Description
Lumex DSC260 Patient Lift Scale – Digital Scale Add-On for Lumex LF1030, LF1031, LF1040 and LF1041 Lifts
The Lumex DSC260 is a patient lift scale: a small digital scale that mounts on a Lumex patient lift so you can weigh the person during a normal lift, without a separate wheelchair or bed scale. It is not a lift. It’s an add-on for Lumex lift models LF1030, LF1031, LF1040 and LF1041 (GF’s manual also lists the LF1031FP).
This Lumex lift scale comes with its own attachment hardware. You zero out the sling, lift the person as you normally would, and the weight shows on the display for five minutes, in pounds or kilograms. It reads in 0.2 lb steps up to 600 lb and runs on one 9V battery.
Families shopping for a Hoyer lift scale should check the lift model first. The DSC260 fits only the Lumex models above. If you have any other lift, call us at 585-505-6665 and we’ll help you find the right scale.
Why Choose the Lumex DSC260?
If you already own one of the Lumex lifts it fits, it’s the simplest way to keep track of weight at home or in a facility. There’s no extra transfer and no second piece of equipment to move into the room. Four buttons run everything, the display holds the reading for five minutes, and the scale shuts itself off to save the battery. Graham-Field backs it with a two-year limited warranty.
Who Is the Lumex DSC260 Best For?
The DSC260 is a good fit for:
- Owners of a Lumex LF1030, LF1031, LF1031FP, LF1040 or LF1041 patient lift
- Caregivers who need to track weight for someone who can’t stand on a regular scale
- Home care and facility staff who weigh residents during daily transfers
- Anyone who wants to read weight in pounds or kilograms
Still choosing a lift? Our Patient Lift Knowledge Base and Patient Transfer Lift Assessment Tool can help.
Who May Need a Different Scale?
- Anyone with a different lift: the DSC260 is made for Lumex LF1030/LF1031 and LF1040/LF1041 lifts only. Call us with your lift brand and model.
- Owners of a Lumex LF1050 or LF1090: Graham-Field makes a different scale (DSC250) for those lifts. Call us.
- Anyone without a lift yet: the scale doesn’t lift anyone by itself. Start with our Hoyer Lifts for Sale.
- People over 600 lb, or over the lift’s own limit: the scale reads to 600 lb, but GF warns never to go past the weight capacity of the lift you’re using.
600 lb Capacity, 0.2 lb Steps
The scale reads up to 600 lb and shows the weight in 0.2 lb (0.1 kg) divisions. If the load goes over 600 lb, the display shows “-oL-” for overload. The lift’s own rating still sets the real limit, so check it before every lift.
Easy 4-Button Operation
The faceplate has four buttons: On/Zero, Kg/lb, Operate/Hold and Off. Hang the empty sling first and press On/Zero, which zeroes out the sling’s weight so the reading shows only the person. Press Operate/Hold to freeze a reading on the display.
Battery Saver and Low-Battery Light
The scale runs on one 9V alkaline battery. It turns itself off five minutes after a measurement, and a low-battery symbol appears in the corner of the display when it’s time for a new battery. If you won’t use it for a while, take the battery out.
Fits Lumex LF1030, LF1031, LF1040 and LF1041 Lifts
The DSC260 package includes the scale, two bushings (1220 and 1020), a universal bracket, a pin, a key ring, a screw, washers and a nut. GF’s manual shows how it mounts on the LF1030, LF1031, LF1031FP, LF1040 and LF1041, and says to use only the hardware supplied. Make sure the scale is mounted securely before you lift anyone.
How to Weigh With the DSC260
- Put the sling you’ll use on the spreader bar, with nobody in it.
- Press On/Zero to zero out the sling. It stays zeroed until you press Off.
- Press Kg/lb to choose pounds or kilograms.
- Lift the person carefully so the lift carries all of their weight, and let the sling settle.
- Read the weight. Press Operate/Hold to keep it on the display, then lower the person safely.
- Press Off when you’re done. If you forget, it turns off on its own after five minutes.
Always follow your lift’s instructions and the guidance of the care team. GF says not to use the scale without proper instruction from a healthcare professional.
DSC260 vs. Other Patient Lift Scales
Graham-Field makes two Lumex lift scales with the same 600 lb display: the DSC260 for LF1030/LF1031 and LF1040/LF1041 lifts, and the DSC250 for LF1050 and LF1090 lifts. The difference is the mounting hardware. Other brands use their own scales, so match the scale to the lift. See all Patient Lift Accessories.
Common Problem → Lumex DSC260 Solution
Problem: The doctor wants Mom weighed every week, but she can’t stand on a bathroom scale and the family already moves her with a Lumex LF1040 lift.
Solution: The DSC260 mounts on her LF1040. Her caregiver zeroes the empty sling, lifts her the way they already do, and reads her weight in a few seconds, with no extra transfer.
“Can we write it down after she’s back in bed?” Press Operate/Hold and the reading stays on the display, and GF says the weight is displayed for five minutes.
Care & Cleaning
Wipe the scale gently with mild soap or a mild disinfectant as needed. Don’t wash it under water pressure or steam clean it, and don’t use solvents, abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Store it somewhere cool and dry; above 104°F it may not read within 0.2 lb.
Warranty
Graham-Field gives the DSC260 a two (2) year limited warranty from the date of shipment. Ask us for the full terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Lumex DSC260 a patient lift?
No. It’s a digital scale that attaches to a Lumex patient lift so you can weigh the person during a lift. You need one of the Lumex lifts it fits.
Which lifts does the DSC260 fit?
Graham-Field lists the Lumex LF1030/LF1031 and LF1040/LF1041 lifts, and the user manual also shows the LF1031FP. For any other lift, call us at 585-505-6665.
Will it fit my Hoyer, Invacare or other brand lift?
It isn’t listed for any other brand, so we don’t recommend it. Call us with your lift’s brand and model and we’ll find a scale that fits.
What about the Lumex LF1050 or LF1090?
Those lifts use a different Graham-Field scale, the DSC250. Call us if that’s the lift you have.
How much weight can it measure?
Up to 600 lb, in 0.2 lb steps. Never lift more than the weight capacity of the lift itself, even if the scale reads higher.
How do I subtract the weight of the sling?
Hang the empty sling on the spreader bar and press On/Zero. The scale zeroes out the sling and keeps it zeroed until you press Off.
Can it show kilograms?
Yes. Press the Kg/lb button to switch between kilograms and pounds.
How long does the reading stay on the screen?
Graham-Field says the weight is displayed for five minutes. Press Operate/Hold to hold a reading, and the scale turns itself off five minutes after the measurement.
What battery does it use?
One 9V alkaline battery. A low-battery symbol shows in the corner of the display when it’s time to replace it.
Is mounting hardware included?
Yes. The scale comes with the bushings, universal bracket, pin, key ring, screw, washers and nut used to attach it, and GF says to use only that hardware.
How do I clean the scale?
Wipe it gently with mild soap or a mild disinfectant. Don’t pressure-wash or steam clean it, and don’t use solvents or scouring pads.
What warranty does it have?
Graham-Field gives it a two-year limited warranty from the date of shipment. Ask us for the full terms.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
