This advanced adjustable medical bed combines full-electric positioning with practical homecare functionality, allowing users and caregivers to electronically adjust the upper body, knees, and overall bed height using an intuitive hand pendant. Unlike standard household beds, this home health hospital bed helps support proper positioning, easier caregiving, safer transfers, mobility assistance, circulation support, respiratory comfort, and improved long-term patient care.
Built with durable washable bed ends, quiet low-voltage motor operation, color-coded maintenance connections, non-marring casters, emergency manual crank access, and Invacare’s trusted homecare bed engineering, this bed is ideal for families, caregivers, home health agencies, rehabilitation environments, hospice care, and long-term care users who need a reliable and easy-to-manage care solution.
Why a Medical Adjustable Bed Can Make Daily Care Easier
A proper medical adjustable bed does much more than simply raise or lower the patient. It helps improve daily comfort, safer caregiving, positioning support, transfers, and long-term homecare management.
The Invacare IVC Full-Electric Homecare Hospital Bed allows users and caregivers to electronically adjust:
- ✔️ Upper body elevation
- ✔️ Knee and leg positioning
- ✔️ Overall bed height
- ✔️ Sitting and resting positions
- ✔️ Transfer height for wheelchair or walker access
- ✔️ Caregiver working height during daily care
This is especially important for users who spend extended time in bed or require regular caregiver assistance throughout the day and night.
For many families, switching from a regular bed to an adjustable medical bed significantly improves comfort, independence, safety, and caregiver convenience.
Who Is This Home Health Hospital Bed Best For?
This home health hospital bed is an excellent option for:
- ✔️ Seniors aging at home
- ✔️ Elderly individuals needing easier transfers
- ✔️ Patients recovering after surgery or hospitalization
- ✔️ Long-term homecare patients
- ✔️ Hospice and palliative care patients
- ✔️ Individuals with limited mobility
- ✔️ Users needing positioning support for comfort
- ✔️ Caregivers needing adjustable working height
- ✔️ Families creating a safer long-term bedroom setup
- ✔️ Home health providers and care facilities
This bed is especially useful when a standard bed no longer provides enough support, accessibility, transfer assistance, or positioning flexibility for safe and comfortable care.
Full-Electric Adjustment for Easier Transfers & Positioning
The full-electric functionality allows caregivers and users to make adjustments quickly using the ergonomic hand pendant.
The ability to electronically raise or lower the bed height can help with:
- ✔️ Wheelchair transfers
- ✔️ Walker-assisted standing
- ✔️ Bedside commode access
- ✔️ Safer patient repositioning
- ✔️ Reduced caregiver bending and lifting strain
- ✔️ Easier dressing and hygiene care
The adjustable upper-body positioning also helps users sit up more comfortably for meals, breathing support, reading, watching television, or reducing prolonged flat positioning discomfort.
Important Notice: Need a Low Bed for Fall-Risk Safety?
This Invacare IVC Full-Electric Homecare Hospital Bed features a standard full-electric height range of approximately 15” to 23”.
If the user is considered high fall-risk, has dementia-related wandering or nighttime safety concerns, frequently rolls out of bed, or requires the bed positioned closer to the floor, a low hospital bed may be more appropriate.
For lower floor clearance and enhanced elderly fall-risk protection, please view the:
Invacare IVC Full-Electric Low Homecare Bed
The low-bed version lowers to approximately 9.5”, helping reduce injury risk and improve safer transfers for vulnerable users.
