Description

VOCIC Z55 Walker Wheelchair Combo – A 2-in-1 Rollator That Turns Into a Transport Chair

The VOCIC Z55 is a walker wheelchair combo: a four-wheel aluminum rollator with a padded seat that becomes a transport chair when walking is done for the day. Flip the wide backrest over, swing the footrests down, fasten the seat belt, and a companion can push you the rest of the way. VOCIC rates it for users up to 300 lbs.

New to rollators? Our Complete Walker Buying Guide explains seat height, handle height and weight, then compare the Z55 with our other 4 wheel walkers with seat and rollator walkers with seat.

On walking days, the Z55 is a full rollator wheelchair in one frame: loop brakes that lock, handles that adjust from 33″ to 39″, a storage bag and a cane holder. It folds side to side for the car. Pick your color in the dropdown above: Blue, Red or Black.

Why Choose the VOCIC Z55?

Plenty of people can walk part of an outing but not all of it. With a regular rollator, the trip ends when your legs do. With the Z55, nobody has to go back to the car for a wheelchair: the same frame you walked in with turns into a transport chair in a few seconds.

VOCIC built the transport side properly, with a wide wraparound backrest, footrests and a seat belt, so the ride back is safe and comfortable, not just a seat on wheels. VOCIC backs it with a 1-year warranty.

Who Is the VOCIC Z55 Best For?

The Z55 is a good fit for:

  • Seniors who walk part of an outing and need to be pushed for the rest
  • Caregivers who want one folding aid in the trunk instead of a walker and a wheelchair
  • People rebuilding stamina after illness, surgery or a hospital stay
  • Doctor visits, shopping trips, family events and long hallways
  • Taller users, with handles that reach 39″

Who May Need Something Different?

  • Users over 300 lbs: choose a heavy duty rollator or wheelchair rated above your weight.
  • Anyone who needs a wheelchair all day: a dedicated transport wheelchair or a full wheelchair is more comfortable for long sitting.
  • Anyone who wants to push themselves while seated: the Z55 is caregiver-pushed in transport mode. Look at a self-propelled wheelchair instead.
  • Users who mainly walk on grass and gravel: the VOCIC Z57 Large Wheel Rollator has 12″ front wheels for rough ground.
  • Anyone who has to lift it often: at about 28 lbs it’s heavier than a basic rollator. Our 4 wheel walkers with seat include lighter models.

Rollator to Transport Chair in Seconds

To switch modes, flip the backrest over to the other side and swing the footrests down into place. Fasten the seat belt, and a caregiver pushes from behind. To walk again, flip the backrest back and fold the footrests up against the side of the frame, out of your walking path.

Wide Wraparound Backrest and Seat Belt

The backrest is extra wide and padded, made of Oxford cloth over sponge with a PP board inside, so it supports your back whether you are resting on a walk or riding in transport mode. The included seat belt keeps you secure while you are being pushed.

Loop Brakes That Lock

Squeeze the loop brake levers up to slow down on a walk. Push them down until they lock, and the wheels stay put while you sit, stand or transfer. VOCIC’s manual says to always set both brakes before sitting.

Handles From 33″ to 39″ in 7 Positions

Press the button on each handle and slide it to one of 7 heights between 33″ and 39″. VOCIC’s diagram lists users up to about 6’2″. Set both handles at your wrist-crease height, standing straight in everyday shoes. Folding sit-to-stand handles on the frame give you something to push on when you get up.

Padded 15.6″ Seat at 20.5″ High

The seat is 15.6″ wide and 14.6″ deep, with sponge padding under the fabric, and sits about 20.5″ off the floor, a comfortable height for most adults to sit down and stand up.

Folds Side to Side, Bag and Cane Holder Included

Lift the seat, pull up on the brace and the frame folds side to side for the trunk or a closet. A storage bag under the seat holds up to 11 lbs, and a cane holder keeps a cane or umbrella with you.

Walking Mode vs. Transport Mode

Here is how the Z55 works in each mode:

Walking (Rollator) Mode Riding (Transport) Mode
Who pushes You walk behind the handles A caregiver pushes from behind
Backrest Supports your back when you stop to rest Flipped to the other side to support you on the ride
Footrests Folded up against the frame Down for your feet
Seat belt Not needed for a rest stop Always fastened
Brakes Lock before you sit Lock whenever the chair stops

Choosing Your Options

There’s one dropdown: Color. Every color is the same Z55 with the same seat, backrest, footrests, brakes and measurements. Only the frame color changes.

Color VOCIC SKU What changes
Blue Z55-A-BL Same walker wheelchair combo, color only
Red Z55-A-RD Same walker wheelchair combo, color only
Black Z55-A-BK Same walker wheelchair combo, color only

Questions about a color? Call us at 585-505-6665.

Z55 vs. Other 2-in-1 Rollator Transport Chairs

The Karman R-4602-T 2-in-1 rollator transport chair is lighter and rides on 8″ flat-free casters. The Drive Duet 795 rollator transport chair has a reversible backrest and flip-down footrests. The Z55 stands out with handles that go up to 39″, a wide wraparound backrest, a seat belt and sit-to-stand handles. If you want a premium frame with swivel backrest and flip-around handles, see the Triumph Prestige.

Common Problem → VOCIC Z55 Solution

Problem: Mom wants to walk into the store on her own, but halfway through she’s worn out, and nobody wants to push an empty wheelchair along “just in case”.

Solution: She walks in with the Z55 as a rollator and rests on the seat when she needs to. When she’s done, the backrest flips, the footrests come down, the seat belt goes on, and she rides back to the car.

“Is it hard to switch?” No tools. Flip the backrest and swing the footrests, and it takes a few seconds.

Sizing & Fit

  • User height: VOCIC’s diagram lists up to about 6’2″.
  • Handle height: floor to wrist crease in everyday shoes should land between 33″ and 39″.
  • Seat: 15.6″ wide, 14.6″ deep, about 20.5″ high.
  • Doorways: the open frame is about 25″ wide. Check that your doorways and halls are wider.
  • Weight: 300 lbs maximum; the bag holds up to 11 lbs.

Care & Cleaning

VOCIC’s manual says to clean the Z55 by hand with a damp cloth and no harsh cleaners, keep it out of long sun and rain, and lubricate the wheels if they start to squeak. Check that the brakes lock and the screws are tight before each use. Tires wear over time; call us at 585-505-6665 for replacement parts.

What’s Included

VOCIC lists these parts in the box: 2 front wheels, 2 rear wheels, 2 handles, the seat and frame, 2 brake cables, the storage bag, the backrest, 2 knob screws, 2 footrests, a cane holder and the manual. Expect a few minutes of assembly.

Warranty

VOCIC backs the Z55 with a 1-year warranty. As an authorized VOCIC dealer, we’ll help you with any warranty claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the VOCIC Z55?

It’s VOCIC’s 2-in-1 walker wheelchair combo: a four-wheel aluminum rollator with a padded seat that turns into a transport chair. Flip the backrest, bring the footrests down, fasten the seat belt, and a caregiver can push you. VOCIC rates it for up to 300 lbs.

How do I switch it from a rollator to a transport chair?

Flip the backrest over to the other side, swing the footrests down into place, and fasten the seat belt. To walk with it again, flip the backrest back and fold the footrests up against the side of the frame. No tools are needed.

Can I push myself in transport chair mode?

No. In transport mode the Z55 is pushed by a caregiver from behind. It has small rollator wheels, not large self-propel wheels, so it isn’t a self-propelled wheelchair.

How much weight can it hold?

VOCIC’s manual rates the Z55 for a maximum user weight of 300 lbs. The storage bag holds up to 11 lbs.

How much does it weigh?

About 28 lbs, per VOCIC’s manual. That includes the backrest and footrests, so it’s heavier than a basic rollator but lighter than most wheelchairs.

Will it fit my height?

The handles adjust from 33″ to 39″ in 7 positions, and VOCIC’s diagram lists users up to about 6’2″. Measure from the floor to your wrist crease in everyday shoes; if that’s between 33″ and 39″, it fits.

How wide and how high is the seat?

The seat is 15.6″ wide and 14.6″ deep, and the seat height is about 20.5″, per VOCIC’s manual.

How do the brakes work?

There’s a loop brake on each handle. Pull the levers up to slow down, and push them down until they click to lock the wheels. Always lock both brakes before you sit or stand.

Does it have a seat belt?

Yes. VOCIC includes a seat belt, and its manual says to fasten it every time the Z55 is used as a transport chair.

Does it fold for the car?

Yes. Lift the seat and pull up on the brace and the frame folds side to side. Check your trunk space before you order if you drive a small car.

Can it go outside?

Yes, on firm, even ground like sidewalks, parking lots and paved paths. It rolls on 9.3″ front and 8.1″ rear PU wheels. Avoid slopes, loose gravel and soft ground, and take thresholds and curbs slowly.

Does it come assembled?

Expect a few minutes of assembly. The wheels, handles, backrest and footrests go on by hand with the included screws and tool, and the manual walks through each step.

What’s the warranty?

VOCIC backs the Z55 with a 1-year warranty. Call us at 585-505-6665 and we’ll help with any warranty claim.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
