Description

Medacure Comfort Zone Bariatric – 1,000 lb Bariatric Low Air Loss Mattress with Alternating Pressure

The Medacure Comfort Zone bariatric mattress is a bariatric low air loss mattress rated for 1,000 lbs. A 10″ cell-on-cell surface combines alternating pressure and low air loss for the prevention, treatment and management of pressure ulcers, up to Stage IV per Medacure, in patients standard surfaces cannot carry. Comparing surfaces? Start with our hospital bed mattress buying guide and the medical mattress knowledge base.

Families and facilities searching for a 1000 lb air mattress get five sizes: 42″, 48″ and 54″ wide at 80″ long, and 42″ or 48″ wide at 84″ extra long for tall patients.

As a bariatric air mattress for hospital bed frames, it arrives as a complete system with the whisper quiet digital pump and a quick inflate/deflate pump. Questions about sizing? Call us at 585-505-6665.

✅ Key Features

  • ✔️ True Bariatric 1,000 lb Capacity
  • ✔️ Alternating Pressure + Low Air Loss
  • ✔️ 10″ Cell-on-Cell Surface, No Bottoming Out

  • ✔️ 42″, 48″ or 54″ Wide, 80″ or 84″ Long

A True Bariatric Air Surface

Many mattresses called bariatric are simply wider. The Comfort Zone bariatric series is wider, deeper and rated for 1,000 lbs, with a 10″ surface that gives the cells enough volume to carry a heavy patient while still alternating. Widths go up to 54″, one of the widest air mattresses Medacure makes, and two extra long sizes serve tall bariatric patients.

Who Is It Best For?

  • Bariatric patients up to 1,000 lbs
  • Patients with pressure ulcers, up to Stage IV per Medacure
  • 42″, 48″ and 54″ wide bariatric beds, 80″ or 84″ long
  • Facilities that need one surface for a wide range of patient sizes
  • Patients who are hard to turn and need pressure moved for them

Check fit with the hospital bed mattress assessment tool.

Who May Need Something Else?

Alternating Pressure and Low Air Loss

Twenty snap-out cells alternate on a variable 10, 15, 20 or 25 minute cycle. Eight ventilated low air loss cells move air through the surface to manage heat and moisture, and the top 3 cells stay static as a pillow. A static mode holds the surface steady for care.

Cell-on-Cell Safety and Fast Inflation

The bottom 4″ of each cell retains air, so a power outage does not drop the patient onto the frame. The patented 2 minute inflate/deflate system with its quick inflate/deflate pump, plus the CPR function, lets staff fill or empty the mattress fast.

Digital Pump with HEPA Filter

The whisper quiet digital pump has 10 pressure levels set by the patient’s weight or by firmness, alternating and static modes, comfort level adjustment, auto firm inflation, low pressure and power failure alerts and a panel lock. Medacure lists a quick-change HEPA filter.

Quilted Cover, Quick Connect Hose

The nylon quilted cover has a hidden zipper, and the woven base has an anti slip coating. The patented quick connect hose has a transport function that keeps the mattress inflated during short moves.

Sizes

Medacure Item # Dimensions (L x W x H) Weight Capacity
CZ42 80″ x 42″ x 10″ 1,000 lbs
CZ48 80″ x 48″ x 10″ 1,000 lbs
CZ54 80″ x 54″ x 10″ 1,000 lbs
CZ4284 84″ x 42″ x 10″, extra long 1,000 lbs
CZ4884 84″ x 48″ x 10″, extra long 1,000 lbs

Setting Up

Place the mattress on the deck with the hose at the foot and secure the straps. Hang the pump on the footboard, connect the hose and inflate fully. Set the patient’s weight or comfort level, then position the patient with enough caregivers for a safe bariatric transfer.

Care

Wipe the cover with a mild disinfectant and let it dry. Change the HEPA filter on schedule and inspect cells and hoses regularly.

What’s Included

Comfort Zone bariatric mattress with 20 replaceable cells, quilted cover, digital pump and quick inflate/deflate pump, in the size you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bariatric low air loss mattress?

It is a wide, high capacity powered air mattress that lets a gentle flow of air escape through vented cells to keep skin cool and dry, usually combined with alternating pressure. It is used to prevent and treat pressure ulcers in heavier patients.

What is the weight capacity?

Medacure rates the Comfort Zone bariatric series for 1,000 lbs, which makes it a true bariatric surface.

Which size do I need?

Match the bed deck: 42″, 48″ or 54″ wide at the standard 80″ length (CZ42, CZ48, CZ54), or 42″ and 48″ wide at 84″ extra long (CZ4284, CZ4884). A mattress narrower or shorter than the deck leaves gaps, so measure first.

How tall is it?

All sizes are 10″ high. That extra depth keeps a heavy patient well above the deck. Check that the bed’s side rails clear the surface by the height your clinician requires.

What happens in a power outage?

The cell-on-cell design keeps air in the bottom 4″ of each cell so the patient does not bottom out, and the pump sounds a power failure alert.

How fast does it set up?

Medacure’s patented 2 minute inflate/deflate system, with an included quick inflate/deflate pump, gets the mattress up or down quickly for room turnover and emergencies.

Is there a version with side bolsters?

Yes. The 42″ and 48″ widths are also made with a built-in air perimeter for fall risk patients. See the Comfort Zone with built-in air perimeter.

Is the pump included?

Yes. The system includes the mattress, quilted cover with hidden zipper and the whisper quiet digital pump.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
