Description
Medacure Q-Bar QB900 – Quad Shaped Bed Grab Bar for Safer Sitting and Standing
The Medacure QB900 is a bed grab bar for elderly patients who need a steady hand to sit up and stand from the edge of the bed. Mounted at the head end, it stays put and gives grab points at several heights. Setting up a bed? Read our hospital bed buying guide and the hospital bed knowledge base.
This qbar assist bar fits all Medacure long term care bed frames (except the ULB3.9 floor bed series), with a clamp mount or a pin mount.
As a quad shaped assist bar, it offers support without the long gaps of full rails, and it comes as a set of 2. Questions about your bed? Call us at 585-505-6665.
✅ Key Features
- ✔️ Quad Shaped Q-Bar, Easy to Grab
- ✔️ Stays Stationary and Secure
- ✔️ Clamp or Pin Mount
- ✔️ Fits Medacure LTC Bed Frames
- ✔️ Holds the Bed Hand Pendant
- ✔️ Steel, 12″ x 12″, Set of 2
Why a Q-Bar?
Sitting on the edge of the bed and standing up is the moment most falls start. A Q-bar puts a firm handhold right where the patient pushes up, at the head end of the bed. Its compact quad shape gives grab points at more than one height, so tall and short users, and patients who pull or push, all find a natural grip. It does all this without the long enclosed openings of a full side rail.
Who Is It Best For?
- Residents of long term care and home care on Medacure LTC beds
- Patients who can stand with a little support
- People who sit on the edge of the bed to dress or rest
- Facilities removing full rails to reduce entrapment risk
Who May Need Something Else?
- Other bed brands: the Universal Q-Bar UQB950 fits most frames.
- Patients who need a rail that swings out of the way: see the Medacure SoftSecure swing rail.
- Patients who cannot bear weight: use a patient lift. See our patient lift buying guide.
Clamp or Pin Mount
Choose the mount that suits your bed. Clamp mount (C): a mounting clamp with star knob secures the bar anywhere along the frame, so you can place it exactly where the patient reaches. Pin mount (P): a pin bolt with wire secures it at a fixed location at the head end of the bed frame, for a permanent, tamper resistant position. Both use the same steel bar.
Stationary and Secure
The QB900 remains stationary once mounted. There is no swing joint or latch to wear, so the bar feels the same every time the patient reaches for it. Rugged steel construction stands up to daily use in homes and facilities.
Hand Pendant Within Reach
The bed’s hand pendant can hang on the bar, so the patient can raise the head of the bed or adjust height without searching for the controller.
Installing the QB900
- Pick the side and spot at the head end of the bed.
- Clamp mount: fit the mounting clamp to the frame and tighten the star knob. Pin mount: insert the pin bolt in the frame’s fixed point and secure the wire.
- Confirm the mattress sits snugly against the bar side.
- Pull and push firmly to test before use.
Safe Use Tips
- Check the mount is tight before each use
- Keep the mattress snug to the frame, with no gaps
- Do not use the bar to lift a patient or as a restraint
- Inspect for loose hardware weekly

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Q-bar?
A Q-bar is a quad shaped assist bar: a compact square steel handle with grab points at several heights. It mounts at the head end of the bed and gives the patient a steady handhold for sitting at the edge of the bed and standing up.
Which beds does the QB900 fit?
Medacure makes it for all Medacure long term care bed frames (except the ULB3.9 floor bed series). For other brands of hospital bed, choose the Universal Q-Bar UQB950, which includes adapters for most frames.
What is the difference between clamp and pin mount?
The clamp mount can be placed anywhere along the bed frame and tightened with a star knob. The pin mount bolts in at a fixed location at the head end with a pin bolt and wire. Pick clamp for flexibility, pin for a fixed, permanent position.
Does the QB900 move or swing?
No. It is a fixed bar that remains stationary and secure, which many patients prefer when pushing up to stand.
Is it a fall prevention rail?
No. It is a transfer aid, not a restraint. For patients who may roll out of bed, ask the care team about a low bed, floor mats or a defined perimeter mattress.
How many come in a box?
Medacure’s price list sells the QB900 as a set of 2, one for each side of the bed.
How big is it?
12″ W x 12″ H, steel.
Is it safe?
Medacure designs and produces its bed rails in accordance with the FDA’s bed safety guidelines. The short, open quad shape keeps the gaps of long rails away from the patient.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
