Description
Graham-Field 8146 Stainless Steel Medical Cart – Three Shelves, Handles at Both Ends
The Graham-Field 8146 is a compact stainless steel medical cart with three stainless steel shelves, a stainless pipe frame and a handle at each end. Graham-Field rates it for 400 lb, evenly distributed.
Its shelves measure 16″ x 24″, and the top shelf sits 30″ off the floor, a comfortable height to work from. Overall it’s 16.25″ wide, 28.5″ long and 36″ high to the handles, so it fits beside an exam table, a bed or a procedure chair without crowding the room.
For clinics, labs, physician offices and care homes that want a 3 shelf stainless steel cart they can wipe down and disinfect between patients, it’s a simple, sturdy choice.
Why Choose the Graham-Field 8146?
Everything that matters is stainless steel: the pipe frame, the three shelves and the nuts and bolts. Graham-Field describes the handles as ergonomic, and its manual says the cart can be pushed from either end, so you don’t have to turn it around in a tight room. The wheels are thermoplastic rubber with co-polymer covers on chrome-plated casters, and Graham-Field backs the cart with a one-year limited warranty.
Who Is the 8146 Best For?
It’s a good fit for:
- Physician offices and urgent care clinics that keep supplies next to the exam table
- Labs and phlebotomy stations that need a small rolling work surface
- Wound care, podiatry and dermatology rooms that disinfect between patients
- Assisted living and long-term care homes that want a cart for a treatment room
Not the right fit: anyone who needs drawers or a lock. Look at the Harloff 6200 steel treatment cart for locking storage.
400 lb Capacity
Graham-Field rates the 8146 for a maximum load of 400 lb (181 kg), evenly distributed. Spread the load across the three shelves rather than piling it on one.
Compact 16″ x 24″ Footprint
The shelves are 16″ wide and 24″ long, with the top shelf 30″ from the floor. With the handles, the cart is 28.5″ long and 36″ high overall. It’s narrow enough to slide in beside a table or bed.
Handles at Both Ends
Each end frame has a handle at the top, and Graham-Field’s manual says the cart may be pushed from either end. That’s handy in small exam rooms where there’s no space to turn a cart around.
Simple Assembly, Tools Included
The 8146 ships unassembled: three shelves, two legs with casters, and a bag of screws, lock washers and lock nuts. Graham-Field includes the open-end wrench and hex key. You set the shelves between the legs with the handles facing out, bolt them through, check the shelves are level and tighten everything. Graham-Field says assembly and repairs should be done by qualified personnel.
8146 vs. Other Carts
Next to the Pedigo stainless steel utility cart, the 8146 is a plain three-shelf cart with no drawer. If you want a PVC frame instead, look at the Lumex PVC utility carts in Medical Carts. For a light over the work area, pair it with an exam lamp like the McKesson floor standing exam lamp.
Common Problem → Graham-Field 8146 Solution
Problem: A wound care nurse sets dressings and solutions on the counter across the room, then turns away from the patient every time she needs something.
Solution: The 8146 rolls up to the chair with the dressing tray on top and backup supplies on the two lower shelves. She wipes it down and disinfects it after each patient.
“Will it fit between the chair and the wall?” At 16.25″ wide, it slides into spaces a standard cart won’t.
Care & Cleaning
Wipe the cart with a clean, soft paper or cloth. To disinfect it, wipe it with a cloth dampened with a general purpose, noncorrosive cleaner, rinse with clear water and dry it. Graham-Field says not to use acid, aggressive disinfectants or corrosive cleaners, and to store the cart only when it’s completely dry.
Warranty
Graham-Field gives the 8146 utility cart a one (1) year limited warranty. Labor isn’t included. Ask us for the full terms.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
