Description

Medacure FSC-L-EXT Linak Hoyer Lift Charger with Stand

The Medacure FSC-L-EXT is the hoyer lift charger with stand for every Medacure Free Spirit electric lift. It charges the Linak battery off the lift, so the lift can stay at the bedside while a spare battery charges. New to lifts? Read our patient lift buying guide and the patient lift knowledge base.

As a linak charger for patient lift batteries, it is matched to the FSB-L Free Spirit battery, from the 450 lb FS450-L to the 850 lb FS850 Pro and the sit-to-stand models.

Replacing a lost patient lift charger or building a two battery setup? The FSC-L-EXT is the original Medacure part. Questions about fit? Call us at 585-505-6665.

✅ Key Features

  • ✔️ Linak External Charger with Stand
  • ✔️ Fits All Free Spirit Series Lifts
  • ✔️ Charges the FSB-L Battery Off the Lift
  • ✔️ Pair with a Spare Battery, No Downtime
  • ✔️ Lift Stays Where It Is Needed
  • ✔️ Original Medacure Part FSC-L-EXT

Why an External Charger?

Charging a lift battery on board means the lift has to sit next to an outlet until the battery is full. An external charger moves the charging off the lift. Pair it with a second FSB-L battery and the lift never stands idle: one battery works while the other charges, and a swap takes seconds.

Who Is It For?

  • Homes with frequent transfers through the day
  • Facilities sharing one Free Spirit lift between residents or shifts
  • Caregivers who want the lift parked where it is needed, not by an outlet
  • Anyone replacing a lost or damaged charger stand

Compatible Lifts

Manual Free Spirit models (FS450-H hydraulic, FS400-STS) have no battery.

Charger and Battery: A Two Battery System

The most reliable setup for daily use is two batteries and one external charger. Start the day with a full battery on the lift and a second one charging in the stand. When the lift’s LCD shows low charge, swap. Free Spirit’s quick release battery means no tools, no wires and no waiting.

Home vs Facility Use

At home, the stand can live on a dresser or shelf in the caregiver’s room, so the spare battery is charged and waiting each morning. In a care facility, a charger stand at the nurses’ station or equipment room lets staff keep a rotation of charged batteries, so a lift shared across residents and shifts is always ready. Either way, the lift itself does not need to be parked by an outlet to charge.

Setting Up

Place the stand on a stable, dry surface near an outlet. Plug in the charger, set the battery into the stand until it seats, and confirm charging. Keep the area clear of liquids and away from the bathroom.

Signs You Need a New Charger

Replace the charger if the battery no longer charges fully in the stand, if the charging light does not come on with a good battery, or if the cord, plug or stand is damaged. A battery that will not hold a charge even after a full cycle in a working charger usually means the battery itself needs replacing.

Care Tips

  • Keep the charger contacts clean and dry
  • Unplug before cleaning; wipe with a dry cloth
  • Do not cover the charger while in use
  • Inspect the cord and plug regularly; stop using a damaged charger

Safety Reminder

Check the battery charge before each transfer and know your lift’s emergency stop and CPR lowering function. Never charge a wet or damaged battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which lifts does the FSC-L-EXT charger work with?

Medacure lists the FSC-L-EXT as the Linak external charger with stand for all Free Spirit series lifts: the Free Spirit FS450-L, FS660-L bariatric, FS850 Pro bariatric, FS450STS-L sit-to-stand and FS600STS-L bariatric sit-to-stand. It charges the FSB-L Free Spirit battery.

Do I need an external charger if my lift charges on board?

No, but it helps. The lift can charge its battery on board. The external charger lets a battery charge off the lift, so with a spare battery the lift keeps working while the other charges.

How does the stand work?

The charger sits in its own stand on a table, counter or wall area. Set the battery into the charger, plug it in, and the battery charges without the lift needing to be parked by an outlet.

Is a battery included?

No. The charger with stand is sold alone. Add the FSB-L Linak battery if you want a spare to charge while the lift is in use.

How long should I charge?

Follow the charging instructions in your Free Spirit lift manual and charge fully before first use. Checking the lift’s LCD charge level before transfers is the best habit.

Can it charge other brands’ lift batteries?

It is designed for the Linak battery used on Medacure Free Spirit lifts. Other lifts that use a different battery model may not fit; check with the lift maker or call us.

Where should I keep the charger?

In a dry, ventilated spot away from bathing areas, near the room where the lift is used most, so swapping batteries is quick.

Is it an original Medacure part?

Yes. FSC-L-EXT is Medacure’s part number for the Linak external charger with stand.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
