Description

Medacure 850 lb Full Body Sling – Bariatric Hoyer Lift Sling for Larger Patients

The Medacure 850 lb Full Body Sling is a bariatric Hoyer lift sling for larger patients who need full body support during transfers. Medacure rates it for 850 lbs and makes it in 2X-Large and 3X-Large, the sizes standard slings stop short of. Not sure which sling you need? Start with our patient lift sling buying guide on sling types, sizing and lift compatibility, then the patient lift sling knowledge base for quick answers.

It is an 850 lb patient lift sling with four color-coded loops on each strap, so caregivers can set the seating angle the same way every time. Medacure builds its 850 lb slings for the Free Spirit Pro FS850 true bariatric patient lift, which carries the same 850 lb rating.

For patients up to 660 lbs in sizes Small to 2X-Large, see the Medacure full body sling. Call 585-505-6665 and we will check the sling against your lift.

  • ✔️ Bariatric Sizes 2X-Large and 3X-Large
  • ✔️ Full Body Support
  • ✔️ 4 Color-Coded Loops per Strap
  • ✔️ Made for Bariatric Patient Lifts

Who Is the 850 lb Full Body Sling Best For?

  • Bariatric patients who need full body support in transfers
  • Facilities and homes with a bariatric patient lift
  • Patients who need 2X-Large or 3X-Large sizing
  • Bed to chair, wheelchair or commode transfers
  • Caregivers who want a high weight rating with room to spare

Not sure which sling type you need? Our patient lift sling knowledge base explains each sling family, and the sling assessment tool narrows it down in a few questions.

Who May Need a Different Sling?

  • Patients under 2X-Large: the standard Medacure full body sling fits better.
  • Seated placement: the 850 lb divided leg sling goes on while seated.
  • Standard 400 to 450 lb lifts: the lift rating limits the transfer, so pair this sling with a bariatric lift.
  • Clip-style lifts: this is a loop sling. Check your spreader bar or call us.

850 lb Weight Capacity

Medacure rates this sling for 850 lbs. Your safe limit is always the lower of the sling rating and the lift rating. Pair it with a bariatric lift rated for the patient’s weight.

Full Body Support in Bariatric Sizes

The sling supports the back and thighs in one piece, sized 2X-Large and 3X-Large to fit larger body shapes without the sling digging in behind the knees or riding up under the arms.

Color-Coded Loop Straps

Each strap carries four color-coded loops. Hooking the same color on both sides keeps the patient level; shorter loops sit them more upright, longer loops recline them. Note the color that works and repeat it every transfer.

Choosing a Bariatric Sling

Size by body shape as much as weight: the sling should reach from the upper back to past the tailbone with the leg pieces fully under the thighs. If a 2X-Large is snug at the hips, go to 3X-Large. Call us with height, weight and hip width if you are unsure.

Using a Bariatric Sling Safely

Plan bariatric transfers with two caregivers, check every loop before the patient leaves the surface, and lift only as high as needed. Always follow the lift manufacturer’s instructions.

Sizes

Each size has its own Medacure item number:

Size Medacure Item #
2X-Large 850-XXL
3X-Large 850-3XL

Fit matters more than weight alone. A sling that is too big lets the patient slip; one that is too small presses into the body. If you are between sizes, call us at 585-505-6665 with the patient's height, weight and build.

Before You Order: A Quick Sling Checklist

  • Lift type: confirm your lift uses a spreader bar with hooks (loop slings) or a sit-to-stand frame, and check its weight rating.
  • Patient size: have height, weight and hip width ready; size by build, not weight alone.
  • Routine: note whether the sling is mainly for transfers, toileting or bathing, since that decides solid, commode or mesh.
  • Spares: most caregivers keep a second sling so one can be washed while the other is in use.
  • Inspection: plan to check stitching, loops and fabric before every lift and replace a worn sling right away.

Send us the lift model and the patient’s measurements and we will confirm the right Medacure sling and size before it ships.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weight capacity?

Medacure rates the 850 lb full body sling for 850 lbs. Your safe limit is always the lower of the sling rating and the lift rating.

Which sizes are available?

2X-Large (850-XXL) and 3X-Large (850-3XL).

Which lift is it made for?

Medacure builds its 850 lb slings for the Free Spirit Pro FS850 true bariatric patient lift, which carries the same 850 lb rating. It is a loop sling, so it also fits other bariatric lifts with hook-style spreader bars. Send us your lift model to confirm.

Can I use it on a standard 450 lb lift?

The sling will attach to many hook-style bars, but the lift’s 450 lb rating is then the limit. For patients over that, use a bariatric lift.

Is there a divided leg version?

Yes, Medacure makes an 850 lb divided leg sling in 2X-Large and 3X-Large.

What warranty does Medacure offer?

Medacure lists a limited lifetime warranty on its slings.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
