Description

Trapeze Floor Stand for Freestanding Versa-Helper Bed Trapeze Support

The Lumex Trapeze Floor Stand provides a freestanding mounting solution for the Lumex Versa-Helper Trapeze 2800A and 2800GA. It is designed for situations where a compatible metal-frame headboard is not available or when a freestanding trapeze configuration is preferred.

Instead of attaching the Versa-Helper directly to a metal bed headboard, this trapeze floor stand creates a stable floor-supported structure around the head of the bed. Individually leveled floor bars help establish a firm, secure base, while the open space between the legs allows the stand to be positioned around an appropriate bed setup.

The floor stand measures approximately 29.2 inches wide, 40 inches long, and 39 inches high, with approximately 27 inches between the legs. It supports an assisted weight capacity of 250 lbs. when appropriately configured with the compatible Versa-Helper trapeze.

For easier handling and storage, the stand can also fold flat when not in use. Two finishes are available: chrome-plated model 2840A and gray model 2840GA.

For buyers searching specifically for a trapeze floor stand, Lumex trapeze floor stand, or floor stand only for an existing Versa-Helper trapeze, this is the dedicated base designed to provide freestanding capability for compatible Lumex 2800-series trapeze assemblies.

Why the Lumex Trapeze Floor Stand Stands Out

This accessory solves one of the most important compatibility issues with bed trapezes: how to use the Versa-Helper when direct headboard mounting is not the desired setup.

  • ✔️ Creates freestanding trapeze configuration
  • ✔️ Compatible with Versa-Helper trapezes
  • ✔️ Individually leveled floor bars
  • ✔️ Firm, secure floor-supported base
  • ✔️ Folds flat for storage
  • ✔️ 250 lb assisted capacity
  • ✔️ Chrome or gray finish
  • ✔️ Designed for HCPCS E0940

Rather than purchasing an entirely different bed trapeze system, owners of a compatible Versa-Helper can use this floor stand to create the appropriate freestanding configuration.

Designed Around a Common Bed Trapeze Problem

A headboard-mounted bed trapeze requires an appropriate mounting point. This can create a problem when the intended bed does not provide the correct setup or when a floor-supported installation is preferred.

People searching for a trapeze floor stand are therefore often asking questions such as:

  • ✔️ Can my bed trapeze stand independently?
  • ✔️ What if headboard mounting won’t work?
  • ✔️ Is there a base for Versa-Helper?
  • ✔️ Which stand fits Lumex 2800A?
  • ✔️ Which stand fits Lumex 2800GA?
  • ✔️ Can the stand fold for storage?
  • ✔️ Is this stand sold separately?

The Lumex 2840-series stand provides the straightforward answer: it is the floor stand specifically intended to provide freestanding capability for the Versa-Helper 2800A and 2800GA trapezes.

Provides Freestanding Capability for Versa-Helper Trapezes

The primary purpose of the Lumex floor stand is to convert a compatible Versa-Helper trapeze into a freestanding bedside configuration.

The stand is designed for use with:

  • ✔️ Lumex Versa-Helper 2800A
  • ✔️ Lumex Versa-Helper 2800GA

This can be especially useful when a compatible headboard mounting arrangement is unavailable or when a floor-standing installation better suits the bed and care environment.

Important: This listing is for the floor stand only. The Versa-Helper trapeze assembly is a separate component and is not included with this product.

Need the Compatible Versa-Helper Trapeze?

If you do not already have the compatible trapeze assembly, the floor stand must be paired with the appropriate Lumex Versa-Helper Trapeze to create the complete freestanding trapeze setup.

Please verify the linked product configuration before publishing this link. The URL provided currently contains “floor-trapeze-base-only” in its slug. If that page is actually this floor stand rather than the separate 2800A/2800GA trapeze assembly, replace this link with the correct trapeze product URL.

Individually Leveled Floor Bars for a Secure Base

The Lumex trapeze floor stand uses individually leveled floor bars designed to provide a firm and secure foundation for the compatible trapeze system.

This floor-supported design eliminates the need for the trapeze assembly itself to depend on direct attachment to a compatible metal-frame headboard when configured with the stand.

The floor bars provide the foundation needed for:

  • ✔️ Freestanding bedside positioning
  • ✔️ Stable trapeze support
  • ✔️ Proper Versa-Helper configuration
  • ✔️ Floor-supported installation

The stand should always be assembled and positioned according to the manufacturer’s instructions before the trapeze is used.

29.2″ Wide with 27″ Between the Legs

Bed compatibility matters when selecting a floor-standing trapeze because the stand must physically fit around the intended bedside setup.

The Lumex floor stand measures approximately:

  • ✔️ Overall Width: 29.2″
  • ✔️ Overall Length: 40″
  • ✔️ Overall Height: 39″
  • ✔️ Width Between Legs: 27″

These dimensions should be compared with the bed frame, mattress platform, surrounding furniture, and available floor space before ordering.

The 27-inch width between the legs is particularly important because it helps determine whether the intended bed configuration can fit properly within the floor stand.

Folds Flat for Easier Storage & Handling

A full-size medical equipment base can take up significant space when not in use. The Lumex floor stand is designed to fold flat for easier storage and handling.

This feature can be useful when:

  • ✔️ Trapeze is temporarily not needed
  • ✔️ Equipment must be transported
  • ✔️ Storage space is limited
  • ✔️ Care equipment changes over time
  • ✔️ Facility equipment requires storage

The folding design provides added practicality for homecare users, caregivers, healthcare facilities, and equipment providers who may need to store or relocate the stand.

250 lb Assisted Weight Capacity

The Lumex trapeze floor stand has an assisted weight capacity of 250 lbs. when used as intended with the compatible Versa-Helper system.

The term assisted weight capacity is important. A bed trapeze system is intended to help an appropriate user participate in repositioning and assisted mobility. It is not designed to suspend or fully lift the entire body like a patient lift.

The user’s physical abilities, trapeze configuration, equipment compatibility, and intended use should all be considered before use.

Two Finish Options: Chrome-Plated or Gray

The Lumex Versa-Helper floor stand is available in two model and finish combinations:

  • ✔️ 2840A: Chrome-plated finish
  • ✔️ 2840GA: Gray finish

Both configurations share the same listed overall dimensions, 27-inch width between the legs, 250 lb assisted weight capacity, and HCPCS E0940 classification.

Who Is This Trapeze Floor Stand Best For?

The Lumex 2840A / 2840GA floor stand is specifically intended for users who need to create a freestanding configuration with a compatible Versa-Helper trapeze.

It may be particularly useful for:

  • ✔️ Existing Versa-Helper trapeze owners
  • ✔️ Beds without suitable trapeze mounting
  • ✔️ Home hospital-bed setups
  • ✔️ Seniors needing bedside mobility support
  • ✔️ Rehabilitation environments
  • ✔️ Long-term care facilities
  • ✔️ Homecare equipment configurations
  • ✔️ Caregivers needing freestanding installation

The stand itself does not provide a handhold or mobility assistance until it is properly paired with the compatible Versa-Helper trapeze.

Who Does NOT Need This Floor Stand?

This product may not be necessary when:

  • ✔️ Versa-Helper is already properly mounted
  • ✔️ Compatible headboard mounting is preferred
  • ✔️ Different trapeze model is being used
  • ✔️ Complete trapeze system is already installed
  • ✔️ User actually needs trapeze assembly

Because this is an accessory rather than a complete trapeze system, buyers should confirm exactly which component they already own and which component they still need before ordering.

Floor Stand vs. Headboard-Mounted Versa-Helper

Lumex Trapeze Floor Stand Configuration

  • ✔️ Provides freestanding trapeze support
  • ✔️ Does not depend on headboard mounting
  • ✔️ Uses floor-supported base
  • ✔️ Requires compatible Versa-Helper trapeze
  • ✔️ Floor stand purchased separately

Headboard-Mounted Versa-Helper

  • ✔️ Mounts to compatible metal headboard
  • ✔️ Does not require floor stand
  • ✔️ Uses Versa-Helper mounting clamps
  • ✔️ Compatibility depends on bed frame
  • ✔️ Requires appropriate mounting structure

The correct configuration depends primarily on the bed and mounting setup. When direct compatible headboard mounting is unavailable or a freestanding arrangement is desired, the floor stand provides the alternative support structure.

Floor Stand Only vs. Complete Bed Trapeze System

This Lumex Floor Stand

  • ✔️ Includes floor stand/base only
  • ✔️ Does not include trapeze handbar
  • ✔️ Provides freestanding capability
  • ✔️ Fits compatible Versa-Helper trapezes
  • ✔️ HCPCS E0940 classification

Complete Freestanding Trapeze Setup

  • ✔️ Requires compatible floor stand
  • ✔️ Requires Versa-Helper trapeze assembly
  • ✔️ Provides overhead user handhold
  • ✔️ Supports assisted bed mobility
  • ✔️ Components must be compatible

This distinction is critical when ordering. If you need an entire freestanding bed trapeze setup and do not already own the Versa-Helper trapeze, purchasing this floor stand alone will not provide a complete system.

Common Problems This Trapeze Floor Stand Helps Address

  • ❌ No suitable headboard mounting → ✔️ Freestanding floor-supported base
  • ❌ Existing trapeze needs floor support → ✔️ Versa-Helper compatible stand
  • ❌ Floor surface needs stable setup → ✔️ Individually leveled floor bars
  • ❌ Equipment difficult to store → ✔️ Stand folds flat
  • ❌ Unsure which trapezes fit → ✔️ Compatible with 2800A/2800GA
  • ❌ Need alternate trapeze mounting → ✔️ Freestanding configuration option

HCPCS E0940 Trapeze Floor Stand

Does this replace a patient lift?

No. A freestanding bed trapeze is not a patient lift. It relies on an appropriate user’s ability to grasp the trapeze and participate in movement and is not designed to fully lift or transfer a patient.

The individually leveled floor bars are designed to provide a firm and secure base for the floor-standing Versa-Helper configuration.

If you already have a compatible Versa-Helper 2800A or 2800GA and need to create a freestanding configuration, this is the floor stand component. If you do not own the trapeze assembly, you will also need the compatible Versa-Helper trapeze to create the complete system.
