Description

Low Air Loss Mattress System with Alternating Pressure, Pulsation & Advanced Moisture Management

The Invacare microAIR® MA800 Low Air Loss Mattress System is an advanced therapeutic low air loss mattress system designed for patients who need high-level pressure redistribution, moisture management, temperature control, and comfort during extended bed rest.

Built with True Low Air Loss Therapy, advanced 3-in-1 alternating pressure, 60-second pulsation, HeelSense™ Technology, Auto Firm Mode, customizable cycle times, a foam safety base, and 36”, 42”, and 48” width options, the MA800 is a powerful pressure relief air mattress for homecare, long-term care, rehab, assisted living, and nursing facility use.

Whether you are searching for:

  • ✔️ A low air loss mattress system
  • ✔️ A pressure relief air mattress
  • ✔️ A bariatric air mattress with pump
  • ✔️ A true low air loss hospital mattress
  • ✔️ An alternating pressure mattress system
  • ✔️ A hospital air mattress for pressure sores
  • ✔️ A mattress for moisture and maceration concerns
  • ✔️ A powered air mattress with pump
  • ✔️ A wide air mattress for hospital bed
  • ✔️ A high-capacity low air loss mattress

the Invacare microAIR® MA800 is designed to deliver advanced skin protection support, pressure relief, moisture control, transfer support, and caregiver-friendly therapy features in one powerful mattress system.

Why the Invacare microAIR® MA800 Stands Out

The MA800 stands out because it combines alternating pressure, pulsation, and True Low Air Loss Therapy into one advanced mattress system. This makes it especially valuable when pressure relief alone is not enough and the patient also needs stronger moisture and temperature management.

Key advantages include:

  • ✔️ True Low Air Loss Therapy
  • ✔️ Advanced 3-in-1 alternating pressure
  • ✔️ 60-second pulsation therapy
  • ✔️ 10 adjustable comfort settings
  • ✔️ HeelSense™ heel pressure technology
  • ✔️ Auto Firm Mode for transfers
  • ✔️ Customizable cycle times
  • ✔️ Foam base bottoming-out protection
  • ✔️ 1275 LPM pump flow rate
  • ✔️ 36”, 42”, and 48” widths

Choosing Between MA500, MA600, MA800, and MA900?

Choose the MA500 for low-to-medium risk basic alternating pressure and low air loss support. Choose the MA600 for medium-to-high risk support with 3-in-1 alternating pressure, HeelSense™, Max Inflate, and 500 lb. capacity. Choose the MA800 when the patient needs True Low Air Loss, pulsation, moisture management, wider sizes, or bariatric support. Choose the MA900 when lateral rotation therapy, built-in side bolsters, and advanced turning support are needed.

True Low Air Loss Therapy for Moisture & Temperature Control

The MA800’s biggest upgrade is True Low Air Loss Therapy. This helps provide extra comfort by supporting moisture and temperature control across the mattress surface.

This is especially important for patients dealing with:

  • ✔️ Moisture buildup
  • ✔️ Heat retention
  • ✔️ Skin maceration concerns
  • ✔️ Long-term bed rest
  • ✔️ Fragile skin
  • ✔️ Pressure injury risk
  • ✔️ Limited repositioning ability

For patients who need a true moisture-management support surface, the MA800 is a stronger option than basic alternating pressure systems.

Advanced 3-in-1 Alternating Pressure

The MA800 uses an advanced 3-in-1 alternating function that inflates and deflates air cells in a 3:1 cycle. This provides active pressure relief by supporting approximately 2/3 of the body at any given time.

This helps:

  • ✔️ Reduce prolonged pressure exposure
  • ✔️ Shift pressure away from vulnerable areas
  • ✔️ Support pressure injury prevention
  • ✔️ Improve pressure redistribution
  • ✔️ Support medium-to-high risk patients
  • ✔️ Improve comfort during long bed stays

This makes the MA800 a strong pressure relief air mattress for patients who need more advanced therapy than a standard foam mattress or entry-level air mattress.

60-Second Pulsation Therapy

The MA800 includes a 60-second pulsation feature designed to help improve capillary blood flow by continually readjusting surface pressure.

This feature helps:

  • ✔️ Reduce constant surface pressure
  • ✔️ Support tissue comfort
  • ✔️ Add another layer of therapy
  • ✔️ Improve patient comfort
  • ✔️ Support pressure injury care routines

Pulsation is one of the major differences between the MA800 and the MA600.

10 Adjustable Comfort Settings

The MA800 includes 10 adjustable comfort settings depending on the patient’s therapy requirement.

These settings help caregivers adjust the mattress based on:

  • ✔️ Patient weight
  • ✔️ Comfort preference
  • ✔️ Therapy tolerance
  • ✔️ Pressure care needs
  • ✔️ Facility or caregiver assessment

This makes the MA800 more customizable than the MA500 and MA600 models.

Customizable Cycle Times from 3–95 Minutes

The MA800 allows customizable cycle times from 3 to 95 minutes, shown in the digital readout on the power unit.

This helps caregivers better match therapy timing to:

  • ✔️ Patient comfort
  • ✔️ Pressure relief needs
  • ✔️ Clinical care routines
  • ✔️ Patient tolerance
  • ✔️ Long-term care requirements

This is a major upgrade for care environments needing more control than preset cycle systems.

HeelSense™ Technology for Heel Pressure Protection

HeelSense™ Technology is designed to provide additional therapy and comfort by decreasing pressure in the vulnerable heel area.

This helps:

  • ✔️ Reduce heel pressure concentration
  • ✔️ Support lower extremity comfort
  • ✔️ Protect one of the most vulnerable pressure areas
  • ✔️ Improve comfort for patients with limited mobility
  • ✔️ Support pressure injury prevention routines

Heel care is especially important for patients who are unable to reposition themselves frequently.

Auto Firm Mode for Transfers & Nursing Procedures

The MA800 includes Auto Firm Mode, designed to provide quick maximum inflation within seconds.

This is useful for:

  • ✔️ Patient transfers
  • ✔️ Repositioning
  • ✔️ Nursing procedures
  • ✔️ Caregiver access
  • ✔️ Temporary firm support
  • ✔️ Easier ingress and egress

Auto Firm Mode helps caregivers create a more stable surface when performing hands-on care.

Foam Base Helps Prevent Bottoming Out

The MA800 includes a foam base designed to help prevent bottoming out in the event of a power failure.

This helps:

  • ✔️ Maintain a safety support layer
  • ✔️ Reduce bottoming-out risk
  • ✔️ Improve caregiver confidence
  • ✔️ Support patient protection during power issues
  • ✔️ Add stability beneath the air cells

This is different from the MA500 and MA600 cell-in-cell approach and is especially valuable in higher-level air mattress systems.

1275 LPM Pump Flow Rate

The MA800’s pump offers a high 1275 LPM flow rate, supporting its True Low Air Loss Therapy and advanced moisture-management performance.

This makes the MA800 especially valuable when:

  • ✔️ Moisture control is a major concern
  • ✔️ Temperature control is needed
  • ✔️ The patient needs stronger airflow support
  • ✔️ Maceration risk is present
  • ✔️ A higher therapy level is required

Available in 36”, 42”, and 48” Widths

The MA800 is available in multiple sizes, including:

  • ✔️ 36” standard width
  • ✔️ 42” bariatric width
  • ✔️ 48” bariatric width
  • ✔️ 80” and select 84” length options
  • ✔️ 10” mattress height

The 36” model supports up to 600 lbs., while 42” and 48” models support up to 1000 lbs.

This makes the MA800 a strong bariatric air mattress with pump option for larger patients who need advanced therapy and wider bed compatibility.

Need Mattress Only or Pump Only?
This product is commonly purchased as a complete mattress system, but mattress-only and pump-only options may also be available. To order only the mattress, only the pump, or to confirm the correct configuration for your bed, please call 585-505-6665 for assistance.

MA800 vs MA600: What Is the Difference?

The MA800 is a higher-level system than the MA600.

  • ✔️ MA600: 8 comfort settings
  • ✔️ MA800: 10 comfort settings
  • ✔️ MA600: low air loss therapy
  • ✔️ MA800: True Low Air Loss Therapy
  • ✔️ MA600: 10 LPM pump flow
  • ✔️ MA800: 1275 LPM pump flow
  • ✔️ MA600: 500 lb. capacity
  • ✔️ MA800: up to 1000 lb. capacity
  • ✔️ MA800 adds pulsation therapy
  • ✔️ MA800 adds wider 42” and 48” options
  • ✔️ MA800 adds foam base bottoming-out protection

The MA600 is excellent for medium-to-high risk support in standard 36” width. The MA800 is better when moisture, maceration, pulsation, higher airflow, and wider bariatric sizing are important.

When to Choose the MA900 Instead

The MA900 is the next step up when lateral rotation therapy is needed.

Choose the Invacare microAIR® MA900 if the patient needs:

  • ✔️ Lateral rotation therapy
  • ✔️ 20° and 40° turning support
  • ✔️ True Low Air Loss Therapy
  • ✔️ Built-in side bolsters
  • ✔️ Pulmonary positioning support
  • ✔️ Advanced turning assistance
  • ✔️ Higher-acuity support

If lateral rotation is not needed, the MA800 is usually the stronger choice for True Low Air Loss, pulsation, and advanced moisture management.
