provides Extra Knee Room
The Dasher 4 uses an adjustable curved T-bar tiller. The curved design provides additional knee room around the steering column, while tiller adjustment allows the steering position to be configured for greater comfort during operation.
This is particularly useful because comfortable scooter operation depends on more than seat dimensions alone. The relationship between the seat, knees, tiller, and controls all contributes to the user’s overall driving position.
Compact 22-Inch Width
The Shoprider Dasher 4 measures approximately 22 inches wide and 44 inches long. Its compact footprint helps make it easier to maneuver and store than many larger mobility scooters.
The 22-inch overall width can also be useful when evaluating whether a scooter will work within a particular home, doorway, hallway, storage area, or other environment. Buyers should always measure the actual spaces and clearances the scooter will need to navigate before ordering.
Solid Tires for Low-Maintenance Mobility
The Dasher 4 comes standard with solid tires. For many mobility scooter users, solid tires provide an important practical advantage because they do not require routine air-pressure maintenance and cannot develop conventional pneumatic punctures.
Combined with its 8-inch wheels, compact dimensions, and limited suspension system, the Dasher 4 is designed to provide straightforward mobility over appropriate everyday surfaces.
2-Amp Off-Board Battery Charger
The Dasher 4 uses a 2-amp off-board charger. Off-board charging allows the battery system to be charged separately from the fully assembled scooter when appropriate, adding flexibility when storing or transporting the unit.
The current Shoprider ordering configuration lists two 12V 14Ah batteries as the standard/included battery setup. Battery specifications can vary by configuration, so the exact battery setup supplied with the scooter should be confirmed when ordering.
Shoprider Dasher 4 Seat Options & Upgrades
The Dasher 4 is commonly configured with a 17″W × 14″D stadium-style seat, but Shoprider offers several optional seating upgrades for users who require different seat dimensions or seating styles.
Available seating configurations may include:
- ✔️ 17″W × 14″D stadium seat
- ✔️ 18″W × 16″D stadium seat
- ✔️ 17″W × 16″D Fish-On seat
- ✔️ 15″W × 14″D Fish-On seat
- ✔️ 16″W × 16″D reclining seat
Need a different seat size? Contact MedCare Mobility before ordering. We can help confirm currently available Shoprider seating options, compatibility, and pricing for your Dasher 4 configuration. Seat upgrades may carry an additional charge.
Optional Accessories for the Shoprider Dasher 4
The Shoprider Dasher 4 can also be configured with optional accessories to make the scooter better suited to the user’s everyday routine. Available options may include a metal oxygen tank holder, cup holder, safety flag, small or large rear basket, armrest bag, USB device charging adapter, cane holder, and 66-inch lap belt. Accessories are optional unless specifically listed as included with the scooter and may add to the purchase price. Contact MedCare Mobility if you would like help configuring your Dasher 4 with compatible accessories before ordering.
Shoprider Dasher 4 vs. Larger Mobility Scooters
Shoprider Dasher 4
- ✔️ Three-piece quick-disconnect design
- ✔️ 26 lb heaviest section
- ✔️ Compact 22-inch overall width
- ✔️ Up to 10-mile range
- ✔️ 4 mph maximum speed
- ✔️ Designed for easier transportation
Larger Full-Size Mobility Scooter
- ✔️ Typically heavier major components
- ✔️ Often offers longer driving range
- ✔️ May provide greater ground clearance
- ✔️ May include advanced suspension
- ✔️ Often requires more storage space
The Dasher 4 is therefore particularly attractive when portability, compact dimensions, and manageable disassembled weight are priorities. A larger scooter may be more appropriate when the user instead prioritizes extended range, higher ground clearance, greater capacity, larger seating, or more advanced suspension.
Who Is the Shoprider Dasher 4 Best For?
The Shoprider Dasher 4 wheel mobility scooter is designed for users who need powered mobility but also want a scooter that can be broken down into smaller components for transportation and storage.
It may be particularly appropriate for:
- ✔️ Adults needing powered everyday mobility
- ✔️ Seniors seeking portable scooter mobility
- ✔️ Users prioritizing four-wheel stability
- ✔️ Frequent vehicle transportation
- ✔️ Homes with limited storage space
- ✔️ Users weighing up to 300 lbs
- ✔️ Appropriate indoor and outdoor use
Who May Need a Different Mobility Scooter?
The Dasher 4 is intentionally designed as a compact, portable mobility scooter. That makes it excellent for certain users but means a larger or more specialized scooter may be appropriate for others.
Consider another mobility scooter for:
- ✔️ Users exceeding 300 lbs
- ✔️ Extended long-distance daily travel
- ✔️ Rough or demanding terrain
- ✔️ Higher ground-clearance requirements
- ✔️ Advanced suspension requirements
- ✔️ Larger specialized seating needs
The Dasher 4 has 2 inches of ground clearance and limited suspension, so it should not be confused with a heavy-duty or all-terrain mobility scooter.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
