Designed specifically for homecare users, seniors, recovery patients, rehabilitation settings, and long-term care environments, this advanced adjustable hospital bed for home use provides smooth electric positioning, ultra-low height capability, reinforced steel durability, and enhanced patient safety — all while maintaining a cleaner, more modern appearance than traditional institutional beds.
Unlike outdated bulky medical beds, the Akra-FE™ combines elegant styling with true clinical functionality, making it an excellent medical bed for home settings where comfort, safety, caregiver accessibility, and appearance all matter.
Advanced Full Electric Positioning for Comfort & Care
The Akra-FE™ is a true full electric hospital bed, allowing users and caregivers to electronically adjust:
- ✔️ Head elevation
- ✔️ Foot and knee positioning

Using the simple hand pendant, users can comfortably reposition themselves throughout the day and night without requiring manual cranks or strenuous caregiver assistance.
This functionality is especially beneficial for:
- ✔️ Elderly individuals with mobility limitations
- ✔️ Patients recovering from surgery or hospitalization
- ✔️ Individuals with circulation or respiratory conditions
- ✔️ Long-term bed users needing frequent repositioning
- ✔️ Caregivers assisting with transfers and daily care
Ultra Low Bed Position for Enhanced Safety
One of the biggest advantages of the Protekt Akra-FE™ is its ultra-low bed positioning capability.
With a height range adjustable from approximately 9” to 23”, this adjustable hospital bed for home use helps reduce fall risk and makes transfers safer and easier for both patients and caregivers.
The lower bed height is especially valuable for:
- ✔️ Fall-risk patients
- ✔️ Elderly individuals with balance challenges
- ✔️ Dementia or cognitive care environments
- ✔️ Assisted living and long-term care settings
- ✔️ Easier wheelchair and walker transfers
The low positioning also provides additional peace of mind for family caregivers concerned about nighttime falls or patient safety.

Unlike traditional institutional hospital beds, the Akra-FE™ was designed with modern homecare aesthetics in mind.
The sleek black textured vein finish with grey headboard and footboard accents creates a cleaner and more contemporary appearance that blends more naturally into residential environments.
This makes it an excellent option for:
- ✔️ Homecare bedrooms
- ✔️ Assisted living residences
- ✔️ Long-term recovery at home
- ✔️ Hospice and palliative care settings

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is a full electric hospital bed?
A full electric hospital bed allows users to electronically adjust the head, foot, and height positions using a remote hand pendant without manual cranking. This improves comfort, positioning, circulation, and caregiver convenience.
Who should use a low hospital bed?
Low hospital beds are ideal for elderly individuals, fall-risk patients, dementia care environments, and users with mobility challenges because the lower height helps reduce injury risk and makes transfers safer.
Can this adjustable hospital bed be used at home?
Yes. The Protekt Akra-FE™ was specifically designed as a medical bed for home use and blends much better into residential environments than traditional institutional hospital beds.
Does this bed come with a mattress?
Mattress options may vary depending on the package selected. Many customers pair this bed with pressure relief foam mattresses or alternating pressure systems depending on patient needs.
Is the bed difficult to assemble?
No. The bed ships in only two boxes and features quick-connect motor attachments for faster and easier setup.
What happens if the power goes out?
The bed includes both a 9V battery backup capability and an emergency hand crank system to help safely lower or reposition the bed during power outages.
What type of patients is this bed best suited for?
This bed is excellent for seniors, post-surgery recovery patients, long-term care users, individuals with limited mobility, and homecare patients needing easier repositioning and transfers.
Can caregivers easily raise and lower the bed?
Yes. The electronic hand pendant makes height adjustments extremely simple for caregivers, reducing physical strain during transfers and patient care.
Does the low bed height help prevent falls?
Yes. The ultra-low positioning reduces the distance to the floor, helping minimize fall risk and improve safety for vulnerable patients.
What makes this different from a semi-electric hospital bed?
Unlike semi-electric beds, this full electric hospital bed electronically adjusts both the positioning and overall bed height without requiring manual crank adjustments.
