Description
Medacure Bubble Pad – Alternating Pressure Pad and Pump That Turns Any Mattress Into an Air Surface
The Medacure BP300 is an alternating pressure pad and pump that adds air therapy to the mattress you already have. A 3″ bubble overlay with 130 alternating cells and low air loss ventilation sits on top of the mattress, and a whisper quiet pump keeps the pressure moving. Comparing surfaces? Start with our hospital bed mattress buying guide and the medical mattress knowledge base.
As an alternating pressure pad for hospital bed and home bed use, it fits any standard mattress and sets up in minutes, with no need to remove the mattress.
Caregivers shopping for a bubble mattress pad get Medacure’s 8-level pump, a 220 lb rating and a 1 year warranty, for prevention and care of pressure ulcers through Stage II. Questions? Call us at 585-505-6665.
✅ Key Features
- ✔️ 130 Alternating Bubble Cells
- ✔️ Low Air Loss Ventilation
- ✔️ Whisper Quiet Pump, 8 Comfort Levels
- ✔️ Fits Any Standard Mattress
- ✔️ Effective Through Stage II (Medacure)
- ✔️ 79″ x 35″ x 3″ Pad, 220 lb Capacity
How a Bubble Pad Works
The pad is made of 130 individual bubble cells in alternating rows. Every 10 minutes the pump shifts air from one set of rows to the other, so the points carrying the most weight, the sacrum, hips, shoulders and heels, get regular relief. Ventilated low air loss cells let a little air move across the surface to help with heat and moisture.
Who Is It Best For?
- Patients at risk of pressure ulcers, or with ulcers up to Stage II per Medacure
- Home beds and hospital beds with a mattress in good condition
- Patients up to 220 lbs
- Short term use after surgery or illness
- Caregivers who want air therapy on a tight budget
Compare options with the hospital bed mattress assessment tool.
Who May Need Something Else?
- Stage III or IV wounds: choose a replacement system such as the Comfort Zone.
- Patients over 220 lbs: the Oasis is rated for 350 lbs.
- Patients who want no pump at all: the Medacure gel and foam overlay is non-powered.
Whisper Quiet Pump
The compact pump weighs 2.9 lbs and moves 4 to 6 liters of air per minute. Eight comfort levels run from soft to firm, so the pad can be set for the patient’s weight and comfort. It plugs into a standard outlet with a 15 foot medical grade cord.
Overlay or Replacement Mattress?
An overlay is the least expensive way to add alternating pressure, and it is light and easy to set up. A replacement mattress like the Oasis with foam base gives deeper cells, higher weight capacity and a more stable edge. If the patient spends most of the day in bed or already has a wound beyond Stage II, a replacement system is usually the better choice. Our pressure relief mattress guide explains the difference.
Using the Pad Safely
Keep the pump plugged in and running whenever the patient is on the pad, because an overlay has no foam layer to fall back on. If an alarm, a hiss or a soft spot suggests a leak, check the tubing first, then the bubbles. Keep the pad flat with no folds under the patient, and avoid heating pads or electric blankets on top of it. Reposition the patient on the schedule the care team sets, since an overlay supports turning but does not replace it.
Setting Up
Place the pad on the mattress with the tubes at the foot of the bed and the bubble side up. Hang the pump on the footboard, connect the tubes so they do not kink, and switch on. Let the pad inflate for a few minutes, cover it with a loose fitting sheet and set the comfort level before placing the patient.
Care
Wipe the PVC pad with a mild cleaner and let it dry. Keep sharp objects and pets away from the bubbles, and check the tubes for kinks each day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an alternating pressure pad and pump?
It is a thin air overlay with many small bubble cells and a small pump. The pump inflates and deflates alternating rows of bubbles so pressure keeps moving under the body. It sits on top of an existing mattress, which makes it an affordable step up from foam alone.
Does the BP300 replace my mattress?
No. It is an overlay used on top of any standard mattress. Keep the mattress in good condition, because the pad needs a firm, even surface underneath.
What size is the pad?
Medacure lists the pad at 79″ x 35″ x 3″, sized for standard twin and hospital bed mattresses.
What is the weight capacity?
Medacure rates the Bubble Pad system for 220 lbs. Heavier patients need a full replacement air mattress such as the Oasis or Comfort Zone.
What stage of pressure ulcer is it for?
Medacure lists it as effective through Stage II, for the prevention, treatment and management of pressure ulcers. Patients with Stage III or IV wounds need a replacement air system.
How do I adjust it?
The pump has 8 comfort levels from soft to medium to firm, across a pressure range of 50 to 105 mmHg. The cycle time is 10 minutes.
Is the pump noisy?
Medacure describes it as whisper quiet. It is small, 8.3″ x 4″ x 3.5″, weighs 2.9 lbs and hangs on the footboard.
Will it raise the bed surface?
Yes, by about 3″. Check that the side rails still sit well above the surface after adding the pad.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Return Policy
At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.
Shipping & Order Processing
We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.
Processing Time
Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.
Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.
Transit & Delivery Time
Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.
Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.
Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.
Freight & Oversized Equipment
Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.
30-Day Return Policy
We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.
Eligible products generally include:
- Electric and power wheelchairs
- Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
- Mobility scooters
- Walkers and rollators
- Patient lifts
- Wheelchair ramps
- Hospital and homecare beds
- Eligible medical mattresses
- Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
- Overbed tables
- Bathroom benches and shower chairs
- Other eligible medical and mobility equipment
Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.
Return Authorization
Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.
You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.
Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.
Condition of Returned Merchandise
To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:
- In brand-new and unused condition
- In its complete original manufacturer packaging
- With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
- Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
- In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer
We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.
These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.
If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.
Return Shipping & Shipping Charges
The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.
Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.
Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.
Non-Returnable Products
For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.
We currently do not accept returns on:
- Parts & accessories
- Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
- Patient lift slings
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page
If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.
If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.
Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.
If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.
Refused Deliveries
Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.
A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.
Return Shipping Deadline
Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.
This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.
The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.
If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.
For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.
If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.
Questions Before Ordering?
Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.
For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
