Description
Trusted Hoyer Performance with Smooth Electric Lifting & Safer Transfers.
The Joerns Hoyer HPL402 Patient Lift Hoyer is a premium full-body patient lift hoyer designed to deliver smooth, reliable, and safer patient transfers for homecare, hospitals, rehab centers, assisted living facilities, and long-term care environments. Built with Hoyer’s trusted engineering, this powered patient transfer lift combines electric lifting performance, ergonomic caregiver controls, adjustable base positioning, and advanced safety features to help make daily transfers easier and more secure.
If you are searching for a dependable patient hoyer lift that offers easier maneuverability, smooth powered lifting, and safer patient positioning, the HPL402 is one of the strongest choices available. With a 400 lb safe working load, adjustable U-shaped base, 6-point non-sway cradle, and emergency lowering functionality, this lift is designed for real-world caregiving situations where comfort, control, and safety matter most.
Why This Patient Lift Hoyer Stands Out
This lift is designed to improve both caregiver efficiency and patient comfort during full-body transfers.
✔️ Smooth electric powered lifting operation
✔️ 6-point non-sway cradle system
✔️ Adjustable U-base for positioning flexibility
✔️ Reverse actuator improves knee clearance
✔️ Emergency lowering safety protection
Who This Hoyer Patient Lift Is Best For
The Joerns Hoyer HPL402 is ideal for patients who require full-body transfer assistance and caregivers who need a safer alternative to manual lifting.
✔️ Elderly patients with mobility limitations
✔️ Caregivers needing powered transfer support
✔️ Rehab and assisted living facilities
✔️ Homecare patients requiring full-body transfers
✔️ Facilities performing frequent daily transfers
This lift is commonly used for bed-to-wheelchair transfers, wheelchair-to-commode transfers, recliner transfers, floor-level positioning support, and general mobility assistance where patients cannot safely stand or pivot independently.
Smooth Electric Lifting for Easier Transfers
The HPL402 uses a powered electric actuator system to raise and lower the patient smoothly with reduced physical strain on the caregiver.
✔️ Powered boom simplifies patient lifting
✔️ Hand control supports easy operation
✔️ Reduces caregiver lifting effort
✔️ Improves smooth transfer control
Compared to a manual hydraulic lift, this electric patient hoyer lift helps reduce repetitive pumping effort and can be especially valuable for caregivers performing multiple daily transfers or supporting heavier patients.
Reverse-Mounted Actuator Improves Clearance
One of the most valuable features of this patient hoyer lift is the reverse-mounted actuator design. This improves knee clearance and positioning space during transfers.
✔️ More knee space during transfers
✔️ Better positioning around furniture
✔️ Helps improve caregiver accessibility
✔️ Supports smoother patient alignment
This becomes especially useful in tighter homecare spaces, around wheelchairs, recliners, beds, and commodes where positioning room may be limited.
Adjustable U-Base for Easier Positioning
The adjustable U-shaped base helps the lift adapt to different transfer environments and furniture widths.
✔️ Base widens for better stability
✔️ Narrow mode improves maneuverability
✔️ Easier positioning around commodes
✔️ Fits through tighter doorways
The manual leg adjustment system allows caregivers to widen or narrow the lift base depending on the transfer environment and patient positioning needs.
6-Point Non-Sway Cradle for Sling Flexibility
The HPL402 includes a 6-point non-sway cradle designed to support a wide range of sling configurations while helping improve transfer stability.
✔️ Supports multiple sling options
✔️ Helps reduce patient sway
✔️ Improves transfer stability
✔️ Supports full-body transfer positioning
The right sling selection depends on the patient’s posture, body size, head control, transfer needs, and toileting requirements. Full-body, divided-leg, and toileting sling options may all be appropriate depending on the care situation.

The HPL402 includes several important safety systems designed to protect both patient and caregiver during transfers.
✔️ Built-in emergency stop button
✔️ Manual emergency lowering system
✔️ Leg guards help prevent impact
✔️ Caster bumpers protect furniture
The mechanical down-release lever allows controlled patient lowering even during a power outage, which is an important safety feature for emergency situations.
Designed for Real Homecare & Facility Transfers
The HPL402 is built to function across a wide variety of patient transfer scenarios.
✔️ Bed to wheelchair transfers
✔️ Chair and recliner transfers
✔️ Toileting and commode positioning
✔️ Assisted living transfer support
✔️ Rehab and hospital patient handling
Its narrow base positioning and smooth rolling casters help improve maneuverability in rooms where larger lifts may be harder to navigate.

An optional integrated scale can be added for patient weighing during transfers.
✔️ Helpful for rehab environments
✔️ Supports patient weight monitoring
✔️ Useful for clinical documentation
✔️ Adds convenience during care
