Description

Invacare Hospital Bed Mattress Designed for Pressure Sore Prevention & Long-Term Comfort

The Invacare Solace Prevention Pressure Redistribution Hospital Bed Mattress is a therapeutic foam support surface designed to help reduce pressure buildup, improve patient comfort, and aid in pressure ulcer prevention for individuals spending extended periods in bed.

Built with specialized zoned high-density foam, fortress-cut convoluted pressure redistribution technology, fluid-resistant healthcare covers, and optional raised side rail support configurations, this Invacare hospital bed mattress is designed for homecare, nursing facilities, rehab centers, assisted living environments, and long-term patient care.

Whether you are searching for:

  • ✔️ An Invacare hospital bed mattress
  • ✔️ A pressure sore prevention mattress
  • ✔️ A mattress for bed sore prevention
  • ✔️ A foam mattress for hospital beds
  • ✔️ A pressure redistribution mattress
  • ✔️ A therapeutic medical foam mattress
  • ✔️ A mattress for elderly patients
  • ✔️ A hospital mattress for long-term bed rest
  • ✔️ A supportive mattress for pressure relief
  • ✔️ A fluid-resistant medical bed mattress

the Invacare Solace Prevention Mattress is built to provide therapeutic support, improved immersion, enhanced comfort, and pressure redistribution for patients who may be vulnerable to skin breakdown and prolonged pressure exposure.

Why the Invacare Solace Prevention Mattress Stands Out

Unlike standard flat foam mattresses, the Invacare Solace Prevention Mattress uses a specialized therapeutic foam design with multiple support zones to help improve body contact and pressure redistribution.

Key features include:

  • ✔️ Zoned high-density therapeutic foam
  • ✔️ Fortress-cut convoluted pressure redistribution surface
  • ✔️ Soft head and heel comfort sections
  • ✔️ Pressure redistribution support
  • ✔️ Fluid-resistant healthcare mattress cover
  • ✔️ Nylon top with tri-laminate vinyl bottom
  • ✔️ Optional raised side rail design
  • ✔️ Built-in side supports on select models
  • ✔️ 80” and 84” length options
  • ✔️ Designed for pressure ulcer prevention support

This mattress is ideal for patients who need better pressure management than a basic innerspring or standard foam mattress can provide.

Pressure Redistribution Support for Long-Term Bed Rest

One of the most important goals of this mattress is pressure redistribution.

Patients who spend long periods in bed may develop concentrated pressure around vulnerable body areas such as:

  • ✔️ Sacrum and hips
  • ✔️ Shoulder blades
  • ✔️ Lower back
  • ✔️ Heels and feet
  • ✔️ Tailbone area

The therapeutic foam structure is designed to help distribute body weight more evenly across the mattress surface to reduce concentrated pressure points.

This makes the Invacare Solace Prevention Mattress a strong pressure sore prevention mattress option for:

  • ✔️ Elderly patients
  • ✔️ Long-term bed users
  • ✔️ Rehab patients
  • ✔️ Homecare patients
  • ✔️ Nursing facility residents
  • ✔️ Assisted living residents
  • ✔️ Patients recovering from surgery or illness

Fortress-Cut Convoluted Foam Technology

The mattress features a unique convoluted “fortress” cut foam design that increases surface contact between the patient and the mattress.

This specialized structure helps:

  • ✔️ Improve pressure redistribution
  • ✔️ Enhance patient immersion
  • ✔️ Increase comfort during long bed stays
  • ✔️ Reduce concentrated pressure buildup
  • ✔️ Improve airflow around the body

Compared to flat foam mattresses, the fortress-cut design creates more supportive contact points across the mattress surface.

Three-Zone Pressure Relief Design

The Invacare Solace Prevention Mattress uses three therapeutic support zones designed to target important pressure-sensitive body areas.

The mattress includes:

  • ✔️ Soft head section for comfort
  • ✔️ Pressure redistribution center support zone
  • ✔️ Soft heel section for vulnerable lower extremities

The softer heel area is especially important for patients vulnerable to heel pressure buildup and circulation concerns from prolonged bed rest.

Fluid-Resistant Healthcare Mattress Cover

The mattress includes a durable healthcare-grade cover system designed for hygiene, cleaning, and long-term care environments.

Cover construction includes:

  • ✔️ 70 denier nylon top cover
  • ✔️ 11 oz. tri-laminate vinyl bottom
  • ✔️ Fluid-resistant protection
  • ✔️ Easy cleaning surface
  • ✔️ Durable healthcare construction

This helps support infection control routines and easier daily maintenance for caregivers and facilities.

Optional Raised Side Rail Design

Some versions of the Solace Prevention Mattress are available with optional raised side rail support.

These raised edges help:

  • ✔️ Improve edge definition
  • ✔️ Add positioning stability
  • ✔️ Help reduce rolling toward bed edges
  • ✔️ Improve caregiver confidence during repositioning
  • ✔️ Enhance transfer support

This can be especially helpful for:

  • ✔️ Elderly users
  • ✔️ Patients with mobility limitations
  • ✔️ Patients needing repositioning assistance
  • ✔️ Long-term care residents

Built-In Side Supports on Solace Prevention 2080 Models

The Solace Prevention 2080 models include built-in side supports designed to provide additional stability and durability.

Benefits include:

  • ✔️ Stronger edge support
  • ✔️ Improved transfer stability
  • ✔️ Better sitting edge support
  • ✔️ Enhanced durability for long-term use
  • ✔️ More caregiver confidence during transfers

These features help separate the 2080 series from more basic foam hospital mattresses.

80” and 84” Length Options

The mattress is available in:

  • ✔️ Standard 80” hospital bed length
  • ✔️ Extended 84” hospital bed length

This helps accommodate:

  • ✔️ Taller users
  • ✔️ Long-term care patients
  • ✔️ Adjustable hospital bed setups
  • ✔️ Homecare and facility applications

Standard width is:

  • ✔️ 36” width

Mattress height:

  • ✔️ 6” therapeutic foam profile
