Low Air Loss & Alternating Pressure Therapy for Hospital Bed Pressure Sore Support

The Protekt® Aire 3000 Alternating Pressure Air Mattress is a powered therapeutic mattress system designed for patients who need both alternating pressure therapy and low air loss support in one complete hospital bed air mattress system.

Built for pressure sore support, moisture control, deep immersion, long-term bed comfort, and safer caregiver-assisted transfers, the Protekt® Aire 3000 combines a quiet user-friendly pump, 20 individual air bladders, a 10-minute alternating pressure cycle, low air loss airflow holes, and a removable non-shear medical cover.

Whether you are searching for:

  • ✔️ An alternating pressure air mattress
  • ✔️ The best air mattress for hospital bed use
  • ✔️ An air mattress for pressure sores
  • ✔️ A low air loss mattress system
  • ✔️ A powered pressure relief mattress
  • ✔️ A hospital bed air mattress with pump
  • ✔️ A mattress for bedridden patients
  • ✔️ A moisture-control medical air mattress
  • ✔️ A pressure sore mattress for homecare
  • ✔️ A therapeutic air mattress for elderly care

the Protekt® Aire 3000 is designed to provide dependable powered pressure redistribution, cooling airflow, comfort customization, and practical long-term support for homecare, rehab, hospice, nursing care, and medical facility environments.

Why the Protekt® Aire 3000 Stands Out

The Protekt® Aire 3000 stands out because it delivers the two most important powered air mattress therapies in one system: alternating pressure and low air loss.

✔️ Low air loss and alternating pressure
✔️ 20 individual therapeutic air bladders
✔️ Deep immersion pressure redistribution
✔️ Quiet user-friendly pump operation
✔️ Custom airflow comfort dial control
✔️ Preset 10-minute alternating cycle
✔️ Static mode for safer transfers
✔️ Visual low-pressure safety alarm
✔️ 18 laser holes keep skin dry
✔️ Removable non-shear medical cover
✔️ Pillow top head stability feature
✔️ Optional foam raised side rails

Dual Therapy: Alternating Pressure + Low Air Loss

The Protekt® Aire 3000 combines two major therapeutic support features in one mattress system.

Alternating Pressure Therapy

Alternating pressure therapy helps shift pressure throughout the mattress by cycling air between different bladder sections.

This helps reduce prolonged pressure on vulnerable areas such as:

  • ✔️ Tailbone and sacrum
  • ✔️ Hips
  • ✔️ Heels
  • ✔️ Back
  • ✔️ Shoulders

For patients who spend long hours in bed, the alternating pressure cycle helps reduce constant pressure loading that can contribute to discomfort, skin irritation, and pressure sore risk.

Low Air Loss Therapy

Low air loss therapy helps keep the patient cooler and drier by allowing controlled airflow through the mattress surface.

The Protekt® Aire 3000 includes 18 laser holes designed to help reduce moisture buildup and improve patient comfort during extended bed rest.

Low air loss support helps:

  • ✔️ Reduce skin heat buildup
  • ✔️ Help manage perspiration
  • ✔️ Keep the surface cooler and drier
  • ✔️ Support skin comfort
  • ✔️ Improve long-term bed tolerance

20 Individual Air Bladders for Deep Immersion

The Protekt® Aire 3000 mattress includes 20 individual bladders designed to provide deep immersion and excellent pressure redistribution.

This matters because the more effectively the body is supported across the mattress surface, the less pressure becomes concentrated in one small area.

The 20-bladder design helps:

  • ✔️ Improve body immersion
  • ✔️ Redistribute pressure more evenly
  • ✔️ Support long-term patient comfort
  • ✔️ Reduce pressure concentration
  • ✔️ Improve therapeutic support consistency

This makes the Protekt® Aire 3000 a strong option for patients needing a powered air mattress for pressure sores without moving into more advanced lateral rotation systems.

Quiet, User-Friendly Pump with Custom Airflow Dial

The Protekt® Aire 3000 pump is designed to be durable, powerful, quiet, and simple for caregivers to use.

The airflow dial allows custom adjustment for:

  • ✔️ Patient comfort
  • ✔️ Body weight support
  • ✔️ Pressure redistribution needs
  • ✔️ Caregiver preference
  • ✔️ Long-term bed comfort

This makes the system practical for both professional care environments and homecare setups where caregivers need straightforward controls without complicated programming.

Preset 10-Minute Alternating Pressure Cycle

The Protekt® Aire 3000 alternates in preset 10-minute intervals.

This cycle helps:

  • ✔️ Shift pressure regularly
  • ✔️ Reduce prolonged body loading
  • ✔️ Support pressure sore treatment routines
  • ✔️ Improve comfort for immobile patients
  • ✔️ Maintain ongoing powered pressure redistribution

This is especially important for:

  • ✔️ Bedridden patients
  • ✔️ Elderly patients with limited mobility
  • ✔️ Patients who cannot reposition independently
  • ✔️ Long-term care residents
  • ✔️ Homecare patients with pressure sore concerns

Static Mode for Safer Transfers

The Protekt® Aire 3000 includes a static function that creates a more stable mattress surface during transfers and care routines.

Static mode is helpful for:

  • ✔️ Moving in and out of bed
  • ✔️ Repositioning
  • ✔️ Caregiver-assisted turning
  • ✔️ Hygiene care
  • ✔️ Clothing changes
  • ✔️ Wound care tasks

This is important because an actively alternating mattress can feel less stable during transfers. Static mode gives caregivers a steadier support surface when patient movement or care tasks are needed.

Visual Low Pressure Alarm for Safety Monitoring

The Protekt® Aire 3000 includes a visual low pressure alarm that alerts caregivers when airflow may be compromised.

This can help identify issues such as:

  • ✔️ Tubing connection problems
  • ✔️ Reduced airflow
  • ✔️ Pressure loss
  • ✔️ Setup concerns
  • ✔️ Mattress support problems

For homecare and facility use, this is an important safety feature because proper airflow is essential for maintaining therapeutic performance.

Removable Non-Shear Medical Cover

The Protekt® Aire 3000 includes a removable nylon cover designed for comfort, protection, and infection-control support.

The cover is:

  • ✔️ Fluid resistant
  • ✔️ Non-shear
  • ✔️ Anti-microbial
  • ✔️ Anti-bacterial
  • ✔️ Removable for easier cleaning
  • ✔️ Designed for medical care environments

The non-shear surface is especially important because friction and shear forces can increase discomfort and skin stress when patients are repositioned in bed.

Pillow Top Feature for Head & Neck Stability

The pillow top feature helps prevent unnecessary head and neck movement during alternating mode.

This is important because many patients need pressure redistribution through the body, but excessive head and neck movement can be uncomfortable or disruptive.

The pillow top design helps:

  • ✔️ Improve head stability
  • ✔️ Reduce unnecessary neck movement
  • ✔️ Improve comfort during therapy
  • ✔️ Support a calmer patient experience

Optional Foam Raised Side Rails

The Protekt® Aire 3000 is available in a standard mattress system and an optional foam raised rail configuration.

Optional raised side rails may help:

  • ✔️ Add side edge definition
  • ✔️ Improve patient edge awareness
  • ✔️ Create a more contained mattress feel
  • ✔️ Support certain fall-risk care setups
  • ✔️ Improve caregiver confidence during repositioning

The standard system is 36” x 80” x 8”, while the raised rail version has an 8”/11” profile due to the added foam rail height.

Who This Alternating Pressure Air Mattress Is Best For

The Protekt® Aire 3000 is best suited for patients who need powered pressure redistribution and moisture management without requiring advanced lateral rotation therapy.

Best for:

  • ✔️ Elderly patients with limited mobility
  • ✔️ Bedridden patients
  • ✔️ Patients at risk for pressure sores

  • ✔️ Homecare hospital bed users
  • ✔️ Long-term care residents
