Description
Medacure Versatile ULB7/30 – Ultra Low Long Term Care Bed for Fall Safety and Easy Care
The Medacure Versatile ULB7/30 is an ultra low long term care bed: a full electric hospital bed that lowers to 7″ from the floor to reduce injury from falls, then rises to 30″ for comfortable caregiving, rated for 500 lbs. Read our hospital bed buying guide and the hospital bed knowledge base before you choose.
Choose the ULB7/30-CLS for a low hospital bed with central locking: a dual pedal floor lock holds the bed in place from either side.
As a fall prevention bed for nursing homes and home care, it comes with quick release boards and QBar assist bars, and its length extends from 80″ to 88″. Questions? Call us at 585-505-6665.
✅ Key Features
- ✔️ Ultra Low 7″ to High 30″
- ✔️ Hi/Lo, Head, Foot and Auto Contour
- ✔️ Optional Central Locking System
- ✔️ 500 lb Weight Capacity
- ✔️ Boards and QBar Assist Bars Included
- ✔️ Length Extends 80″ to 88″
Why an Ultra Low Bed?
Falls from bed are one of the most common injuries in long term care and at home. An ultra low bed lowers to just 7″ from the floor, so if a resident rolls out, the drop is small. It then rises to 30″ so caregivers can bathe, change and transfer without bending, protecting their backs. One bed covers both needs: safety at night and good working height during care.
Who Is It Best For?
- Residents and patients at risk of falling out of bed
- Nursing homes, assisted living and long term care facilities
- Home care for a loved one with dementia or restlessness at night
- Patients up to 500 lbs
Who May Need Something Else?
- Wider or heavier patients: the Medacure ULB48-X expandable ultra low bed (36″ to 48″) or the Lincoln LX-BARI (750 lbs).
- Highest fall risk: the Medacure ULB3.9 floor bed lowers to 3.9″.
- Simple home care: a homecare bed; see our hospital bed buying guide.
Standard or Central Locking System?
| ULB7/30 | ULB7/30-CLS | |
| Locking | 4 individually locking casters | Dual pedal floor lock, one step from either side |
| Steering | Swivel casters | Directional lock for straight moves |
| Best for | Rooms where the bed rarely moves | Facilities that move beds often |
Auto Contour and Positioning
Four functions cover daily care: hi/lo, head, foot and auto contour. Auto contour raises the head and knees together so the resident does not slide down toward the foot of the bed, which reduces shear on the skin.
Linak Motors and Hand Pendant
Linak actuators and controls power the hi/lo, head, foot and auto contour functions. The 8 function hand pendant uses universal symbols, so residents and staff can adjust the bed without reading small labels.
Rails, Assist Bars and Mattresses
Medacure includes bed boards and QBar assist bars with this bed. For extra security, add the Medacure quarter side rails (HSR28-RV-2) or the SoftSecure swing rails (SAR-2), or the pivot assist bar, all made to fit Medacure long term care frames. The deck takes a standard 36″ x 80″ mattress such as the Medacure ProEx memory foam mattress; when the length is extended, the Medacure mattress extender fills the gap at the foot. Not sure which surface fits? See our hospital bed mattress guide.
Built for Long Term Care
A durable reinforced rectangle tube steel frame, an IV socket on the bed corners and bumper guards on the head end that protect walls from marks and scratches make it ready for daily facility use. Quick release head and foot boards come off without tools for cleaning, transport or emergency access. Boards come in Mahogany, Amber Cherry or Maple; tell us your color in the order notes.
Bed Safety Checklist
- Lock the casters before transfers and care.
- Keep the bed at its lowest height when the resident is in bed and unattended, as the care plan directs.
- Check that the mattress fits the deck with no gaps at the rails or boards.
- Route the pendant and power cord away from moving parts.
- Inspect rails, assist bars and casters weekly.
What’s Included

Frequently Asked Questions
How low does the ULB7/30 go?
The deck lowers to just 7″ from the floor and rises to 30″. Low height reduces the distance of a fall from bed; high height lets caregivers work without bending.
What is the Central Locking System?
On the ULB7/30-CLS, a color coded dual pedal floor lock locks the bed in place from either side with one step, and the casters add a directional lock for straight steering. The standard ULB7/30 has 4 individually locking casters.
Does it come with rails?
It comes with head and foot boards and QBar assist bars. Quarter rails, swing rails and pivot assist bars are sold separately; see the add-ons on this page.
What mattress does it take?
A standard 36″ x 80″ hospital bed mattress. When the length is extended toward 88″, add a mattress extender or an 84″ mattress.
How much weight does it hold?
Medacure rates the ULB7/30 for 500 lbs.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
