Description
McKesson Premium Molded Foam Seat Cushion – Gel-Infused Memory Foam Top, Leg Troughs, 3″ Thick, 18″ x 16″ or 20″ x 18″
The McKesson molded foam seat cushion (Premium) is a step up from a flat foam pad. It combines a molded high density polyurethane base with a gel-infused visco memory foam top layer, so the user sinks into the cushion a little and pressure spreads across a wider area.
The shape matters too. Molded leg troughs guide the thighs into a straight, even position, and a raised front ridge helps keep the user from sliding forward in the chair. It comes in 18″ x 16″ and 20″ x 18″, 3″ thick, and supports up to 275 lbs.
Pick your size in the dropdown. Questions? Call 585-505-6665.
Why Choose the McKesson Molded Foam Seat Cushion?
Sliding forward is one of the most common problems for people who sit for long hours, and a flat cushion does nothing to stop it. The front ridge and leg troughs give the pelvis and thighs a shape to sit into, and the memory foam top lets the bony points under the hips immerse instead of pressing on a hard surface.
Who Is It For?
- Users who sit for long hours and need more pressure relief than flat foam
- Users who slide forward or whose legs drift apart or together
- Standard adult wheelchairs (18″ x 16″) and wider chairs (20″ x 18″)
- Users up to 275 lbs
Who May Need Something Else?
- Users who want a basic light cushion: the McKesson Foam Wheelchair Seat Cushion.
- Users over 275 lbs or chairs 22″ and wider: the McKesson Bariatric Gel Seat Cushion.
- Users who need precise positioning: a positioning cushion such as the Acta-Embrace Anti-Thrust Cushion.
Pressure Relief Where It Counts
The memory foam top lets the bony points under the hips immerse into the cushion. The open-cell foam breathes, and the gel infusion helps keep the surface cooler than plain memory foam.
A Cover That Lasts
The waterproof low-shear stretch nylon cover lets air pass but resists fluids, so it stays breathable while protecting the foam from spills and incontinence. It has a skid-resistant bottom, and adjustable straps hold the cushion in place. Not made with natural rubber latex.
Choosing Your Size
| Size | SKU | Fits |
| 18″ x 16″ x 3″ | MK-1065555 | Most standard adult wheelchairs |
| 20″ x 18″ x 3″ | MK-1065586 | Wider chairs |
How to Measure for a McKesson Molded Foam Seat Cushion
Measure the wheelchair seat from side rail to side rail (width) and from the back canes to the front edge of the seat (depth). Pick the cushion that matches both. A cushion narrower than the seat lets the user drift sideways; one wider than the seat curls up at the edges and wears the cover. Remember a 3″ cushion raises the user 3″, so check that their feet still reach the footrests and they can still get under a table.
Foam, Gel or Memory Foam?
McKesson makes several wheelchair seat cushions, and the difference is the material. The McKesson Foam Wheelchair Seat Cushion is high density foam: light, simple and affordable. The McKesson Premium Molded Foam Seat Cushion adds a gel-infused memory foam top and leg troughs for more pressure relief and positioning. The McKesson Bariatric Gel Seat Cushion adds a gel bladder and is rated to 400 lbs for wide chairs, and the McKesson Bariatric Premium Molded Foam Seat Cushion is a firm 24″ molded foam cushion for bariatric chairs.
Setting Up the Cushion on the Chair
Put the cushion on the seat with the non-skid side down and the front of the cushion at the front of the seat, then fasten the straps around the seat rails. Have the user sit all the way back so their hips meet the back of the chair. If they sit forward on the edge, the cushion can’t do its job, and if the back upholstery has sagged, a firm back cushion helps keep them seated back.
Signs It’s Time to Replace a Wheelchair Cushion
Press down in the middle of the seat with your hand. If you can feel the seat rails or sling through the cushion, it has bottomed out. Other signs: a permanent dip where the user sits, a cover that’s torn or no longer waterproof, the user sliding or leaning more than they used to, or red marks on the skin after sitting. Any of those means the cushion isn’t spreading the load anymore and should be replaced.
Care & Cleaning
Unzip the cover and machine wash it, or wipe it down between users. Let it dry fully before refitting. Check the straps each time the cushion goes back on the chair.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
