Description

Medacure Lincoln LX-BARI-S – Bariatric Hospital Bed with Built-In Scale

The Medacure Lincoln LX-BARI-S is a hospital bed with scale: a 750 lb expandable bariatric bed that weighs the patient in bed, stores the weight history and shows the change, with a nurse control and a central locking system. Read our hospital bed buying guide and the hospital bed knowledge base before you choose.

As a bariatric bed with built in scale, it expands from 36″ to 48″ wide and 80″ to 88″ long, with Trendelenburg and auto contour.

It is also a hospital bed with bed exit alarm, a nurse lockout and a backup battery for safer care. Questions? Call us at 585-505-6665.

✅ Key Features

  • ✔️ Built-In Digital Scale with History
  • ✔️ Bed Exit Alarm
  • ✔️ Nurse Control with Patient Lockout
  • ✔️ 750 lb Bariatric Weight Capacity
  • ✔️ Expands 36″ to 48″ Wide
  • ✔️ Backup Battery, CPR and E-Stop

Why a Bed with a Built-In Scale?

For bariatric patients, regular weight checks are essential and difficult. Every transfer to a scale costs staff time and adds risk. The LX-BARI-S weighs the patient in bed, records the history and shows the change, so weight tracking becomes a routine glance instead of a two person job.

Choose Your Model

LX-BARI-S-CLS LX-BARI-9-S-CLS
Height 14″ to 30″ Low position 9″
Scale, alarm, nurse control Yes Yes
Central locking Yes Yes
Best for Bariatric care with weight tracking Weight tracking plus fall risk

Who Is It Best For?

  • Bariatric patients up to 750 lbs who need regular weights
  • Patients on weight based medication or fluid monitoring
  • Patients at risk of leaving bed unassisted (bed exit alarm)
  • Facilities that want nurse lockout control

Who May Need Something Else?

  • No scale needed: the Lincoln LX-BARI.
  • Transport and storage: the Lincoln LX-BARI-SF split frame.
  • Weighing during lift transfers: a lift scale such as the Medacure DS850. See our hospital bed buying guide.

Nurse Control and Patient Pendant

Both the nurse control and the patient hand pendant run all 10 positions, including Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg. The nurse control’s lockout overrides the patient pendant when needed, and two white LEDs under it light the foot end at night.

Safety and Power

The bed has a CPR and emergency stop function. It runs on AC power with a backup 12V rechargeable battery included, and a battery power indicator shows on the display.

Expandable Bariatric Frame

The deck expands from 36″ to 42″ or 48″ and from 80″ to 88″, with an expandable headboard, an IV pole mount and a trapeze bracket mount on both head corners, and a central locking system to hold it in place.

Linak Motors and Hand Pendant

Linak actuators and controls power all 10 positions from the nurse control or the patient pendant. The 10 position patient hand pendant uses universal symbols, so residents and staff can adjust the bed without reading small labels.

Rails, Assist Bars and Mattresses

For extra security, add the Medacure quarter side rails (HSR28-RV-2) or the SoftSecure swing rails (SAR-2), made to fit Medacure long term care frames. The deck takes a 42″ or 48″ bariatric mattress such as the Medacure ProEx memory foam mattress; when the length is extended, the Medacure mattress extender fills the gap at the foot. Not sure which surface fits? See our hospital bed mattress guide.

Built for Long Term Care

A heavy duty rectangle tube bed deck on a reinforced steel frame and expandable head and foot boards make it ready for daily bariatric care. Boards come in Mahogany, Amber Cherry or Maple; tell us your color in the order notes.

Bed Safety Checklist

  1. Lock the casters before transfers and care.
  2. Keep the bed at its lowest height when the resident is in bed and unattended, as the care plan directs.
  3. Check that the mattress fits the deck with no gaps at the rails or boards.
  4. Route the pendant and power cord away from moving parts.
  5. Inspect rails, assist bars and casters weekly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the built-in scale work?

The built-in digital scale weighs the patient where they lie. The large illuminated color screen shows the weight in lb or kg, stores the weight history and calculates the change since the last reading. Medacure ships it pre-calibrated.

Why weigh a bariatric patient in bed?

Moving a bariatric patient to a standing or chair scale is hard and risky. In-bed weighing lets staff track weight for medication dosing, fluid balance and nutrition without a transfer.

What does the bed exit alarm do?

It sounds when the patient leaves the bed, alerting staff to a possible fall or wandering.

What is the nurse control lockout?

The nurse control can lock out the patient’s hand pendant, so a confused patient cannot move the bed into an unsafe position.

What if the power goes out?

A backup 12V rechargeable battery is included, and the bed has a CPR and emergency stop function.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Return Policy

At MedCare Mobility, we understand that purchasing medical and mobility equipment is an important decision. Our goal is to make the ordering, delivery, and return process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Because many of the products we offer are large, specialized, or shipped directly from manufacturer and distributor warehouses, shipping and return requirements may vary somewhat by product and brand. The policy below explains what you can generally expect when ordering from MedCare Mobility.

Shipping & Order Processing

We ship medical and mobility equipment to customers throughout the United States. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, and tracking information is provided once available.

Processing Time

Most in-stock orders are processed within approximately 1–3 business days. Processing may include order verification, warehouse preparation, packaging, and coordination with the manufacturer or distributor.

Some specialty equipment, made-to-order products, oversized items, or products shipping directly from a manufacturer may require additional processing time. Any estimated processing or lead time shown on an individual product page should be considered part of the expected fulfillment timeframe for that item.

Transit & Delivery Time

Once shipped, many standard orders arrive within approximately 3–7 business days. Larger medical equipment, freight shipments, specialty products, and certain manufacturer-direct orders may require additional transit time.

Tracking information will generally be emailed once the shipment has been processed by the carrier. If you have questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us at info@medcaremobility.com.

Alaska, Hawaii & Special Shipping Areas

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and certain remote or limited-access areas may be subject to additional shipping charges. If an additional charge is required after your order is reviewed, we will contact you before proceeding whenever additional payment is necessary.

Freight & Oversized Equipment

Hospital beds, patient lifts, large recliners, ramps, and other oversized medical equipment may ship by freight rather than standard parcel service. Unless a specific delivery service is stated on the product page or order, freight delivery does not automatically include inside delivery, assembly, installation, or removal of packaging.

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel comfortable ordering from MedCare Mobility. Most eligible products may be returned when a return is requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions and exclusions outlined below.

Eligible products generally include:

  • Electric and power wheelchairs
  • Manual and lightweight wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters
  • Walkers and rollators
  • Patient lifts
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Hospital and homecare beds
  • Eligible medical mattresses
  • Geriatric and medical recliner chairs
  • Overbed tables
  • Bathroom benches and shower chairs
  • Other eligible medical and mobility equipment

Return eligibility can vary by manufacturer and product type. Products specifically identified as non-returnable, custom, made-to-order, or otherwise subject to special return terms are governed by those terms.

Return Authorization

Please contact us before shipping any product back. Returns must first be approved and issued a Return Authorization (RA) and the appropriate return shipping address.

You may request a return by emailing info@medcaremobility.com or contacting our customer service team through the live chat on our website.

Please do not return merchandise to an address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so. Many products ship directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses, and the correct return location may be different from the original shipping location.

Condition of Returned Merchandise

To qualify for a return and refund, the product must be returned:

  • In brand-new and unused condition
  • In its complete original manufacturer packaging
  • With all manuals, components, hardware, accessories, and included materials
  • Without damage, modification, assembly wear, stains, odors, or other signs of use
  • In resalable condition upon inspection by the receiving warehouse or manufacturer

We strongly recommend keeping the original box, pallet, protective materials, and packaging until you are certain that you intend to keep the equipment. Large medical equipment can be difficult or impossible to return safely without its original packaging.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns are subject to a mandatory restocking fee, generally ranging from 15% to 20% of the applicable product price. The exact restocking percentage varies depending on the manufacturer, brand, and type of equipment being returned.

These restocking charges are assessed to us by the manufacturer or distributing warehouse when merchandise is returned. MedCare Mobility does not add the fee simply as a return penalty; when the manufacturer requires the charge, we must pass the applicable amount through as part of processing the return.

If you would like to know the applicable restocking percentage for a particular product before ordering, please contact us and we will be happy to help whenever that information is available from the manufacturer.

Return Shipping & Shipping Charges

The customer is responsible for shipping charges associated with the order when making a standard return.

Customers are responsible for arranging for the approved merchandise to be returned to the return address provided with the Return Authorization. In certain cases, we may be able to provide a prepaid return label or coordinate return transportation for your convenience. When provided, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from the final refund.

Because some medical equipment is oversized or requires freight transportation, prepaid labels or carrier call tags may not be available for every product. Our customer service team will provide the available return instructions when your return is authorized.

Non-Returnable Products

For health, hygiene, safety, customization, and manufacturer-policy reasons, certain products are not eligible for standard returns.

We currently do not accept returns on:

  • Parts & accessories
  • Wheelchair cushions and support accessories
  • Patient lift slings
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Products specifically identified as non-returnable on the product page

If a non-returnable product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly. Non-returnable status does not prevent us from assisting with a legitimate shipping damage, defect, warranty, or fulfillment issue in accordance with the applicable manufacturer and carrier procedures.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take shipping damage seriously and will work with you to help resolve legitimate delivery issues.

If your product arrives damaged, please notify MedCare Mobility within 48 hours of delivery. Whenever possible, retain the shipping carton, pallet, packaging materials, and the product exactly as received and take clear photographs of the packaging and any visible damage.

Reporting damage promptly is important because carriers and manufacturers have limited timeframes for filing freight and shipping claims.

If you receive an incorrect product or believe there is a manufacturer defect, please contact us before returning or disposing of any merchandise or packaging so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

Refused Deliveries

Please contact us before refusing a delivery unless the shipment has obvious significant freight damage and the carrier is documenting the damage at delivery.

A shipment that is refused for reasons unrelated to verified shipping damage may be treated as a standard return. Applicable restocking and shipping charges may therefore be deducted from the refund.

Return Shipping Deadline

Once a return has been approved and return instructions or a return label have been issued, the merchandise must be shipped within 72 hours unless MedCare Mobility provides different instructions in writing.

This is particularly important when a return is approaching the end of the applicable return period. Returns shipped outside the authorized timeframe may be refused by the manufacturer or warehouse and may no longer qualify for a refund.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected by the applicable warehouse or manufacturer and the return has been confirmed to meet the return requirements.

The applicable restocking fee, shipping charges associated with the order, and any other authorized return-related charges will be deducted from the amount eligible for refund.

If returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing original packaging or components, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents the manufacturer or warehouse from accepting it as new and resalable merchandise, the return may be refused or the refund may be reduced in accordance with the manufacturer’s assessment.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Products identified as custom, configured, made-to-order, special-order, or manufactured specifically for the customer cannot generally be canceled once production or manufacturer processing has begun and are not eligible for standard returns.

For custom products, cancellation may only be possible during the initial processing period and before production or customization begins. Because production schedules vary by manufacturer, we encourage customers to contact us immediately if a change is required.

If a custom product arrives damaged or has a legitimate manufacturing defect, we will work with the manufacturer to pursue the appropriate resolution, replacement components, repair, or other available remedy under the applicable manufacturer policy or warranty.

Questions Before Ordering?

Medical equipment can vary considerably in size, configuration, compatibility, and intended use. If you are unsure whether a product will work for your needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before placing your order.

Our team is happy to help review product specifications, dimensions, options, compatibility, and available manufacturer information so you can make a more informed purchasing decision and reduce the possibility of needing a return.

For shipping, return, or product questions, contact us at info@medcaremobility.com or speak with us through the live chat on our website.
