Description

Hausted Wall Saver Seating – Waiting Room Chairs That Keep the Backrest Off Your Walls

Hausted Wall Saver seating is a line of waiting room chairs from Graham-Field’s Hausted exam room collection. The wall saver leg design keeps the backrest farther from the wall to cut down on scuffs and marks, and Hausted rates each chair for 250 lb, evenly distributed.

These medical waiting room chairs come three ways: an armless side chair, an arm chair with straight arms and an arm chair with slant arms. Every wall saver chair has an 18″ x 18″ seat at 18″ high on a 14 gauge steel frame with a black powder coat finish.

They’re made for lobbies, waiting rooms, exam rooms and patient rooms in physician offices, clinics, labs, therapy practices, and assisted living and long-term care.

Why Choose Hausted Wall Saver Chairs?

Chairs pushed against a wall leave marks, and repainting a waiting room isn’t cheap. Hausted’s wall saver legs hold the backrest away from the wall, so your walls stay clean and maintenance costs stay down. The vinyl comes in the same 24 colors as Hausted exam tables, so the waiting room can match the exam rooms.

Who Are These Chairs Best For?

Wall Saver seating is a good fit for:

  • Physician offices, clinics and labs furnishing a lobby or waiting room
  • Exam rooms that need a guest chair beside the table
  • Assisted living, long-term care and therapy practices with high-traffic common areas
  • Facilities that want waiting room seating to match Hausted exam room upholstery

See more seating in our chairs category.

Who May Need a Different Chair?

  • People over 250 lb: Hausted rates these chairs for 250 lb, evenly distributed. Call us at 585-505-6665 for a bariatric guest chair.
  • Patients who need a higher seat to stand up: a hip chair such as the Lumex Everyday Hip Chair has a higher seat.
  • Patients who need to recline: look at a medical recliner like the Lumex three-position recliner.

250 lb Weight Capacity

Hausted rates all three Wall Saver chairs for a maximum of 250 lb, evenly distributed.

Wall Saver Leg Design

The legs are shaped to keep the backrest farther away from the wall, which reduces scratching and marring. Hausted’s point is simple: protect the walls and the room keeps looking its best through heavy traffic.

Side Chair, Straight Arms or Slant Arms

The 2000 is an armless side chair. The 2010 has straight arms and the 2020 has slant arms, both with a 26″ arm height. Arms help many patients sit down and stand up.

18″ x 18″ Seat at 18″ High

Every model has an 18″ wide by 18″ deep seat at an 18″ seat height, with a 12.5″ tall backrest. The overall height is 32.5″ and the depth is 22″.

14 Gauge Steel Frame with Black Powder Coat

Hausted builds the frame from 14 gauge steel tubing with a black powder coat finish, and the shipping weight is only 26 to 28 lb, so the chairs are easy to move.

Choosing Your Options

You pick two things: the chair style and the upholstery color.

Side Chair (2000-xx) Armless; 19.5″ wide, 21″ wide back; shipping weight 26 lb
Arm Chair, Straight Arms (2010-xx) 23.5″ wide, 20″ between the arms, 26″ arm height; shipping weight 28 lb
Arm Chair, Slant Arms (2020-xx) Slanted arms, 26″ arm height; shipping weight 28 lb

Upholstery comes in Hausted’s 24 standard colors. Pick yours in the color dropdown above; every color is the same price. Screens show colors a little differently, so call us if you want help matching an existing room. Each chair is sold individually, so order the quantity you need of each style.

Wall Saver Side Chair vs. Arm Chair

The side chair is narrower at 19.5″ wide, so you can fit more of them along a wall. The arm chairs are a bit wider and give patients something to push on when they stand up. Many waiting rooms mix the two: mostly arm chairs, with side chairs where space is tight.

Common Problem → Wall Saver Solution

Problem: Waiting room chairs rub the wall every time someone sits down, leaving scuffs that need touch-up paint.
Solution: Hausted’s wall saver legs hold the backrest away from the wall.
“Do I still need to leave space behind the chair?” The legs do the spacing for you; you can set the chair against the wall.

Sizing & Fit

All three chairs are 22″ deep and 32.5″ high with an 18″ x 18″ seat at 18″ high. The side chair is 19.5″ wide and the straight arm chair is 23.5″ wide. Measure your wall length and divide by the chair width to plan how many fit.

Care & Cleaning

Wipe the vinyl and the steel frame with a cleaner your facility approves for vinyl and painted metal, then dry them.

What’s Included

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
