Description
Joerns Hoyer HPL700 Scale Kit – Cradle With Integrated Digital Scale for the 700 lb HPL700 Lift
This is a genuine Joerns Hoyer lift scale kit for the Hoyer HPL700 bariatric lift: Joerns part 39001099WH, listed in the HPL700 service parts manual as “Cradle W/Scale (White Lift)”. It’s a replacement cradle with the digital scale already built in, so an HPL700 you already own can weigh the person during a normal transfer. It is a part, not a lift.
Joerns says the HPL700 “has been designed to be configured with or without a weigh scale” and that the weigh scale is integrated “with a digital display on both sides and user-friendly controls.” The spec sheet adds that the scale is NAWI Class III rated and “does not compromise lifting height.” If you bought the HPL700 without the scale and now need one, this bariatric lift scale kit is the way Joerns adds it.
The WH in the part number means it’s for the white HPL700. Joerns lists a separate kit (39001099AL) for the beige lift. Not sure which one you have, or if your lift takes this cradle? Call us at 585-505-6665 with the serial number and we’ll confirm before you order.
Why Choose the Joerns HPL700 Scale Kit?
Weighing a person who can’t stand on a scale usually means a second transfer onto a chair or bed scale. With this hoyer lift scale attachment, the weight reads during the lift you were already doing. Because it’s the Joerns cradle with the scale built into it, nothing hangs below the boom, and Joerns says lifting height isn’t reduced. The readout is on both sides of the scale housing, so the caregiver can see it from either side of the lift.
Who Is This Kit Best For?
- Owners of a Joerns Hoyer HPL700 bought without the scale (the non-scale version)
- Facilities and home caregivers who need regular weights for someone transferred by lift
- Anyone replacing a worn or damaged HPL700 scale cradle with a genuine Joerns part
Still choosing a lift? Our Patient Lift Knowledge Base and Patient Transfer Lift Assessment Tool can help.
Who May Need a Different Scale?
- Owners of any other lift: Joerns lists this kit for the HPL700 only. For the HPL500 see the Hoyer Digital Scale for the HPL500, and for the Stature see the Hoyer Digital Scale for the Stature.
- Beige HPL700 owners: Joerns lists part 39001099AL for the beige lift. Call us and we’ll order the right one.
- Anyone who wants the scale from day one: the HPL700 is also sold as a with-scale configuration (HPL700WSC). See the Hoyer HPL700 Bariatric Lift options.
Cradle and Scale in One Piece
Joerns’ service parts manual lists this kit as the cradle with scale for the HPL700, and the lift manual notes that “scale versions will have additional spacers that will need to be assembled to each side of the scale housing” where the cradle pins to the boom. Joerns also warns not to disassemble the kingpin or the scale from the spreader bar, with or without scale. In plain terms: the cradle and scale come as one assembly and stay that way.
NAWI Class III Digital Scale, Two-Sided Display
Joerns rates the HPL700’s integrated scale as NAWI Class III and describes “a digital display on both sides and user-friendly controls.” Joerns doesn’t publish the display resolution or the readout units for the HPL700 scale in its HPL700 documents, so we don’t list them here. If you need those figures before you buy, call us and we’ll ask Joerns for you.
How the Cradle Attaches to the HPL700
Joerns’ HPL700 manual describes the with-scale cradle attachment this way: place a plastic washer on each side of the scale housing, align the holes within the end of the boom, install the pin sleeve, then insert the quick-release pin fully into the sleeve until it locks. Joerns says you must check that the pin is securely fitted before use, and to support the weight of the cradle before removing the pin. The HPL700’s own quick-release pin and sleeve are what hold it; the manual lists no other tools for the swap.
Slings for the HPL700 Cradle
The HPL700 “incorporates a 6-point Bari loop spreader bar, as standard,” and Joerns lists the Hoyer Bari Full Back, Bari Quickfit and Bari Hammock as examples of slings for that bar. Joerns says you must use Hoyer slings with Hoyer lifts. Check the sling’s own capacity too: Joerns notes sling capacity is limited by the lift’s maximum capacity.
Common Problem → Joerns HPL700 Scale Kit Solution
Problem: A nursing unit bought its HPL700 without the scale. The dietitian now wants weekly weights on a 480 lb resident, and the wheelchair scale down the hall means an extra transfer every time.
Solution: Swap the lift’s cradle for the 39001099WH cradle with the built-in scale. The weight shows during the transfer they already do, with the display readable from either side of the lift.
“Do we lose any lifting height?” Joerns says the integrated scale does not compromise lifting height.
Care & Cleaning
Joerns’ HPL700 service guidance has the spreader bar inspected at the boom attachment point for wear, for both scale and non-scale versions, and the sling hooks checked for wear, damage and bending. Follow the HPL700 manual’s cleaning and inspection schedule for the cradle and scale, and never use a cradle with a damaged hook or pin.
Warranty
Joerns’ Hoyer lift warranties cover replacement parts under the lift’s own warranty until that lift’s original warranty period expires. Joerns’ published warranty PDFs don’t state a separate term for this kit, so ask us for the current Joerns warranty terms before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Joerns HPL700 scale kit a patient lift?
No. It’s the HPL700’s cradle with a digital scale built in, sold as a replacement part. You need a Joerns Hoyer HPL700 lift to use it.
Which lift does the 39001099WH kit fit?
Joerns lists it in the HPL700 service parts manual as the cradle with scale for the white HPL700. For the beige HPL700, Joerns lists part 39001099AL. For any other lift, call us at 585-505-6665 and we’ll find the right scale.
What’s the difference between 39001099WH and 39001099AL?
The colour of the lift it matches. WH is for the white HPL700 and AL for the beige one, per Joerns’ parts manual. The scale itself is the same kit.
Can I add this to an HPL700 I bought without a scale?
Yes. That’s what the kit is for. Joerns says the HPL700 is designed to be configured with or without the scale, and the with-scale cradle attaches with the lift’s own quick-release pin and sleeve, with a plastic washer on each side of the scale housing.
Do I need special tools to install it?
Joerns’ manual describes the swap using the HPL700’s quick-release pin: depress the spring barb with a flat screwdriver or similar to remove the pin, support the cradle, pull the pin sleeve out, then fit the new cradle and lock the pin. Always check the pin is securely fitted before lifting anyone.
Does the scale reduce how high the lift can go?
Joerns says no. Its spec sheet states the integrated scale does not compromise lifting height.
Can I read the weight from either side of the lift?
Yes. Joerns describes the HPL700 scale as having a digital display on both sides with user-friendly controls.
What is the scale’s capacity?
Joerns rates the HPL700 lift for a 700 lb safe working load, and the scale is part of that lift. Joerns does not publish a separate scale capacity or display resolution in its HPL700 documents, so never exceed the lift’s 700 lb rating.
Which slings work with the HPL700 cradle?
Joerns says to use Hoyer slings only. For the standard 6-point Bari loop bar it lists the Hoyer Bari Full Back, Bari Quickfit and Bari Hammock as examples.
Can I take the scale off the cradle?
Joerns says not to. Its manual warns against disassembling the kingpin or the scale from the spreader bar, and the service manual says disassembling the scale is not recommended.
Is the scale NAWI Class III?
Yes. Joerns’ HPL700 spec sheet describes the optional digital scale as NAWI Class III rated.
What warranty comes with the kit?
Joerns’ lift warranties cover replacement parts until the lift’s original warranty period expires. Joerns doesn’t publish a separate term for this part, so ask us for the current Joerns warranty terms.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
