Nursing Home Beds – Joerns WeCare Long Term Care Hospital Bed
The Joerns WeCare™ Bed is a cost-effective, high-quality solution for facilities, caregivers, and families looking for dependable nursing home beds that support resident comfort, fall prevention, caregiver safety, and easier delivery. Designed for both institutional care and community-based care, the WeCare bed brings Joerns’ long-standing reputation for reliability into a practical bed system that is easier to transport, easier to set up, and easier to manage every day. This advanced long term care bed is built for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehab centers, hospice environments, and homecare settings that need a durable, flexible, and caregiver-friendly hospital bed for home care. With an ultra-low 8″ height, 28″ ergonomic high height, therapeutic grid sleep deck, four DC motors, AutoContour positioning, optional staff controls, multiple assist devices, and optional width and length extensions, the Joerns WeCare bed is designed to deliver safer care without unnecessary complexity.
Why the Joerns WeCare Bed Stands Out
The Joerns WeCare bed is designed to provide dependable care without compromise. It combines the practical needs of facility care with the safety and comfort needs of the resident. Key advantages include:
- ✔️ Ultra-low height for fall-risk support
- ✔️ Ergonomic caregiver working height
- ✔️ Strong tubular steel frame stability
- ✔️ Therapeutic grid sleep deck support
- ✔️ AutoContour positioning for comfort
- ✔️ Optional staff control with lockout
- ✔️ Optional Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg
- ✔️ Flexible width and length accessories
- ✔️ One-person delivery and setup design
For buyers comparing nursing home beds, the WeCare bed is especially strong because it focuses on the three things that matter most in daily care: resident safety, caregiver efficiency, and dependable long-term performance.
Best For These Care Settings
The Joerns WeCare bed is an excellent choice for:
- ✔️ Nursing homes
- ✔️ Assisted living facilities
- ✔️ Long-term care facilities
- ✔️ Hospice care settings
- ✔️ Rehabilitation centers
- ✔️ Home health agencies
- ✔️ Families needing a hospital bed for home care
- ✔️ Fall-risk residents
- ✔️ Patients needing safer transfers
- ✔️ Caregivers needing reduced lifting strain
This bed is especially helpful when the user needs a safer sleeping surface, easier repositioning, lower bed height, and stronger caregiver access than a basic home hospital bed can provide.
Ultra-Low Height for Fall-Risk Safety
One of the most important features of the Joerns WeCare bed is its low-height positioning. Depending on model configuration:
- ✔️ WeCare low models: 8″ – 28″ height range
- ✔️ Base model: 8.75″ – 26″ height range
The ultra-low height helps reduce the distance to the floor for fall-risk residents, while the higher working height helps caregivers perform care tasks with less bending and strain. This makes the WeCare bed a strong choice for:
- ✔️ Residents at risk of falls
- ✔️ Elderly users with limited mobility
- ✔️ Nighttime safety concerns
- ✔️ Safer bed entry and exit
- ✔️ Caregiver-assisted transfers
Comfort-Focused Therapeutic Grid Sleep Deck
The WeCare bed includes a therapeutic grid sleep surface designed to provide better resident comfort and dependable mattress support. The three-section mattress support platform helps support:
- ✔️ Comfort during long-term use
- ✔️ Shear reduction
- ✔️ Repositioning support
- ✔️ Sleep deck stability
- ✔️ Better care positioning
This matters especially in nursing home and long-term care environments where residents may spend extended time in bed and need dependable support throughout the day and night.
AutoContour Positioning for Resident Comfort
The WeCare bed includes standard 3-function hand pendant control plus AutoContour positioning. AutoContour helps raise the head and knee sections together to create a more supportive seated position. This can help:
- ✔️ Reduce sliding down in bed
- ✔️ Improve seated comfort
- ✔️ Support easier repositioning
- ✔️ Reduce shear forces
- ✔️ Improve resident stability
For long-term care residents, AutoContour can make a major difference in comfort, positioning, and daily caregiver routines.
Four DC Motors for Smooth Operation
The Joerns WeCare bed uses four quality DC motors for effortless operation. This helps support:
- ✔️ Smooth height adjustment
- ✔️ Reliable sleep deck articulation
- ✔️ Better caregiver control
- ✔️ Daily long-term care use
- ✔️ Consistent resident positioning
The ergonomic 8-function hand pendant includes an integrated hook for convenient storage and easy caregiver access.
Optional Staff Control with Lockout
For facilities and professional caregivers, the optional staff control adds important management features. Optional staff control may include:
- ✔️ Pendant function lockout
- ✔️ Trendelenburg positioning
- ✔️ Reverse Trendelenburg positioning
- ✔️ Gravity-assisted repositioning
- ✔️ Improved care team control
This is especially useful in nursing homes and care facilities where staff may need to manage bed functions based on resident safety, mobility level, or care plan requirements.
Model Options Available
This bed is available in multiple configurations so buyers can choose the best setup for their care environment. Available model choices include:
- ✔️ WeCare Base Bed Split-Frame Design
- ✔️ WeCare Base Bed Split-Frame Design – Roll-In-Low
- ✔️ WeCare Base Bed 1-Piece Design – Roll-In-Low
- ✔️ WeCare Base Bed 1-Piece Design – Roll-Any-Height
Split-Frame Design
The split-frame design is ideal when easier delivery, transport, and setup are major priorities. It helps reduce handling strain and supports more practical installation in homes, facilities, and tighter delivery environments.
1-Piece Design
The 1-piece design may be preferred in certain facility environments where a complete frame system is desired and frequent delivery constraints are less of a concern.
Roll-In-Low
Roll-In-Low models are designed to support low-height safety positioning while allowing practical bed mobility.
Roll-Any-Height
Roll-Any-Height models offer added convenience when the bed needs to be moved or repositioned at different height settings.
Optional Width & Length Extensions
The Joerns WeCare bed can be customized for different resident sizes and comfort needs. Available sizing options include:
- ✔️ Standard 35″ bed width
- ✔️ Optional 39″ Twin XL width
- ✔️ Optional 42″ width
- ✔️ Standard 80″ bed length
- ✔️ Optional 4″ length extender
These options help improve comfort, simplify repositioning, and support residents who need additional space compared to a standard-width care bed.
Assist Devices & Optional Accessories
The WeCare bed supports multiple optional accessories to match different resident and facility needs. Available accessory options include:
- ✔️ F14 Assist Device
- ✔️ F025 Assist Handle
- ✔️ F026 Assist Handle
- ✔️ F028 Deluxe Assist Handle
- ✔️ F168 Assist Device
- ✔️ Trapeze Patient Helper
- ✔️ Width Extension
- ✔️ Length Extension
- ✔️ Transport Dolly and Stair Climber
- ✔️ Storage and Transport Cart
- ✔️ Multiple panel style and finish options
Assist devices can help with safer repositioning, bed entry, bed exit, and resident confidence during mobility routines.
Designed for Easier Delivery & Setup
The WeCare bed was field tested for one-person delivery and setup, making it highly practical for providers, facilities, and homecare deliveries. Delivery and setup benefits include:
- ✔️ One-person delivery design
- ✔️ Transport dolly option
- ✔️ Stair climber option
- ✔️ Parcel or pallet shipping flexibility

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
