Description

Invacare Full-Electric Hospital Bed Package – Bed, Full-Length Rails and Innerspring Mattress

This hospital bed package is Invacare’s own bundle of the three things a home hospital bed setup needs: the Invacare IVC full-electric homecare bed (5410IVC), a pair of Invacare full-length bed rails (6629) and an Invacare innerspring mattress (5185). It’s one item, one order, under Invacare’s package code BED2-1633.

If you’ve been pricing out a hospital bed with mattress and rails piece by piece, this takes the matching off your plate. Invacare designs its beds, rails and mattresses to work together, and the rails in this package are made for the 5410IVC.

The bed is a full electric hospital bed: a 6-button hard-wired pendant raises and lowers the head, the feet and the whole bed. The sleep surface goes from 15″ to 23″ high, Invacare rates the bed for a 350 lb patient, and a built-in hand crank keeps it usable during a power outage.

What’s in the Package

  • Invacare IVC Full-Electric Homecare Bed (5410IVC): head, foot and height adjust electrically; 6-button hard-wired pendant; built-in emergency hand crank; steel frame; interchangeable, washable bed ends
  • Invacare full-length bed rails (6629): chrome-plated welded steel, sold by Invacare as a pair
  • Invacare homecare innerspring mattress, 36″ x 80″ (5185): .312 coil innerspring for firm support, double 11-ounce vinyl cover

Invacare ships the bed itself in three boxes (174 lbs total), and recommends that two people handle and assemble it.

Why Choose This Invacare Bed Package?

You get a complete bed in one order, with parts Invacare made to go together. Invacare says its products are designed to be used with Invacare accessories, and that accessories from other makers haven’t been tested by Invacare. Buying the bed, rails and mattress as Invacare’s own package keeps you inside that system.

The bed is also practical for whoever maintains it: the panels are impact- and scratch-resistant and washable, the rubber casters are non-marring, the motor system has waterproof enclosures, and Invacare uses color-coded junction box connections for simple maintenance, and the bed ends are interchangeable and washable with standard water pressure.

Full-Electric Head, Foot and Height With a 6-Button Pendant

Everything moves at the push of a button. The 6-button remote controls the head section, the foot section and the bed height, so the person can sit up to read or watch TV, lie flat to sleep, or stop anywhere in between. The remote is hard-wired to the bed, so it doesn’t get lost. Invacare describes the motor as noiseless and the wiring as dual-insulated.

Sleep Surface Adjusts From 15″ to 23″ High

Bed height matters for two people: the person getting in and out, and the caregiver. Lower it toward 15″ for getting in and out, and raise it toward 23″ so a caregiver can help with less bending.

350 lb Patient Weight Capacity

Invacare rates the 5410IVC for a patient weight of up to 350 lbs on a steel frame. The total product weight capacity (Invacare’s safe working load), which counts the patient plus the mattress and anything else on the bed, is 450 lbs. The bed is UL962 and CSA certified.

Built-In Emergency Hand Crank

If the power goes out, the bed still works. Invacare builds in a hand crank for emergencies and power outages.

Full-Length Chrome-Plated Bed Rails

The 6629 rails are full-length, chrome-plated welded steel, and Invacare sells them as a pair. Spring-loaded, self-adjusting crossbraces snap into place without tools, and Invacare designs them to stand up to heavy-duty use. Invacare lists them for its 5310IVC semi-electric beds and its 5410IVC and 5410LOW full-electric beds, so they fit the bed in this package.

Who Is This Hospital Bed Package Best For?

This package is a good fit for:

  • Families setting up a hospital bed at home for the first time who want everything in one order
  • People up to 350 lbs who need to raise the head or feet, or change bed height, throughout the day
  • Caregivers who help with transfers and want to set the bed at a comfortable working height
  • Homes where the person needs bed rails on both sides of the bed

Who May Need a Different Bed or Mattress?

  • Patients over 350 lbs: choose a bariatric bed. Call us at 585-505-6665 about Invacare’s 600 lb bariatric bed package.
  • People who need more pressure redistribution than an innerspring mattress gives: look at a foam mattress such as the Invacare Softform Premier Foam Mattress, or ask us about swapping the mattress.
  • Anyone who only needs the bed: the Invacare IVC Full-Electric Homecare Bed is sold on its own (mattress and rails sold separately).
  • Small rooms: the frame is 88″ long and 36″ wide. Measure the room before you order.

Common Problem → Bed Package Solution

Problem: Mom is coming home after a hospital stay and needs a hospital bed by the weekend. The family has a bed picked out but doesn’t know which rails fit it or which mattress size to buy.

Solution: Order the package. The bed, full-length rails and innerspring mattress come together from Invacare, so nothing has to be matched by hand.

“What if the power goes out at night?” The 5410IVC has a built-in hand crank for emergencies and outages.

Sizing & Fit

  • Bed frame: 88″ long x 36″ wide.
  • Sleep surface: 80″ long x 36″ wide.
  • Sleep surface height: 15″ to 23″.
  • Capacity: 350 lbs patient, 450 lbs product weight capacity.
  • Delivery: the bed arrives in three boxes, the largest 47″ x 9″ x 37″. Plan a clear path to the room.

Safety Notes

Invacare states that its beds, mattresses and rails, excluding therapeutic support surfaces and bariatric beds, meet the voluntary FDA guidelines for bed rail entrapment when they’re used as a system and sold new and unused after August 1, 2007. Keep the Invacare rails and mattress from this package together on this bed, and follow the owner’s manual for rail installation and use. Invacare recommends two people for handling and assembly.

Care & Cleaning

The bed ends are washable with standard water pressure, per Invacare. For the frame, the mattress and the rails, follow the care steps in the Invacare owner’s manuals that come with them.

Warranty

Invacare’s limited warranty on the 5410IVC bed is 5 years on welds and 2 years on mechanical and electrical parts. Ask us for the current terms on the rails and mattress. Call 585-505-6665 and we’ll help with any claim.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
