Description

Medacure Free Spirit FS660-L – Bariatric Electric Patient Lift with Power Base

The Medacure Free Spirit FS660-L is a bariatric electric patient lift rated for 660 lbs. Dual Linak motors raise the patient and open the base, so caregivers move standard and bariatric patients safely with one lift. New to lifts? Read our patient lift buying guide and the patient lift knowledge base.

As a bariatric patient lift with power base, its legs open from 28″ to 45″ from the hand pendant, wrapping around wide wheelchairs and recliners.

For facilities and families searching for a 660 lb patient lift, it adds 51″ legs, a 28″ to 73″ lifting range, emergency stop and CPR lowering. Questions? Call us at 585-505-6665.

✅ Key Features

  • ✔️ 660 lb Bariatric Capacity
  • ✔️ Power Base Opens 28″ to 45″
  • ✔️ Dual Linak Motors
  • ✔️ 28″ to 73″ Lifting Range
  • ✔️ 51″ Extra Long Legs for Stability
  • ✔️ 15 Year Frame Warranty

Why a Bariatric Electric Lift?

Moving a heavy patient by hand is dangerous for everyone involved. A bariatric lift spreads the work to two motors, a wider base and longer legs, so the lift stays stable and the caregiver stays in control. The FS660-L’s power base means the legs open around a wide bariatric wheelchair at the press of a button, without the caregiver bending to work a pedal.

Who Is It Best For?

  • Bariatric patients up to 660 lbs
  • Facilities that serve both standard and bariatric residents with one lift
  • Homes with wide bariatric wheelchairs, recliners or commodes
  • Caregivers who want the base opened from the pendant

Who May Need Something Else?

  • Patients under 450 lbs: the FS450-L electric patient lift is lighter and costs less.
  • Patients up to 850 lbs: the Medacure FS850 Pro true bariatric lift.
  • Patients who can bear weight: the FS600STS-L bariatric sit-to-stand.

Dual Linak Motors

One motor raises and lowers the patient through a 28″ to 73″ range; the second powers the base. Linak is a leading actuator maker, and the hand pendant controls both.

One Lift for Mixed Needs

Many care facilities keep a standard lift and a separate bariatric lift, and staff lose time finding the right one. The FS660-L is a dual purpose lift: it handles everyday transfers for standard residents and still has the capacity, base width and stability for bariatric residents up to 660 lbs. One lift, one set of training, one battery system shared with the rest of the Free Spirit range.

Ultra Wide Power Base

The legs expand from 28″ to 45″, wide enough to wrap around bariatric wheelchairs and equipment, and the 51″ extra long legs add stability with a heavy load. Rear 4″ casters lock; front 3″ casters swivel.

Safety Features

An emergency stop button locks the lift in place, the CPR function lowers and raises the lift when the battery is discharged, total pinch point protection guards hands, a padded swivel bar protects the resident’s head, and 3 oversized locking hooks on each side of the hanging bar secure the sling.

Battery and Charging

The long lasting Linak battery is quick release. Charge it on board with the included cord, or swap it for a spare charged in the optional external charging base to minimize downtime. The charger plug stores neatly on the lift.

Using the Lift Safely

  1. Pick a sling rated for the patient’s weight; see our sling buying guide.
  2. Open the power base around the chair or bed.
  3. Attach the sling loops to the hooks as trained.
  4. Raise slowly, check the patient, move, then lower.
  5. Never exceed 660 lbs or the sling’s rating, whichever is lower.

What’s Included

FS660-L bariatric patient lift with dual Linak motors, control box, dual motor hand pendant, battery and power cord. Slings, external charger and scale sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the FS660-L a bariatric lift?

It is rated for 660 lbs, has an ultra wide power base that opens to 45″, 51″ extra long legs for stability, and dual Linak motors. It suits both standard and bariatric patients, which is why facilities with mixed needs choose it.

What is a power base?

The second Linak motor opens and closes the legs from the hand pendant, from 28″ to 45″. The caregiver does not have to work a foot pedal while steadying a heavy patient.

What is the lifting range?

Medacure’s spec table and brochure list 28″ to 73″ (one product description says 70″). That covers bed, chair and commode transfers.

Will it fit under the bed?

Medacure lists 4.3″ of bed clearance. Check the space under your bed frame before ordering.

What happens if the battery dies?

The CPR emergency stop and lowering function lowers the patient safely even when the battery is discharged.

How is it charged?

On board with the included power cord, or off the lift in the optional external charging base. LEDs show the charge level, and the quick release battery swaps in seconds.

Can I weigh patients with it?

Yes, with the optional DS1100 digital scale, which reads up to 1,000 lbs.

What is the warranty?

Medacure lists 15 years on the frame, 3 years on the electronics and 1 year on the battery and hand pendant.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
